  1. Trains are leaving from odense to Aarhus all the time. No problem. Its getting from the station in Aarhus to the flight, that's a bit difficult. I thing there is 1 bus in every hour leaving from the station to the Airport

  2. Thanks - I had seen that, but I'm travelling myself on the flight, meeting my pals in Odense. So I don't think Clip Cards will be a help, unless I hang about the airport touting for other fans travelling to Odense ;-)

Just wondering if there's any benefot in booking the train in advance... cheers.

There's no benefit regarding the price, but u skip the lines in the airport and can book a seat in advance. Remember in Denmark u cant buy a ticket on the train. U must get it before u board - otherwise its a 5000 kr fine (570ish pounds).

But dont u think u can find other well fans already on the flight?

  3. Welcome to the boards.

Any information as to the dangermen in the OB side? How is the goalie Carroll shaping up?

Hope the game is a cracker...with a Well win of course.

Watch out for Peter Utaka if he's still around. He's by far the best striker in scandinavia, but there are a few english clubs after him...

Otherwise we have a solid crew who are all capaple of getting goals. The player u probably know best is Djemba Djemba, who's just returned from a long injury keeping him out for most of the year. He's been solid when fit.

When I learned that we signed Carrol I threw up a little in my mouth... But I must say, that he's surpriced me and was voted keeper of the year in the danish league last season. He's been very good in Odense!

Otherwise I think that we might have an advantage in the fact that we allmost every year play in europe. Recently we've knocked out Herta Berlin and Scotish Hibs to reach the group stage. But overall our greatest moment was when we knocked out Real Madrid (with Michael Laudrup in the squad) over two games reaching the quaters... Oh happy days when we beat them 2-0 at Bernabeu... Thinking about it still makes me a little hung over....! :O

I predict two tight games and us being slim favorites.

  4. It's brilliant to see how much u guys ar looking forward to the game and how many of u are coming over. I promise u a gr8 party in good spirit - let's have "a few pints" and make the warmup and the game loud and fun!

In Odense (or just OB) we as urself are happy with the draw. Last time we met a team from Scotland we saw off hibs over two matches. Off course I hope for a repeat, but let's see. Should be a tight tie!

I see some of u guys are asking for cheap accomodation. Try and google:

    vandrehjem i odense

These places are defo NOT luxury but it'll be ur cheapest choice. Most of them are not dead centre of the city but within 5 miles of it.

Happy hunting. See ya all in 11 days!

    Cheers

  5. I'm totally unsure of what to do here...

I'm almost ashamed to admit this, but I have NEVER been to a 'Well away game in Europe and me and my mate had agreed we'd make a fucking good effort to go to this leg if we got through the Aalesunds tie.

The main problem for me is (aside from the normal financial ones) since i've booked to go to Oz at Christmas, I've got no holidays left for 2010 at all, not one single day left.

So do I ask for time off unpaid, which is pretty much unheard of in my work, or do I phone in sick for two days and sit in the 'Well end with my Fonejacker balaclava on so no c**t recognises me?

Danish TV just love to air the away team supporters, mate. Just a fair warning....! ;o)

  6. I see roy carroll is there number one GK. More confident now :(

He he, I know where u're coming from but he's actually been outstanding and was voted best scandinavian keeper last year. But yeah, I almost puked when we signed him.... But I stand corrected ;o)

I guess we all loved the draw. Now it's time for business. Looking forward to ur chants and lets get some pints, eh?! :O)

  7. Could a friendly Dane give us a bit of advice on the trains from Copenhagen airport to Odense...

    (1) Is there any benefit (price, seat reservation...) in reserving a ticket online in advance? Or is it just the same deal if you arrive and buy a ticket immediately before travelling?

    (2) what happens if you book a specific train, but the incoming flight is late and you need to get a later one?

    (3) There seem to be different classes of train (InterCity etc). Any major advantage / cost difference in the different types?

The Danish railway website is good, but when you go to book it's all in Danish, and mine's a bit limited.

    Tak!

Check my earlier post on clip cards... ^_^)

  8. If u are travelling in groups u can get gr8 discounts. ClipCards its called and can be bought at the airport coach service. Just about half price i'd say...

Again: 1124 dkr would be 125 pounds... ;o)

100 pounds equals about 900 of our money... ^_^)

  9. What prices are people getting for the train from copehagen to odense?

On this website http://www.rejseplanen.dk/ I'm getting quoted 1,124 kr which works out about £67.50 if converted correctly?

Anyone else book this train and if so what's your prices like?

If u are travelling in groups u can get gr8 discounts. ClipCards its called and can be bought at the airport coach service. Just about half price i'd say...

  10. Stadium holds 15,000 .... how many tickets will we get ? Looking at the site tonight, and as we venture into far more accessible parts of Scandinavia, it would appear that we could have a decent amount travelling.

As luck would have it, I'm off that week so Aberdeen to Copenhagen looks like my best option.

It wont be sold out so u just come as many as u want... ;o)

  11. Thanks for all the information, one thing you can be sure of is that the Motherwell fans who travel will have a great time and there will be no trouble, and that you will have a great welcome in Scotland. It was great fun last night having a drink and a chat with the Alesund fans and just the way it should be.

That's the spirit. After all we go abroad to support our team and have a ball! U'll find that u're given a warm welcome in the Odense centre. Lets have a pint and a laugh before and after the game!

Looking forward to the same reception in Motherwell!

  12. Amy idea if this bus still runs from Billund?

Billund Airport only has one terminal and a limited selection of international flights. Upon arriving at Billund Airport, take the "737 Ekspressbussen" (Express Bus) to "Dannebrogsgade" which is right behind Odense Railway Station. This trip takes approximately 1½ hours, and costs DKK 100.00 (approx. $ 15).

Billund is out in the sticks and u'll find it dificul coming to Aarhus, from where u'll have to catch a train. I'm not aware of any busses directly to Odense from there, but id be surpriced if there was one...

    Copenhagen is the safest bet...

  13. Good times.

How big is the centre of Odense? Is everything in walking distance or is it quite widespread? Don't want to end up in a hotel ages away from everyone else!

Its fairly small. If the hotel says midtown/centre u should be allright. Just look for the zip code "5000 Odense" on the websites and u should be cool. Anything else stay away!

  14. anyone sorted out the travel details, is it bus+boat or flying best option???

hope we can take a decent support

If I may pitch in the best and easiest way must be:

    1. Catch a plane to Copenhagen Airport

    2. Directly from the airport there's a train non stop to Odense. Traveltime about 90 minutes or so from the airport. The ground is a 10 minutes walk from the railstaton in odense.

Looking forward to welcoming u guys to Odense. Should be a good tie!

    Cheers

  15. Hi Guys

I see u liked the draw as well as we did. U got the luck of finishing at home, but I predict a close tie. Maybe we'll benefit from being in europe every year, but as far as i've been able to see both our teams like to play positive football so it should be a good tie!

Easiest way for u guys to come to odense must be:

    1. Catch a plane to Copenhagen.

    2. Directly from the airport take the train and 95 minutes later you are in odense. The rail station is 10 minutes from the ground and 10 seconds from the nearest bar! <_>

Looking forward to welcoming u to odense!

    Cheers
