  1. Please make it a priority to have a word and clarify we don't need to bend over to please other clubs, especially the Old Firm, at every opportunity.

Didn't you help organise a joint protest with the green brigade at Fir Park last season?

    "nothing short of a disgrace"

    Who fucking cares

  2. I avoid all games against the scum, it's simply not worth the hassle, not to mention that the missus worries about me until I get home, so a season ticket isn't value for me at all.

    PATG it is.

    You precious little thing

    What age are you?

  3. Holding a team meeting and telling his teammates to stay away from him was definitely the best way of dealing with the problem.

1 - We've only heard O 'Learys side of the story

2 - Manager tells players to stay away from player with bad attitude. Probably because he didn't want O' Leary to inflict his bad attitude (in Calderwoods view) on other players. How awful

  4. It was published in the Sun, maybe not the a haven of truth but a bit more reputable than some Internet random.

    http://www.thescottishsun.co.uk/scotsol/homepage/sport/5005506/Dressing-rooms-turned-into-the-loneliest-places-in-the-world-for-me.html

You should work for the Sun the way you've twisted what the article actually says

Calderwood bullied and ostracised O 'Leary when he found out O 'Leary had depression? No he didn't. Read the article.

He froze him out because he thought O' Leary had a bad attitude. Calderwood knew nothing about the depression

  5.

That story about Calderwood bullying and ostracising Ryan O'Leary at Kilmarnock when he found out he had depression made me a bit uncomfortable about the idea of him ever managing us.[/quote

You mean the story that someone posted on an Internet forum and is now therefore a FACT?

    File under utter bullshit

  6. Only takes one of them to get sold for a million and it has paid dividends.

If we continue playing the way we've started the season we won't be able to get a 6 figure fee for any of our players. Not that unreal a prospect. And then what? How do we pay back Les Hutchinson?

To bring in 'gems' from the lower leagues and try to sell them on isn't a bad idea. But if we bring in too many and start living out with our means (which would appear to be happening) then we are relying on some of them being sold on for big fees. Thats just as risky a strategy as relying on good cup runs and top 6 finishes every year. Which almost seen us go into administration (again).

People going on about us needing a new right back or a new centre mid or whatever. The only 2 things we NEED are:

1 - A team which is good enough to comfortably finish 10th or above - which on paper we already have

2 - Not to go into administration again, and be fucked for a generation like Dunfermline or Rangers

  7.

    substantial budget (by Motherwell standards).

McCalls budget was only slightly more than Jim Gannon and Craig Browns budget, and less than Mark McGhees. Hardly substantial.

Also worth noting that McCalls "substantial budget" in his three full seasons was less than Aberdeens, Dundee Utds and Hibs in all three, and less than Hearts in two out of three.

  8. To come best of the rest outside the old firm for a Motherwell manager in one season is a great achievement. But to do it 3 times in a row, I don't think I'm exaggerating when I say, it's world class management. I doubt it's something that will happen again in any of our lifetimes.

The Albion Rovers result was a disgrace and embarrassing. But these freak results do happen from time to time (man utd 0 - 4 MK Dons, Celtic 0 - 1 bottom of the first division Morton etc). I don't think it's fair to sack a manager or judge a manger on his time anywhere over one performance, especially when the league form was consistently excellent.

Had McCall been able to sign Pearson, McDonald and given the funds baraclough was in January would he have kept us up? Who knows, I would suspect yes though.

Having said all that he did fuck up big time in his last season, nobody can argue that. He's had his time. Did a great job on the whole, but I don't think we should ever employ him again because of the state he left us in.

    I wish him well
