  1. The badge change idea is not as far fetched as some people seem to think. Chelsea, Man U and Arsenal are 3 clubs who have changed the badge in recent years. Bigger clubs with more spare cash maybe, but its hardly an unthinkable option.

  2. This share offering is starting to worry me a bit. I think we will be lucky to get 1000 people to sign up at £300, bearing in mind the financial pressures everybody is under now. Thats only £300k initially. Not a lot for what is really an IPO.

Not sure what the annual contribution would be, say it was £50 then thats only £50k a year.

Obviously all hypothetical, but I would consider these figures to be realistic to what people could afford and would be willing to pay.

  3. I'm not convinced about this either. He cited the Barcelona model, however that is a club with global support and 100000+ through the gates every week. Also if you look deeper at their finances, they are in severe debt.

Not sure how they are going to work it that each person who invests has a vote in decisions. They will need to set up a sort of internet voting thing so that decisions can be made quickly. Nothing stalls an organisation more than indecisevness or delays in making decisions. That can have disasterous consequences.

Will be interesting to see the finer details.

  4. I've went for Terry, but was a very hard choice between him and McGhee. McGhee has us playing the best football i've ever seen Motherwell play, lead us to 3rd place and lead us through one of the darkest moments in our clubs history. However, it lasted only 1 season or half a season to be more accurate.

Terry consistently had us in top 6 places, memorable cup runs and had great rapport with the club and its supporters. He seemed to have a genuine affection for the club and I have to say I was gutted when he left. Granted, however, some of the football we were playing at times was awful.

I think most people would agree its a toss up between the two, depending on what perspective you take.

  5. Sorry to see him go, but not unexpected. Probably playing it safe remaining in the SPL since he was rotten down south wherever he went.

Dont think he's having a swipe at well fans, merely stating he will have the hearts supporters on side at tynecastle. Was always well supported at FP.

  6. For me personally, I really dislike Celtic, partly down to the above reason and also down to the 'everyone's against us' and Victim mentality, aswell as the paranoia, sheer hypocricy and high horse attitude that that club and it's supporters are famous for. I don't find Celtic fans particularly sectarian either as although I don't agree with the IRA chants, they are not in any way sectarian, more political sentimental whinging that has no place in football.

Celtic's paranoia and holier than thou' stance. Each to their own and that.

Exactly why i dislike celtic fans more than any other group of supporters. The supposed 'best fans in the world' have a sinister and dark undertone to their support but neglect to admit it or confront it.

Also, what really gets to me is the fact that they think they are all irish, half of them probably couldnt tell you where their ancestors are from or have even been to ireland. They are British no matter what they think and have a British passport to prove it. If you hate this country and Great Britain so much then leave. Why anybody would want to parade a flag of a country that you dont live in is beyond me. And i say that about anybody in this country who does not want to uphold, respect or accept our traditions.

  7. Our transfer policy will continue as is. Any money we have made will ensure we survive another couple of seasons at our current level

Thats the way it should be, theres no point blowing all the cash on an unsustainable transfer policy either by paying transfer fees or offering players money outwith our wage structure. The extra cash should go on the maintenance of the stadium, which is long, long overdue.

  8. Thought the referee had a shocker, was too willing to blow the whistle instead of letting the game flow. Every 50/50 challenge he had to stop play and award a free kick to one team. Its a 50/50, cant you just let the winner of the ball continue play? Just because two players make contact does not mean its a foul. I suppose this is really a criticism of refereeing in general, but yesterday was particularly bad.

  9. I noticed that. They were sitting in the row in front of me and my dad. I had a feeling they were Celtic fans and watched them when our players came out. No reaction at all. That said they didn't react to Celtic's goals but I did have a sly look at their phones when they were looking at texts or Facebook. Nothing overly controversial but about 15 minutes before the end one showed his mate a text which said "leave now". Very strange.

Ever thought of getting a job in MI5?

  10. loada shite there, Its your fucking job to make sure the players do not lose sight of our goals, we had a great chance to get 5th and extra cash for the club and McCall has made a rip roaring c**t of it, now were going into our biggest game in 20 years on a severe downer, with a disjointed team and on the back of shipping 17 goals in our last 5 games,3 of them being Motherwell 0. Aye great prep for a cup final

That is spot on. Our momentum has been completely destroyed and confidence will be low. Shipping 17 goals in our last 5 games is not good preparation.

The last 5 games we should have played as near as our cup final side as possible to keep fitness up and try and get a few results going so we go in with some momentum. Poor, poor decision.

  11. Surely the precedent has been set with the Lennon and McCoist incident? Would like to see the verdict in full, sounds a bit iffy to me.

When a football player retaliates its always he who retaliates who gets punished. Surely this incident should follow the same logic?

  12. Never understood the clamour for half time entertainment. Half time is a chance to speak to yer mates or some folk you only see at the games once in a while, take a piss or get a pie. If we had anything like the nonsense they have in american sports, it would be embarrassing.

  13. cannae understand the bollocks spouted cos he's ex-Rangers.

I've not seen any of that on this board.

Most posters, myself included, were sceptical of his appointment and have been vocal about it. Never seen anybody post we didn't want him 'cos hes ex rangers.

  14. I dont think there will be a huge problem for any well fan getting a ticket.

If the club have genuine concerns about celtic supporters buying tickets in our end then they could say season ticket holders or those who went to the semi etc. Lets be honest, any 'well supporter will know somebody in the aforementioned groups. Saying that, no doubt somebody will come out with some obscure scenario that will exclude them...

I've never understood the going into other teams ends, it wouldnt be the same having to sit there in silence and not knowing anybody. Anyway if they do infitrate us, they will get battered by wee boys in £600 jackets.

  15. I've resisted posting on this thread, but some of the nonsense that has been said on here is hilarious.

Once again some people have used these events to have a go at the casuals, i think we all agree that what happened was out of order. I was up the back of the pub and seen it all, the young lads charged in shouting SS and to be honest the SJ boys finished it as quickly as it started.

The wit and guile claim is ridiculous. Can i suggest to the club that there is an aptitude test for cup final tickets. This should weed out any supporters of poor intellect.

  16. I think we are moving in the right direction, with some excellent results and some poor results, but overall we must be satisfied with what he has produced so far.

The mccall out thread after only a few games was frankly embarrassing. I dont think anybody on here would care to be judged on their performance after only 5 weeks in a job. Lets just wait and see where we are at the end of the season.

I want to see some consistency at the club; we have had 3 managers in under 2 years which is not a good record.

  17. That layout is an absolute joke, why not just have everybody together. Just shows how much of a shambles the SFA actually is. What we'll see is a third empty stadium with a flat atmosphere. Dont care how it looks on the tele either; 20000 in a 50000 seater stadium is completely non-sensical.

Easter Road or Tynecastle would have more than suited both clubs. Scandalous decision.

  18. As i said earlier in this thread, if anybody quits their job they lose their entitlement to a bonus.

Even more so if you never took part in the work that would have earned you said bonus. How he can even consider asking for a bonus for mccall getting us to the SC semi is beyond me.
