  1. There is a pub there that will be showing the game, unfortunately it has also got a 'Rangers supporters club' attached out (or did have) . As an expat of over 10 years, my experience in that place was singularly the most embarrassing and unfriendly, a complete bunch of wankers for expats the lot of them.

I don't doubt it. Nearest place to me is McGettigans in JLT. Think I'll head there on Sunday for the second leg.

  2. you've pulled out two trialists from the last ten years. How many bodies have we had in that time that didn't work out?

We should obviously always be on the lookout for gems to compliment the squad but when we're needing guys to put a starting lineup on the field there should be a bit more planning going on. What if all the trialists turn out to be pish which is what usually happens?

I think we are paying the price for mccall's daliance with sheff utd followed by the scotland trip followed by his holiday.

You don't like Christmas either, do you?

  3. Thompson twatted him in face. Ref missed it. Hutch went mental, got a yellow card and McCall went ape at him for getting a yellow

From where I was sitting in the east, I'm sure Thompson spat at least in the direction of hutch when he was down. And then hutch went mental.

  4. yeah the flowers were presented in memory of Phil

the boo's just embarassing, jeez we used to huddle at the start of the match, just shows how hung up some are about sellick

Booing the huddle was a bit daft in itself but it was pretty pish to boo when they'd just announced they were presenting flowers to us for Phil.

  5. A fair bit of typical steelmenonline over-reaction on here!

Levante finished 6th last season in the best league in the world. That's not a fluke! We couldn't live with them last night and they had an off night. Tactically and technically they are miles ahead of us. For example, every time Murphy got the ball, he had 3 to beat and basically stangled the creativity out of us. No offence to Las & Law but if you stop Humphrey and Murphy you stop us. They did their homework on us. That's what they did and they thoroughly deserved the win.

    Couple of other points:-

Humphrey was our best player last night, the pace he has scared the life out of them.

Two mistakes by our full backs cost us dearly.

Ojamma has been a massive let down since he signed a long term deal. Poor again last night. And a huffy we git to boot. Drop him and try Murphy up top.

We need to change back to 4-3-3 / 4-5-1in Europe ... 4-4-2 isn't working for us.

The ref was superb last night, it was great watching a ref that didn't spend half the game being the centre of attention with 3 minute lectures ... Iain Brines et al please take note.

Those that are saying that Hearts & Dundee Utd would have beaten them need to have a word with themselves.

Diving - we need to change, not the other way about. I know it's frustrating to watch, but I get the feeling that people on here only watch Scottish football if they are surprised by this. It's (unfortunately) part of the game now; we need to adapt to it.

I think you'll find that if 6th is the best they've ever finished, and they wind up back fighting relegation this season, then a fluke is exactly what it was.

Really wasn't impressed with them at all. Don't expect us to go through obviously but if they play like they did last night, and we step it up a gear to what we're capable of, we can give them a scare at least.

  6. Must be fuckin losing it.

If anybody saw anything superior in our opposition tonight then I'm beat.

We had too many off the boil. We're still very naive to the European game. And in the last third I've seldom seen a poorer performance than tonight.

Summed up in them going all out to score for an extended period of play while their guys rolling around injured. Randy eventuality gets hold of the ball and shows the world how nice we are. They c***s had 2 minutes possession in which to put the ball out of play

Couldn't agree more. Couldn't understand that for the life of me.

  7. FFS I really can't believe we're having this debate. Levante beat Barcelona last year and drew with them at the Nou Camp. Do you think Danny Lennon's boys would've got a similar set of results?

    Get a fucking grip.

That's all well and good. But Levante were really not that impressive tonight. Had we put in the shift we had against Pana I think we'd have beaten them. Better side than us? Surely. But the way they played tonight they were there for the taking and we blew it.

  8. You do a cracking job of adding atmosphere to games. Love the songs, chanting and displays. But throwing paper onto the pitch on our first champions league game was embarrassing and puts the club at risk of a fine.

That makes anyone who threw anything onto the pitch an idiot. End of.

  9. we signed him because he is one of mcall's ex players. it remains to be seen whether or not he can play in a number of positions. tonight suggested he struggled in one.

i've no idea who we could have signed but surely knowing that is why our management team get a wage?

McCall's signing policy did us not too shabby last season (seeing as we've just played a Champions League qualifier) so I'm willing to put faith in his signing again this season.

Thought Ramsden has a good game tonight and if he can play like that week in, week out, I have no problem with it being him and Hutchy that start.

  10. Sat on my break in work and can't sit at peace! Roll on 6pm. Straight on the train from Rutherglen and to the boozer then onto FP. Still can't believe this is real. Cannot wait to get into FP and feel the atmosphere. Champions League, jeezo man!

  11. :whistling:

does it not make it MORE unique by NOT having teh ooponent or date on it tho :drinks:

and , imo, the reason we have starte dselling so early is to try and ensure we dont fall into teh black hole that may be round teh corner and , possibly, to give the gaffer some limitted funds to add to teh squad...altho tbh i doubt that unless its faddy :woop:

Oh aye, I fully understand the reason for it. I just like to collect tickets from big games I've been to in various sports so I'd hoped to get e.g Motherwell v Dinamo Kiev on the ticket. I'll cope without it and as I said earlier in the thread I'm more that happy to pay £30 - would just have liked to have been able to have the official fixture on my ticket as a keepsake.
