  1. According to Andy Devlin in the Sun, Alan Stubbs has now emerged as front runner to fill our vacancy. Interviews will be concluded today with an appointment possible in the next 48 hours. Stuart McCall has also been interviewed and Chris Sutton is a contender too. Mark McGhee will not be returning.

Oh no, not the same calibre of people we had on the shortlist when Gannon got the gig.

Stubbs is at Everton as Assistant Manager of the Reserves.

McCall has had some experience at Bradford, but at best his time was a bit meh.

Sutton, not great by any means at Lincoln.

  2. With the site views increasing it can't be long before Gaag is tapped up to run a "bigger team's" message board. The Celtic banner ads are just a starter for ten. Wait til he gets the call and he'll even be able to afford a main and desert.

  3. I think that no matter the circumstances, our management team and any other asset of the club should ALWAYS be on contract. After the decent start to the season we had I would've had them both in and told them that the deal was, if they wanted a job, they sign on the dotted line.

This gentlemen's agreement malarky doesn't wash with me. Football is a business ffs. Motherwell have either been incredibly naive or incredibly stupid in this instance - and either way, we've all had our fingers burnt as a result.

Don't get me wrong, I'm pissed off at Broon and Knoxy too, but this should never have been allowed to happen.

All very well and good to say that you are unhappy at the lack of contract but the fallout has propelled your website into viable territory. Be thankful.

Regardless of any mistakes, it is time to get behind the team.

    Mon the 'Well

  4. Feedback I've had has been really positive about the quality of the panel and the number of different angles that it covers. A load of the most posted on threads on here are the ones which discuss the media and its treatment of Motherwell/Scottish football in general, the decisions made on the park/off the park by the club and the state of Scottish football/SPL. The majority of these bases are covered.

No one could have predicted what has happened over the last few days and there's a lot of water to flow under the bridge between now and Thursday.

  5. A number of emails were sent last year. Totalling eight with regular updates for the Trust's members. The vast majority were publicised via this forum and our twitter. If you didn't get them, we can only apologise but there are always ways and means to get an update on what's happening.

Even if there was a lack of communication, your money will have went to Youth Development and disabled facilities at Fir Park. Which I'm sure we can all agree is an excellent cause. The Trust ran the Fan's Forum event, Poker Night and Sixes - all of which had a reduced entry fee, or no fee, for our members. This season we've already secured a £3 meal deal and steak pies at the kiosks. If you sent us an email on the kiosks, thanks!

A PM was sent to the original poster, the PayPal link is now working. That said we have moved account and we are testing this.

Bigcol, please feel free to PM me with your issues. It is frustrating that people that aren't happy with what we've done, or not done, don't speak up. We genuinely are listening and changing, please see the aims for 2010 as evidence for this.

As for Yabba's Turd, more than happy to respond to what I can only call stirring. Once you've decided what you are annoyed about feel free to send me a PM.

    Cheers

  6. Recieved this email earlier...

    Dear Sir/Madam,

I am writing to you today on behalf of Scottish football fans for the reintroduction of standing at SPL matches which is a facebook group(Link at the bottom of the email) which supports the introduction of safe standing at football games in the SPL which current has over 1500 members. Currently the SPL is suffering from poor attendances, high ticket prices and poor atmospheres at games and this is why we believe that the SPL should follow the same course of action as the German Bundersliga which has created cheaper tickets for fans larger attendance and a better atmosphere at games solving the above problems as was stated. We are contacting all supporters clubs/trusts in the country to gain more support for our campaign and we are formally asking you to endorse our campaign and help bring real change to game.

    Yours,

    Lachlan Bruce

  8. Now when the club must be desperate for folk to renew season tickets - it's hardly the best frame of mind to put a supporter in at renewal time.

No? How many minds have you helped make up with your post?

    One Motherwell an that.

  9. may sound daft, but do all players need to support the well?

And what do the winning team get from it? (not that my team would win!)

Everyone is welcome, there was a team of Airdrie fans last time around.

    Trophy for the winners.

  10. Racenight is now due early May, full details early next week.

Sixes tournament will be as planned on 12th June, more on this by the end of the month.

Members will receive their monthly email update at the start of next week.

  11. A good few people have answered the call on this, thank you.

However, I know of many other people who have made noises about coming on board in the past but haven't got in touch. You don't need knowledge of how Trusts work, just a bit of time, some enthusiasm and any good ideas are a bonus. If you are thinking about getting involved then please get in touch members@mstonline.net or a PM.

    Cheers

  12. I was suggesting the MST team would be made up of Trust members, not just board members.

Absolutely, cause that would lead to a papping.

My point was more that 'Trust' events can be ran by non-board members. For example, Davie Tonner ran the Fives for a good few years.

  13. o the Trust would be happy to try to get a team together for it but it doesn't make sense for us to get the profits.

Though I would say that members of the Trust are more than welcome to use us to help promote it. It's not just Trust board members that can get involved in putting events on.

  14. Would also appreciate a formal bit of confirmation of receipt of my joining fee that I paid at the Q and A session. Though appreciate what Speedie said further said further up that its a work in progress.

Just a receipt or a welcome letter or a welcome pack?

  15. Stadium Development Fund - part of the funds raised this year by the Trust will go towards 'facilities'. It may be that we reintroduce the Standing Order fund for just this very thing though. A fair amount of the £7,000 which went to the disabled enclosure came from the previous Pitch In fund.

Filling the seats - already discussing some really good ideas with the club on this.

Atmosphere - difficult one to encourage a better atmosphere but fair point on the over zealous stewarding - are they still forcing folk to sit down, thought this had stopped?

Season ticket deals - a great idea, but how do you think we would go about something like this?

  16. Hopefully communication with the members

I am probably not alone but, since (reluctantly) renewing my membership a few months ago I have heard absolutely nothing (to add to the absolutely nothing I had heard for months beforehand).

Also, I am not as much a regular on this site as I used to be and wonder why only this site, and not all Motherwell fan sites, is being used to advertise meetings.

FirParkCorner is used to advertise Trust events and will cover important Trust stories. As will the official site. The Trust's official site will be updated over the next few weeks.

A forum similar to this will appear on FirParkCorner shortly.

Any members who have renewed since August last year should have received an email regarding the Fan's Forum night. If you've not received please PM me your email address and I will update our records.

A land mail letter will be drafted soon with an update for members. Going forward you should expect such an update quarterly.

We know exactly what we are doing around communication this but I admit it is taking time. The Christmas break has taken it's toll.
