  1. We have just had a good away win, clean sheet and into the quarter finals of the Scottish Cup and we have people on here arguing over how many people the away stand at Dundee holds, couldnt make it up!
  2. Anyway, back todays game! Im surprisingly confident going into today, I think we have been fairly solid at the back since the break, only defeat has been away to hibs, and I think our front 2 look to be getting better with each game. Hopefully a good crowd there as well to cheer us another step towards a Hampden return!
  3. 2 wins on the bounce and some folk getting carried away!
  4. Thought it was a very poor game quality wise however your never going to get 38 classic games of football in a season, the main thing is we got 3pts but in the knowledge we are capable of playing much better. Plenty positives to take from the game though, another run out for Ciftci and Main, both will get better and already look like a decent partnership. Good to see Cadden back. Also thought the defence had a solid game, in particular Kipre. We have stopped the rot in terms of games without a win, back in the top 6 and are pretty much going to be back to full strength on Saturday, Happy days!
  5. Went for Kipre, thought he was back to his best tonight. Main was a handful and a nice finish for his goal. Ciftci was good also, great ball in for the crucial second goal.
  6. Was thinking this myself, forecast doesnt look great for next few days. I think the pitch will be fine but surrounding areas could be the main concern. Its quite ironic that we had a winter break and on the lead up to the first game back we get weather like this.
  7. Talk of sacking the manager is utter nonsense IMO! We are currently 8th in the table, 1 win off the top 6. What do people honestly expect from the club! The early season league position was always a false position as we had a decent run of home games so we experienced the flip side of that this month with a number of away games. This is just what certain elements of our support have been waiting for, the I told you robbo was the wrong man brigade.
  8. I agree that tomorrow is game we need to be winning however I dont buy into the stuff about the good start being completely undone if we lose and the mood changing against the manager. Lets look at the first half as a whole, we are sitting in 8th. There have been some great performances like Aberdeen away, Celtic at home etc however there have been some shockers as well, but this isnt a new thing for Motherwell! If you had said to me at the start of the season we would be 8th at Christmas and have been to a cup final I would have bitten your hand off with the turnover in players we had in the summer I think thats pretty good going for a club our size. As for tomorrow, any win will do. And I fancy us to end the bad run, 2-0 to the good guys!
  9. The difference for me though between these and the recent ones against us is that both decisions that were given against Celtic they came out and created a media circus and if I remember correctly both walker of hearts and the boy from Ross county were subsequently banned. As for the game itself I felt we were very good last night, the fact they needed a dodgy penalty to rescue a point against us shows how far we have came in recent months. I thought Hartley, Kipre and Campbell all played very well. Trevor Carson for me has been the signing of the season, he was outstanding last night. What a difference he has made to to the team having a good goalkeeper and that has been reflected on the defence. On a sour note I was very disappointed with some of our "fans" last night. I was sitting down in the Bois section in the east stand, and I am in no way blaming the Bois or accusing those particular guys for what was going on as I am a huge fan of those guys and they certainly make a better atmosphere at fir park. But some of the chants I heard from that part of the ground were a disgrace and for me have no place at fir park. Things such has the lisbons wont see 10 in a row, singing about Bobby sands and then even on the way out there were a few singing the famine is over! Yes people were upset, angry etc after Sunday and then last night but there's no place for that at firpark in my opinion, if you enjoy chants like that then there's new team from govan who will welcome you with open arms!
  10. Anyone know the prices for the game at ibrox on Thursday?
  11. They have already announced their "most important" game between the ugly sisters so I'd like to think it should be sooner rather than later but you just don't know with the people running our game
  12. Must win! Simple as that. I think though a game like this is where the club should be looking to get as many fans through the gates as possible. It's our biggest game of the season so far and we need as many supporters through the gates as possible. Whether that be reduced ticket prices or giving tickets to schools/clubs etc As for the starting 11 I really hope Tait and Moult are fit enough for this one. Both have been missed badly in there spells out
  13. Barraclough got sacked for winning 2 from his first 10 games of the season, 1 of which was against east fife in the cup. We are now on a run of 2 wins in 12, more than likely will become 2 in 13 after Saturday. McGhee has been back at the club for the best part of 18 months. In that time we have lost 7 goals in games twice, lost 6 to Hearts, 5 to Celtic in the cup and had a few doings at home against hearts and Inverness. I don't think McGhee has taken us forward at all. Time for change in my opinion.
  14. It's not just about 3 defeats to the 3 of the leagues best teams, it's more the fact it's 2 wins in 12 games! And it's the way we are losing games as well. He's lost the plot and shouldn't be anywhere near Fir Park! However I don't think the board and those in charge will sack him.
  15. Does anyone have a copy of the questions from this night, wasn't able to make it and enjoy a wee quiz.
  16. Anyone know if there is a specific area for well fans tonight?
  17. I think Burrows does a good job from what I have seen. I totally admit I don't know the ins and outs of his day to day role but the things you do see I think have been for the greater good of the club. The way he stood up for the fans and the club in rangers play off game was first class. For the first time that I can remember he stood his ground for what he thought was best for Motherwell as a club. In recent memory we have had chairmen/gm or whatever moving season ticket holders from their regular seats to accommodate the old firm, so this was refreshing to see someone sticking up for us and not just rolling over and letting them tickle our bellies like we have done in the past. Yes he will and has had made mistakes but who on here hasn't made a mistake or made a judgement error at work? Having a Motherwell man through and through in such a position is a great thing in my opinion.
  18. Haven't read this article as I agree that the daily record is guff however from what I have read on here it seems to the annual party line from the media up here whenever Celtic get put of Europe ,Scottish football is shite! As stated above its nothing that we don't already know
  19. Does anyone know what, if any, supporters buses are still running to away games? Just looking to try find the best way to get to Dingwall next weekend and wondered what buses are still on the go
  20. Loved reading through this thread. My own personal favourites, in no particular order, are KIlmarnock away after we went to admin. Never seen so much emotion at a game in my life. The well fans were amazing that day and showed what a special club we have. Have to mention skippy Sunday aswell, the fact there was so many of the great unwashed around me was priceless! The way it happened was superb! Also the ibrox play off game, Aberdeen on the last day of the season, beating rangers on the last day at fir park to narrowly miss out on finishing 3rd. And the semi final at Easter road

    Well Bois

Could play a couple of them at centre half!
  22. Anyone know if there's still a bus that runs from bellshill and if there's one for this game? Cheers
  23. Would be delighted if skippy decided to stay as long as it's not on "crazy money". He made a huge difference to the team when he came in and would be ideal to possibly bring on someone younger, maybe Moore or a new signing, playing beside him. I also don't think it's any coincidence that Erwin started playing his best football for us once McDonald was playing along side him.
  24. I'm not all that bothered if he stays or he goes. Yes has a lot of potential but he has only been starting games since baraclough came in. He has had some good games and scored a few goals but he's also had some stinkers too! He may turn out to be a top player or he may get another bad injury, who knows. So I think the reported £300-500k we are due is a decent return for a player who has only a handful of starts for us.
  25. If you look back on both legs I don't think I was ever in fear of The Rangers. I think many of us, myself included, were more worried about the effect of 50,000 bigots cheering them on would give them a boost, than we were about the actual footballing ability of the team itself. At fir park I was always confident we could beat them as our home form, against better teams, was pretty good. Just wish the season wasn't finished. Was very similar to last season after Aberdeen, I felt such on such a high leaving the ground and couldn't wait to get to another game. Just hope the feel good factor we had over the last week of the season can carry on to next season
