  1. Another thing that bugs me is the players haven't kicked a ball for three months. Surely they have to be looked at aswell. They didn't like the manager so some of them chucked it.

We might like managers but we still get on with our jobs at the end of the day ( well my boss is my dad :wallbash: ). Shows you how different the world of football is.

  2. The thing I liked about Gannon is that he knew that the older players weren't good enough. Seriously what have Craigan, Lasley and McGarry done since they have been here. From what have heard all McGarry has done this season is moan about Gannon.

  3. Bought the Daily Star today. One the pack page there is an exclusive by Scott Burns reporting that Mark McGhee will approach Jim on a pre contract in Janaury. It also reports that several of Motherwells experienced players are unhappy under Gannon. McGhee is also preparing to bid for Jim Patterson.

Doubt how true the story is, since the The Daily Star is reporting it. Would be a big loss if Jim leaves, who will win the penalties for us :lol:

  4. I would drop Yassil and Coke for thsi game to be honest. Bothwere very poor on Saturday. Didn't go to the game on Tuesday but heard they weren't the best again. Would also drop Craggs for this one. This would be my team:

    Ruddy

    Hateley

    Hammell

    Reynolds

    Saunders

    Jennings

    Lasley

    Forbes

    Humphrey

    O'Brien

    Lukas

No idea what the score will be!

  5. Can any of us say we are surprised by the result? I have to say that I'm not sure where this belief that Gannon would automatically improve his team following Saturday more than McPherson would comes from. Not criticising Gannon, just think that he's not the all knowing messiah...

Away to another SPL side in the cup was always going to be tricky. Particularly when it's a side like St Mirren where we always seem to struggle. I expected to go out of the cup tonight...

I'm the same aswell to be honest. I went to Saturday's game and always felt that we would struggle in the cup game. As usual a big well support ansd the team let them down. Some things never change <_<

  6. I was at the hospitality in the centenary suite yesterday with the family celebrating my dad's 60th birthday. Jim came into the suite and signed autographs. My bib sis mentioned to him that it was by dads birthday. He signed a programme for gim and then came over and wished my dad happpy birthday. He then talked to us for a couple of minutes about the game and the pitch.

It made my dad's day. He was delighted and couldn't beleive that the Jim took time to come over and talk to him.

  7. I would honestly not be to bothered if he went. Last season was fantastic and was some of the best football i have seen watching the well. The season has been a bit of a damp sqiub but we never going to hit the heights of last season.

Anyway if he does go we will move on we can't appoint leitch. The club have made big strides on and off the pitch over the last two years ands we shouldn't go backwards.

We need to get a manager with experiance like we did with McGhee. I would go for Calderwood or Hughes, but doubt they would go. I would even go for McCall.

It's going to be a tight league next year. If McGhee does go and we appoint an inexperianced manager, then it will be a long hard season.

  8. Could be a good move for Davie. He's still under contract so we could get good mony for him. I would sell Reynolds in the summer if we get any offers. He maes far too many mistaes and has been really poor this season.

  9. Thought it was a good game today. One of the better games we have had at falkirk. Thought we had alot of possesion first half, but we ave got nothing up front. To slow to move the ball and some of the players want too much time on the ball. Only got going after their player got sent off.

Arfield had a good game. That is the type of player we need, a box to box midfielder. Also need a captian, not a lot of fight in the team. Mcghee found out a few things for next season:

Lasley is not a right back. Thought he might have gave the young boy Saunders a game.

McLean and Reynolds are not a defensive partnership. Mclean started ok but ok, but got worse. Reynolds was again rotten.

We need width in the team. McGarry and Fitz didn't offer anything out wide. Thought Murphy played well when he came on. Hopefully he starts next week.

John Sutton is terrible and we need a target man like Ports.

Overall though not to disappointed. Thought, Hammell, Kimpl, Clarky and Murphy played well.

  10. Where was the drive, where was the passion, where was the will to win the game.

When the first goal went in, not one player stood up and attempted to gee the team up, the heads all went down, we had nearly 15mins left to play........

Spot on with you comment there. I have noticed that alot this season. Too many feel sorry for themselves when we go one nil down. We are crying out for a leader on the park. We don't have one. That's a must for me in the summer.

As for the game not good enough i'm afraid. Never really tested the keeper. St Miren were well organised. Something that we aren't. They don't lose the type of goals that we do. Second goal was a cracker.

The biggest disappointment was Jim O'Brian today. Totally inept and back to the form he showed at the start of the season. I wouldn't waste my breath ranting about Sutton.

As somebody has already said people at the club need to take a hard look at themselves, espically the manager.

  11. does Angles in uddingston have any leanings towards any team? don't wanna walk in with my 'well top on and get set aboot!!

Angels is a celtic pub. Pretty rotten pub anyway. The two chimneys across the road from it is a rangers/motherwell pub.

  12. It was on Clyde 1 news at 7.30 aswell. Agree with the views. Disappointed to see him go, but it's good money and a good move for the big man. They've got a good chance of promotion, through the play offs.

Think we would need a replacement for porter before monday. Sutton doens't link the play the same as porter.

  13. Darren Smith isn't even a third divison player. It is embarassing that he gets paid to play football.

Anyway thought Jim played ok yesterday. Quinn played a lot better than the last few weeks because he had a outball on the right wing.
