  1. See, I kind of agree with this. I don't go for the 'returning hero' bit as he won't be much of a fucking hero any more if he leads us into a relegation dogfight, even if that happens through no fault of his own (finances, etc). No, go for someone with something to prove (and, erm, good managerial and coaching skills) rather than getting all misty eyed about the past. Maybe someone with no prior connection to the club would best fit the bill but above all else, get it done quick. Our season starts before everyone elses and at this rate John Boyle will have to register himself as a player just to get through our first couple of games.
  2. I just heard from the granny of the uncle of the dug of a mate of a mate that Terry Butcher will be paraded at Shellic park tomorrow morning. Whit? It's nae worse than the rest of the shite oan here
  3. Exactly, I think the current deal is for around £15m per year. Even after the re-negotiation the new deal will be worth £25m per year although the bigot brothers still hoover up around 40% of it and the rest of us get to run around for the rest like weans at a scramble
  4. I take your point on that but there's a bit of short termism going on there. We're never going to build financially as a club with 5000 punters coming to each game so one of the best ways we can make money is to bring on young players then punt them with a sell-on clause like we did with Faddy. Taking players on loan might make financial sense for a single season but at the end of the day we're handing them back to another team to sell (or play) after putting in the development work. Surely it would be better for us to be developing our own talent (where available)?
  5. That table's mince. If you look at it, the whole table is based on simply awarding 1 point for a yellow and 2 for a red and as we all know by now there's more to it than that.
  6. I don't think it's as simple as just counting the reds and yellows though, is it? http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/s...rem/8039270.stm The SPL delegate at each match scores the teams in five categories and passes these details on to the SFA for entry into the Fair Play database. Delegates award marks out of 10 for positive play and marks out of five for respect towards opponents, respect towards match officials, behaviour of the team officials and behaviour of the crowd. In addition, red and yellow cards, recorded from the referee's report, are taken into consideration with points deducted for those punishments.
  7. I never suggested there were. I'm aware that the moaners are always here. I was simply implying that given the success of last year, this year could be seen as a step backward giving people even more ammunition to greet and whine with. Had we finished 10th last year (not unreasonable given the previous season), this year could easily be seen as progression. I also happen to think that we're a better team than at least 4 teams above us. The recurring theme this year has been to dominate a game in terms of possession but come away with a draw and that needs looked at.
  8. Given the problems we've had with pitch, injuries, losing players like Porter, McCormack, etc. I think the team has done very well not to be in a relegation battle. Sometimes people forget that we attract 5000 punters into our ground every week and I honestly think that the size of your crowd and subsequently a reasonable proportion of your revenue is a good indicator to the relative success you can expect on the pitch. We over-achieved last season and that has led some people to expect that sort of standard then moan when they don't get it (h**s without the bus fare?). It gets right on my tits to sit in the DC and listen to people shouting abuse at their own team instead of getting behind them. Don't know about anyone else but after the 96/97 season fiasco, I'd have taken survival last year and a top 6 this year. We exceeded anyones expectations last year and just missed out this season. I'm as disappointed as anyone but it's far from a disaster.
  9. "It looked it had been caused by organised bams." Fucking class!
  10. What a completely outrageous statement. What you are essentially doing here is admitting that you are incapable of doing your job. It is totally unacceptable for your jumped up little Hitlers to bully kids into not enjoying themselves then hold your hands up and say you're not actually brave/capable enough to deal with proper troublemakers. What a fucking disgrace you are sir. Do the decent thing and resign eh? Then maybe we can have proper security with the balls to apply the same rules to everyone and the intelligence to distribute manpower where it is most needed. Jesus, there are some proper wanks on this board but I've never been more angry at a post than this.
  11. Seriously, fuck 'em. The price is the price. If they're so narrow minded and bigoted as to compare the price they are being charged to the prices charged to only ONE other club in the SPL (yes, guess which one) without considering the prices we have charged other teams' fans or the prices charged at their ground then their argument should be treated with the contempt it deserves. It doesn't matter a fuck what MFC said earlier in the season, the gesture wasn't reciprocated and money was lost, end of. It won't happen again and rightly so. It fucking shits in my sporran hearing the old fucking firm greeting and whining as if they're the only 2 teams in the league when they are bleeding the rest of us dry with their bigotry-and-hatred based support. Can't someone start a rumour in Afghanistan that George Bush, Tony Blair and the entire Israeli security council will be at Parkhead on Sunday? I know they fucked up big time with the airport and all that but rumour has it that big Smeato is on his holibags and second time lucky and all that.
  12. Fuck me, presumably one of those subjects you're excelling at isn't English. I didn't know Motherwell college were doing a Law course but it's nice to see that they've got an active positive discrimination policy for retards.
  13. Aye but chances are they'd settle for a 6 month loan deal. I'm sure he's cup tied anyway.
  14. Good for you pal but since when did what you would do set the moral benchmark for the rest of society? Is this really a good enough reason to hate somebody? If, by chance, the guy just wants to play international football at any cost, what is the problem with that? If, because of his upbringing, he has equal allegiance to two countries, whose business is it but his which of those countries he chooses to play for? What if ROI was his second choice which he regrettably made after being given the impression he would be unlikely to play for Scotland? What if all of the above are true? Why should you give a fuck? I really don't get this narrow-minded attitude at all.
  15. A lot of the problem is just fitba fans in general. It doesn't matter what team you support, there will always be (in comparison to a cross-section of general society) a disproportionate percentage of fans who go out their way to find things to complain about, be outraged about or generally just find offence where none exists. How many people do we all know who are happy to spend 90 minutes calling a player a f****n wank/orange bastard/donkey-eared retard then shout for the polis when the player 'gestures' in retaliation? If you dislike someone because you don't agree with his choice of national team then maybe you should find a fucking hobby because it really is no-ones business but his. Too many people unable to think for theirselves unfortunately and just following the herd who say 'you shouldn't like a player for this reason' and then going 'oh aye that's right enough' while smacking the back of their left wrist with their right hand and dribbling slever down their cheek. Please note that Aiden McGeady is the exception to this. Not because of his choosing ROI over Scotland but simply because he is a whining wee shite with a face you'd never tire of kicking. Rant over.
  16. Naw, you're getting him mixed up with Saltcoats
  17. Fuck off. It's a knob gag dream this.
  18. Hope he doesn't train too hard tonight else he'll be stiff in the morning.
  19. I heard we just missed out on signing his international team mate, Thuminina Slaki. Sorry Ah'll get ma jaicket
  20. Well if it's all the same to you I'll haud off and see how he plays in a Motherwell Jersey. Doesn't seem that long since everybody (masell included) was saying JOB was shite. JOB never even got out the reserves at smellic as far as I know. Honestly canny believe some of the greetin' and whinin' on here. We've got 2 young players on loan, can we not wait and see how they do? How many duds has McGhee signed so far?
  21. Oh for fuck sake! That's it then, he must be shite 'cos your smellic mates say so. What top team are they coaching/scouting/cleaning gutties for?
  22. Agree with most of the comments on here. best of luck to him. Cue that whining wee shite from Oldham to turn up with his 'told you so' pish.
  23. My point was really about the relatively low amount of the 'loan' given the other figures involved. He had been sold a few times in his career by then, at least twice for over a million. Given the signing-on fees, bungs and high wages he must have received in his career, he must have been at least a millionaire and this figure seems a bit odd in light of that. A bit like me being on £50k a year for 10 years and asking my new employer to sub me a tenner. Unless of course he'd pished it all up against a wall.
  24. I've never understood this. He can't exactly have been skint when he signed for us. He got £175k signing on fee and was on over £5k a week, why the fuck would he need to borrow £100k to buy a hoose?
