Anybody seen Burns' rag yet to see who this "initial candidate" is?
mccall according to the back page of the star.

Get Gordon Young in the managers job I say!
-
I missed the cis final as i couldn't get a ticket. When I had went to ticket office most of the allocation had been snapped up by Season Ticket holders. Lessons were indeed learned.
I'm sure if we get a european giant there will be plenty seats left if you indeed want to go. I think i'm right in saying when we played dortmund there were plenty space left in the south stand, keeping in mind the cooper was closed and im also sure our attendances were much better back in those days.
lessons learnt indeed. I'd never heard of anyone struggling for tickets for the final until now, I recall we got an option of a bigger allocation which we took up to cater for demand as well as long ticket office opening hours to make it accessable for people to pick them up,i believe that season was one I did not have a season book and I had no bother atall in getting tickets. As you say though lessons learnt, if you go for a ticket within reasonable time there won't be an issue.
-
It was a pair. Also had a teeny bit in the daily ranger mentioning it, still have the wee segment lol.
Might be hilarious for you but i was gutted not to get any tickets. If we do advance in the europa league and draw a big name then if tickets aren't limited to say 1 or 2 per person then i believe you will get fans who hardly miss games paying over the odds for tickets.
I don't find it hilarious that you had to pay £200 for a pair of tickets but you must have been right unorganised with regards to collection of you're tickets in first place, there was plenty of time in the public sale for anyone who wanted tickets to get tickets. As mentioned before I can't think of a time when 'well fan has wanted a ticket for a match and been unable to get one.
-
Paying £200 for a cup final ticket is perhaps the most hilarious thing I've read on this thread and there has been a lot of ridiculous shite.

Anyone who puts Clarkson in should be slapped IMO.
I Disagree, personally there is others that i'd have infront of him but I can see why people would have him in there. He had a couple of seasons where he didn't meet some peoples expectations, that was always going to be difficult following McFadden in such quick succession but on the whole he was a great servant to motherwell fc, scored some really important goals and had some sterling performances. He really shone in the Mcghee era which lead to us getting a decent transfer fee for him.

Went for murphy

Love a trip to Somerset, fine day out. Not long now.

Still really tempted by this depends who else is able to go as well! Don't really fancy doing it by myself!

Worst time possible to play ICT as they will be full of confidence. As soon as ICT secured promotion i said on here id bet my house on us getting sent up there first game of the season. Now who was it that said they'll take that bet?
Need to troll through the older threads to see where my new house is
good job no one took you're bet up, otherwise you'd be looking for a new house!

their average attendance and single match attendances against the bigger teams.
Sorry, I'm struggling to think of many sell outs at Easter road prior to redevelopment, please enlighten me.
-
And they have fans to fill it!!!!
what's giving you this impression?
-
nor anyone I'd say.
Which is what we'd more that likely end up with, hence me being in no hurry to leave Fir Park.
-
I'm in no hurry to leave Fir Park, it's inevitable it will happen sooner or later with obvious benefits outweighing the negatives regarding the money spent on the upkeep of the stadium/pitch etc but to be honest the thought of a St Mirrenesque stadia in the middle of nowhere doesn't really appeal to me.
-
any news on this or any update ?
No. I'm sure the official site will be able to fill us in when something is sorted. Patience.

Why head in hands, it was a good point? The option to extend by a year is surely an option in favour of the club. If not it is just a one year contract end of. I suppose it just shows that contracts are not worth the paper they are written on as players can just do what they like.
A contract should really suggest that the club do have him at gunpoint if they want to keep him.
I didn't see it as a good point to be honest. There's a lot of factors that need to be taken into account, what I was getting at was it wasn't as simple as the club saying "aye Giles has been no bad, we'll keep him on." If it was that simple this wouldn't be an issue and he'd be signed up for another season.
Here is a Craig Brown quote from the Sun earlier on in the week.
Tom Hateley and Giles Coke have also still to agree new deals and the Fir Park gaffer insists he must be allowed to add to his threadbare squad. He revealed: "I would like another defender, another midfielder and another striker.
"It all depends on whether Tom and Giles sign on and if we get John and Lukas back from Everton.
This indicates he has been offered a deal and is still weighing it up. It doesn't give the impression that the club are holding all the aces.
-
I thought on the coke front we had the option of a second season if he impressed!!
We can't really hold him to gunpoint to extend his deal.
-
Love the home top, not sure about the away though.
-
Why? A new contract has a massive bearing on a players life and isnt something that can just be sorted out in a couple of days. Theres plenty time left for deals to be concluded if the players fancy it. I'm absolutely positive that if they had both came out to the club and said "naw we'r definitely off" then they would be straight out the door and we'd be on the hunt for replacements.
They might not sign new deals, but I think they are both good enough players that are worth a bit of patience.
+1
The amount of over reaction from folk on this forum is unbelieveable, you'd think we'd never been through a close season before.

What's the rush lads?
We have SIX weeks until the Euro game - and even if we don't have a soul in by then it will be a pub team we are playing that I'm sure we can take care of over two legs with:
---------------Fraser-------------
Saunders-Craigan.Reynolds-Hammell
Humphrey--Lasley--Jennings--Forbes
--------Sutton--Murphy----------
Don't get me wrong, playing the entire season with the above mob gives me the fear but I would rather sit it out and add 3 quality players to it than add 5 or 6 random names from the lower leagues the now just for the sake of some
news to curb the boredom.
Relax everyone, enjoy the World Cup, forget about Motherwell for a few weeks and then we all be ready to go
100% correct.
-
Would be delighted if this was true!
-
Aye. More interested in hearing about the 1st team regulars to be honest!
Well. I'm more interested in hearing about players who are wanting to play for Motherwell to be honest!

A trip to Ayr is always a good wee day out looking so forward to that one.
