Not how it works though. Probably the best player we've had at this club in a long, long time was Darren Randolph and we didn't get a penny for him. For me, he was the best goalkeeper in the league the whole time he was here and yet Celtic managed to sell his contemporary Fraser Forster on for 10 million. For every goal Lee Erwin scored Louis Moult has 6 yet I think we'll be doing well to get the same fee.

Moult can sign a pre contract after Christmas. If he's not sold this window we won't get anything for him, so we aren't in a strong negotiating position unless there was a bidding war between a few clubs. It might be its better to keep him and let him go next season depending on what clubs are willing to offer. I know we have offered him a new contract but taking off the. Motherwell specs he'd be mad to sign it.

Dembele was much more accomplished against Stirling. Wasn't at the Livingston match but based on what I've seen it kind of worries me a bit.

The summer football idea is one that has always struck me to as staggeringly stupid. There is no guarantee of better weather, in fact as well can all see looking out the window the weather usually gets worse in June, July and August, with big increases in monthly rainfall and high humidity. Secondly, in terms of European results, I think it probably would help the likes of St. Johnstone for a round or two but then what? It would still be immensely difficult to get a Scottish provincial side anywhere near the groups stages of the Europa League. In the Third Qualifying round last year teams like Spartak Moscow, Hertha Berlin and Lille were put out. Competition in Europe at that level is intense and to put it frankly we just aren't good enough to actually compete at that level any more. And inevitably if Celtic qualified for the group stages of the Champions League the whole media focus would be on why they were playing these matches at the end of the season and how it was hampering their attempts to take the next big step forward. Then there is the possibility of summer competition qualification. OK, that seems unlikely from a Scotland international team perspective in the near future but every two years the SPFL would be in competition with a major international football event. It would be madness. I could go on further but my dinner's ready ha ha ha! -
Ha ha! I have some of the driest pants around here. I'm simply reporting what I saw. First half performance was very poor and I didn't even see much enthusiasm or energy from the players. Second half much better but then what does that say about the guys that were out in the first half? The squad as a whole will have to up its game otherwise we will find ourselves in a similar situation as last season when we relied far too heavily on 2 or 3 players. Based on Saturday we need Cadden and McHugh in the team or we aren't very good. Lots of improvement needed from the rest if we are going to do anything next season. Hopefully we see that in the upcoming matches, didn't see it on Saturday though.

Moult's injury problems might actually be a boon for us. No doubt if he stays it will because other teams have counted it against him.
-
I don't think anyone should read too much into the game yesterday but it should be a concern if half your squad are comprehensively outplayed by a part time League 2 team who are just back their holidays.
-
10 changes at half time. Better 2nd half, higher pace and some real tackles. Looked more effective with Thomas and Cadden on the flanks. Dembele was entertaining, potential cult player.
-
2-0 Bowman. Nice work down the right from Gordon and Cadden and a tidy finish.
-
Miles off the pace, way too many long balls, one up front, defence a shambles, should have been 3-0 down before we scored. On the upside it was a well take goal from Tuton.
-
If only we had access to these infallible scouts we wouldn't have signed two dozen duffers in the last few seasons.
-
Well I'm not in negotiations. I'm just saying what I think they are realistically worth if I was in the market for these players. Two different things.
-
Doubt it. Henaghan isn't worth a dime - realistically. Cadden - you are going to be very lucky to get 500k for a technically limited player, who doesn't score many goals and hasn't kicked a ball in about 6 months. Moult - look what Ross County got for Liam Boyce. There's no chance of getting £1m for him. Would most likely be closer to half of that.
-
Lafferty would be an excellent purchase for any team in this league, even his old team. Well outside our budget though.
-
Sadly there's a few parallels with the Dundee game all those years ago when we got pumped!

I have plenty shades of grey. Laing was fourth choice centre back on merit, was enormously outperformed by an unknown Northern Ireland teenager who came from nowhere midseason, got punted, then helped Inverness a) become the only team in the league to concede more goals than Motherwell, b) stay bottom of the league for virtually the entire duration of his time there and c) get relegated out the league. As for the play offs - is that when we brushed aside Championship level guff who were lucky to get past Queen of the South in the 3rd/4th place quarter final? That's what I'm saying, that's his level.
-
When are people going to get it into their heads that Louis Laing is fucking garbage? Accies level signing - at best.
-
If I could like this 10 times I would.
-
Maybe football these days puts athleticism before ability.
-
I see Michael McGlinchey played for New Zealand in the opening match of the Confederations Cup. Russia won 2-0.
-
Decent defender? When the balls on the ground, it doesn't matter if he has it or the attacker, he doesn't know what to do. He'll head balls all day, say against Rangers or Accies....until someone he comes up against a physical challenge....a Sammon, a Boyd, a big powerful centre forward, then he falls apart again. My first match was in 1982 but when I think "Motherwell nightmares" Henneghan's in the last match at Partick is right up there. I suspect he will be here next season cos I just can't see why anyone would pay cash for him. He'll need to improve big time.

Apparently GMS is away down south.

This is the greatest deception since the Allies fooled the Germans into thinking D Day would be at Calais.

Ha ha! Queens Parks mascot is absolutely terrifying!

Always like hooped socks so that's nice. The actual strip is OK but I think could have been a lot better without unnecessary details and better sponsor positioning. Away strip I quite like, looks quite different and modern although it could be one of those ones where it looks horrible in real life so I'll reserve judgement!
