St Johnstone pretty much have a completely different team from. what started the season. Ali Crawford always makes me feel nervous.
-
Me too. VAR will make it even more pointless for smaller teams to try and compete with the big teams. It's also takes the joy out of the whole point of football - scoring a goal.

That old Tynecastle terrace had the worst toilets of all time.....

Only have to wait another 12 years till the 'Black Socks' 100th anniversary edition.

Maybe you should have a word with some Aberdeen supporters. Didn't like the manager, didn't like the style of football, forced him out and drop from being the 3rd force in Scottish football to 10th in the league this season and eliminated, in their eyes, in the cups by wee teams. OK we've not won for a while but out the last 5 matches I've seen I'd say we've had 3 acceptable performances (Aberdeen, Aberdeen, Hibs) and the two that weren't acceptable we get a point in one of them and the other we lost to a controversial penalty. It could be a lot worse.

It was definitely a 3-4-3 because I was confused when I saw the pre-match line ups and made a point of seeing how we lined up. No secret I'm not Donnelly's biggest fan but I thought he did OK today.

Over the whole season Mugabi has been one of our better players. The fact that Mugabi is even playing at right back tells you how O'Donnell has performed.
-
Do you think he should not changed anything after the last two performances? If he didn't people would be still be complaining.
-
Looked decent at the start of the season. Before he started pulling a caravan.
-
How about none of us have to pay £30 for a ticket to see us pumped by Celtic at Hampden.

You can concentrate on the mistakes if you like but I thought Melkersen looked like the kind of quality buy teams like Hibernian can perhaps bring in at the winter transfer window that we can't. Took both his goals really well, while we have van Veen, who looks like he's being held together with sellotape at the moment.

Cornelius was our best outfield player but I'd give it to Kelly.

Very difficult to judge a performance when the game is pretty much over in the first minute but I thought we played OK and hung in there under difficult circumstances. Didn't get a good view of the Mugabi tackle but it seemed a bit on the wild side. I don't want to say too much about that until I see the TV pictures but if the red was justified that's a massive individual error. Having said that we should probably scored before Hibs took the lead and if we had, that changes the game dynamic massively. Overall though I thought we did reasonably well. Created a few chances, hung in there but our final ball and finishing still needs to improve. Right now it's a mixture of individual errors, poor finishing and delivery and just that little bit of luck that seems to elude teams when they are on a bad run. I've yet too see many teams outside the OF give us a lesson. Need to sharpen up some elements of our game and improve the squad during the summer. Would like to see Cornelius get a run of games now up to the end of the season. EDIT - Just saw the pictures, not a red card for me. Collum is reacting to the Hibs players if you ask me.

I have no idea how that team lines up but calling for the managers head from a team selection is just the daftest knee jerk reaction you can have in football.
-
The ball over the top for Woolery to run on to is probably our best attacking option but it's also the main reason for all the long balls.
-
Team that can't keep a clean sheet Vs Team that can't score This match could cause the Earth to explode if the ball hit's the back of the net (or doesn't).
-
If you want to know how bad the league is just look at Hibs. They have only scored in 2 out of their last 10 matches, won 1, and they have jumped up the league from 7th to 4th!
-
I've said it over and over, I don't think the football is good right now. But people saying they don't remember a time when it's ever been so bad? It was worse just over a year ago. Other folk saying we have nothing to play for but survival? We are 1 point off 4th! We have a realistic chance of going further in the cup, finishing top 6, winning more games than last season, scoring more goals than last season, conceding less than last season, gaining more points than last season. I think the whole thing with Covid and people not being able to attend games before the start of this season has put some peoples sense of perspective out of kilter. The truth is we've been honking to watch, bar a David Turnbull inspired spell, since the money tap was screwed closed in the later days of McCall's era. It's nothing new.

Went for van Veen. Thought he was constantly trying to make something happen. Also couple of nice wrestling moves.

In the last few games Dundee have beaten Hearts at Tynecastle, lost narrowly at Celtic Park and got a draw against Hibernian. They are hardly in disastrous form. As for us, we are on a poor run but we've never lost more than 2 games in a row and there has been 5 draws in the 10. We should be performing better but it's hardly a sackable offence.
-
Well someone imagined Jake Taylor, Lee Lucas and Craig Clay were midfielders but it wasn't necessarily me.
-
I don't disagree with a lot of what you say here but I guess I'd differ in that I don't think we have 'an injection of creativity' and you can't inject what you don't have. For that reason I'd give the manager a pass into next season and see if he can fix that issue. If he can't then there is going to be an issue but I think he's done enough at this point to get the chance.
-
Not a fan. Wouldn't be in my team and my preference is for him to be looking for another club next season. However I do feel a little bit sorry for players when they become targets. I don't think he's not trying it's just he's not good enough and that's not his fault. He's been brought and played at a level of football beyond him by others. I suppose the best thing I can say is I think he's better than Carl McHugh but then considering what I thought about Carl McHugh maybe that's not something to boast about....

Another game, another goal given away by a full back. We need two new full backs next season, end of story. We also need a new midfield. I understand players are nervy, the pitch is worse than a lot of people realise (forget the grass coverage it's very bumpy) but still our passing is terrible. I realise people find the up and over balls frustrating but at this point it might be the only thing in our arsenal. Do you think our midfielders are going to split a defence? They can't make basic passes or bring a ball down. It wasn't a pretty watch but yet again we weren't exactly given a football lesson by the opposition and might have got something more out of the game than we did (Hibs, Aberdeen, Ross County, today). Need to cut out the mistakes and just grind out the results to get us Top 6. As bad as we are the opposition haven't looked any better. Might be a blessing that our next league match is away from home at this point.

Woolery was the only candidate.
