  1. I think we can be quite happy today, solid but perhaps unspectacular performance. Jones looked not bad but I'm sure we'll get a further indication when he gets more games, certainly looked a better bet than Forbes wide left. I'll wait till I see it again before I say for certain, but I'm 99% sure Murphy never touched it for the first goal. No real stand out performers or great talking points for me, but a great three points nonetheless.
  2. They also got Barry Douglas from Queen's Park.
  3. Just seen on the BBC website that Lasley isn't included in the squad so he must be out! Randolph Hateley Craigan Hutchinson Hammell Humphrey Jennings Forbes Jones Murphy Sutton Subs: Saunders, Hollis, McHugh, Page, Casagolda, Meechan, Pollock.
  4. I heard last week it's going to be a Sunday every week as of now.
  5. He goes with nothing but my best wishes, was a great servant to the club and never let speculation affect his attitude on the pitch. If anything I'm slightly disappointed, for him, as Sheffield Wednesday are hardly the biggest name he's been linked with.
  6. How many bookings is a suspension? Seven?

    Inverness

Ditto, had a few great saves in the first half.
  8. Wasn't the worst 0-0 I've ever seen, but a 0-0 all the same. There were some positives, Randolph had a cracking game, Hutchinson was very assured for his first start in over a year, despite his one blip. Murphy was unlucky not to get more out of the game, but you can see the freedom he's got playing through the middle is definitely a good thing for us.
  9. Don't begrudge him his move at all. Has gone about it tactfully and his attitude and application at the club were always spot on. £150,000 will allow us (hopefully) to strengthen other areas that need it. If we were to lose a player of any position, centre back would be it for me. We have the most cover there.
  10. The standard of the product is bad enough draining me of £290 never mind £340. As MJ says further up, we need to learn to operate within our means, not through Boyle personally funding one particular deal or not through some stupid scheme where the fans who already pay over the odds have to dip in to their pockets even more. Imagine your monthly fiver had been on Gow or Casagolda's wages?
  11. Aye, that was the time Xara were struggling financially, they probably paid off their kit designer and passed on the duties to an unassuming Motherwell fan who volunteered!
  12. Was just flicking through all the teams old kits, just remembered Xara blagged your design for St. Johnstone's kit that season, did you ever take that up with them?
  13. Not a chance in hell. Probably even every one of the under 19s earn more than I do and I'm not ploughing cash to line the pockets of someone who earns more than me! It's like a reverse Robin Hood! The day of the Hibs game, the opening day of the season, although not all of it went into the club, I spent £600 that day following Motherwell. I maybe pick and choose the away games I go to, but I've been a season ticket holder since I was seven, so I think I plough enough money into the club. It's up to the club to have a budget that's within our means.
  14. Is there any page like this for away tops?
  15. Nail hit on the head there for me. Our support (or certainly a percentage of those who post on here) must be the one of the hardest to please ever. In Ross Forbes, we have a fine footballer with a great left foot and a terrific eye for a pass- attributes definitely suited to a central midfielder. But the high expectations of our fans expect him to be a world beater in all eleven positions. Lately on here we've seen people moan right, left and centre about the standard of Scottish Football. Part of the issue with the standard of Scottish Football in my opinion is that athleticism is often rated more highly than ability. Then we get a player who has ability and we shun him to a position that someone more "athletic" may be better suited to. Do you think Southampton complained that Matt Le Tissier wasn't much of an athlete? No, they used them to the best of his ability, where he was most suited to play. If we just did the same for Ross Forbes we could get the best out of him. As Cloudy pointed out on a previous thread, you wouldn't catch Barcelona playing Xavi left midfield. A far smaller scale, but the same idea. It is similar to Charlie Adam if you ask me, obviously again on a far smaller scale, but Adam was wasted in the role Rangers played him in, which led to him being criticised- but then he goes to a team who actually play him in a position that brings out the best in his ability and he shines.
  16. See if you pay your money and watch the game, or even watch it live on telly, it would then become relevant for you to either praise or slate players performances. Have you ever submitted a review for a film you've never watched?
  17. As much as I don't think he's a world beater or even a standout and I have been critical of him in the past, I feel this could come back to bite us. His versatility is something we could call upon, he could play in a number of positions to a decent standard, which we'll definitely miss. Can't blame the lad though, best wishes to him.
  18. See if you're qualified to slate his performance and you weren't there, am I allowed to vote for him for man of the match seen as I wasn't there?
  19. Naw he wasn't he was shite! Cause Dosser1886 said so!
  20. So you think it's reasonable to slate someone's performance of what you saw absolutely nothing off? Must be shite being so negative and delusional! You've seen Ross Forbes playing enough times home and away to know he is utter shite, fair enough- start a topic about it, talk about any one of those games where he was "utter shite", but for you to criticise him for a performance you didn't witness is just, as I said the first time ill-informed.
  21. When did you see Holm Kraska? He never played.........
  22. Did these people who are saying Forbes played shite tonight make it back to their computer from Dundee in ten minutes? If you watched the game live fair enough, otherwise fuck off with your ill informed comments! Forbes isn't a wide midfielder in a month of Sundays, our extreme shortage out there forced us to play him there. He hasn't been given even one start at centre midfield since Gannon left.
  23. See some paranoid Sellick fans want Crags to be taken to task over his comments on Sportscene last night. Noticed a boy at work reading this today. Clicky Idiots
  24. I've always thought Murphy and Sutton have looked good upfront together. Even in the games last season where Jutkiewicz was injured, I thought they complemented each other brillianty. If Murphy plays on the shoulder of the last defender, he will score goals. I think we are forgetting the impact Blackman had, he scored a lot of important goals, take those out and we would have lost a fair amount of points this season, even if he had gone a bit stale towards the end. I think Brown used what little money he had in the summer quite badly to be honest. Randolph was obviously a necessity and a good signing, but signing Gow, Blackman and Casagolda was a bit baffling considering we already had three strikers in the squad. One of the three would have sufficed along with a wide man.

    Dundee Game

Would like Greenock Morton in the next round, never been to Cappielow! Thought Craigan had neither his best or worst game in a 'well shirt today, but his through ball to Sutton I think was the best pass I've seen him play as a Motherwell player!
