We knew the style of football we were signing up to when the club gave Robinson the job and subsequent contract extension. Its jusy something well need to get on with and to be fair to Robinsons approach, hes provided a good few memorable nights (which have been few and far between in recent years) thanks to his desire to win at all costs.

Livingstone, Turnbull and Maguire appear to get mentioned if ever Robinson interview now, which is pleasing to hear. With Tait suspended, I wonder if Livingstone has a chance of starting tomorrow...

Ive rated Cadden highly since I first seen him but in order for us to get £600k+ In the summer, I think he needs to start scoring more goals and providing more assists. Unfortunately, that wont be easy playing wingback.

That being the case, we really need to find a natural left back, preferably someone that is comfortable on the ball and can bomb up and down the park. Its a problem position that McCall, Baraclough and McGhee failed to address adequately. I doubt we will find the answer in January but hopefully its top priority for the summer.

Regarding the team, Id like to see us go 4231/433 for the 2nd half of the season with Cadden and Frear higher up the park. Judging by Robinsons comments in December however, a back 3 will remain the preferred approach. That being the case, Id go: Carson Kipre McHugh Dunne Cadden Rose Campbell Bigi Tait Tanner Nadir I think this will go to a replay. Edit - Robinson unsure whether Cadden and Tanner will make it.

If Alan Nixon is tweeting the Aldred link then its likely happening. Done well with Blackpool in league 2 before a poor spell at Bury in league 1. Seemingly not very good with the ball at his feet so he will be in good company across our backline. Other than that, should be a solid option.

Interestingly, he cant get much game time in a defence that has Nicky Devlin and Luke Leahy as regular starters. Potentially suggests there isnt much difference between L1 and some of the better Scottish lower league players. Its been a while since I had such optimism around a signing, Skippy was probably the last. There is talk of Ciftci being a disruptive influence but hopefully he is just the type that needs an arm around the shoulder from Keith. Regarding incomings and outgoings it is shaping up to be the high turnover I anticipated with talk of a 3rd striker. I would be surprised to see Newell make way via loan, he will likely be on peanuts and appears to have impressed the management team. Fisher, Bowman and Dimi though - who knows? Presumably, we are also in the market for a left back. Given the short term nature of our others signings, it would be good if we could identify and invest in a young left back that fits the Marvin/Moult/Kipre mould. If Heneghan returns, Hartley stays on and Cadden/Frear return from injury, we should have more than enough to avoid a stressful end to the season.

You must have missed the midweek trip to Forfar. As good as Hammell was, Ive been struggling to identify games and moments as key highlights specific to him. Maybe thats a reflection of his consistency over the years. The one regret will always be starting the 2011 cup final in midfield, I wonder if him and McCall ever had words about it.
