I presume the balloon is melting the frost and creating a lot of moisture on the pitch, which, when trained upon as it's the only field in the area that isn't frozen, causes it to cut up helluva easy.
Spoke with a groundsman and he told me the problem with the pitch is that due to the bubble being up and hot air blasting away 24/7 the pitch is as dry as a witches tit, therefore it cuts up easily. I'm told that once the frosty weather lifts the covers will come off and old mother nature will take over. It'll all be yesterdays news the morra.

Players come and players go but the heart of the club remain s the support. Some in recent times have left a lot to be desired in the way they have conducted themselves. The big filla has been a model pro IMO throughout his career at the ark and goes with my best wishes.

My recollections go back to the Texaco Cup in the 70's when they rioted because we were beating them. Fans spilled onto the pitch disrupted the flow of a classic 'well performance in the making and they stole the match. Thats when I started to hate them if my memory serves me right. Although age and alcohol may play tricks on an old fella's memory.
