  1. Bloody Hell!!! A journalist with a positive attitude to our game. Pinch me someone!!!!!
  2. QUOTE (desaintsno.12)fuck it, lets do these gypsie pricks That's a bit rich coming from a Mick
  3. An absolute belter of a goal I thought. Watching the highlights Ruddy almost gets his fingertips to it. Bloody thing dips at the last second instead of fizzing over like it should have. Can't fault keeper at all.
  4. Sure I saw half my neighbors amongst them, the rest I've seen on Buchannan St.
  5. Didn't really make out our goal last night, didn't even know who scored but after seeing the highlights, WOW what a scorcher fron young Forbes. Penalty does seem a bit soft though.
  6. Thought Coke was superb last night, my own personal MOM. As stated in another thread though I think Humphreys looks a bit slow for a winger, seemed to be 5 yds short of where you'd expect him to be. Good skills though, first touch, control etc.
  7. Yeah I'm sure. Watched him from the front row of the East stand against Flamurtari, so got to see him close up, seemed to lag behind play a bit. same again last night. Maybe he's got a problem with concentration or just not as "sharp" as he maybe should be.
  8. Agreed, the better team did go through. However I did have hope for a wee win last night and the ref totally killed that. Thought I saw him getting on the Steaua bus last night with a hooker on each arm.

    Paul Mcgrillen

One of my fav players from that era. Couldn't believe it when Mcleish did the deal for Eddie May that sent him to Falkirk.
  10. Terrific performance from all the lads; Hammell,Hutchinson,Reynolds,Forbes, Sutton, all get honourable mentions. But for me it had to be Giles Coke. Solid and silky, can't wait to see him let loose in the Esspeehell. Couple of points, how long before we see a central defence of Huthinson and Reynolds???? Also, a bit concerned about Humphreys, guy has obvious skill but seems a tad slow for a winger.
  11. I agree, best Motherwell player in my lifetime. Although, having Peter Maranello and Bobby Graham in the same team must have helped.
  12. One of the Average White Band. Married a Motherwell lass. Comes to the games with his son when back in the country. As for Tommy Sheridan, wasn't he a pal of Billy Davis? Heard him talking about it on Off the ball a few years now. Probably reverted to being one of "the best supporters in the world" now.
  13. Firstly, I thought Sheridan, when he came on, looked useful and I am generally optimistic about him. Secondly, O'Brien. I thought he was absolutely rotten when he first played for us. But I was really impressed by what I saw on Saturday. TBH I havn't been to a game for a while, so the difference in his play was quite striking to me. Hope he continues to progress. Thirdly. The nationality question! I don't really have a problem with players like McGeady choosing to play for a diddy country. They are well within their rights and I respect that, although I do confess to feel a bit disapointed. However, I will boo and heckle them when they come to play us. This isn't because I'm a bigot but an attempt to put them off their game, a bit of gamesmanship, if you like. If they, like O'Brien, wear the Claret and Amber, then that's different. How dare anyone criticise his freedom of choice.

  15. IMO - we're moving, maybe not in the immediate future but I can't forsee us still being at FP in, say, ten years time. As for the design of any new stadium, I don't reall care what it looks like as long as there are adequate facilities to get a slash and some scran within the half time window. Let's be honest, it's us the fans who make the occaision.
  16. Hope he's back soon but don't want to see him rushed back only partially fit
  17. I also remember a game at FP in the late seventies agains Killie which finished 5-4 to us. Thrilling stuff. Another game with Cooper and Boyd playing piggy in the middle with an opposition player before the guy lost it and booted Boyd in the nuts. Can't remember who or whih club we were playing though.
  18. Havn't we got a bit of a reputation for spoiling other peoples parties?

    Inverurie Game

Maybe it can be transferred to FP to ensure it goes ahead.........no scrub that.
  20. Remember that one well. My dad was a cop and was working that day so couldn't take me. But, he appeared at the house at about 3:30 and said "get your scarf". Up to FP in the back of a police traffic car and watched the second half from the press box along with every Motherwell cop working but not on duty at FP that day. One or two lost their caps when Wullie P scored. Couldn't stop smiling for about a week. Deffo the best day after the '91 cup final for me.
  21. T.V. is here to stay, so get used to it. This is probably the clubs highest source of income, they're not going to kick that gift horse in the goolies are they? Everything that goes with that, such as the shitey kick-off times we'll just have to put up with. The only ways to increase the gates are to field a regularly winning team AND cut the gate prices. 5-10 quid I believe is the right price for whats on offer.
