  1. It makes it easier for the likes of the good DR pompous ego trip to dismiss us as petulant trouble makers if they dismiss us as alchopop'd fuelled little neds.

The truth is the core of the group is between 24-20 and yes there is alot of younger fans like Ricky who stand with us and contribute to the atmosphere as this is something new and exciting even enjoyable, imagine enjoying yourself at a game in the SPL.

Also why change the thread? What happannend at pittodrie in my eyes only served to prove the need for this campaign! Selective censorship here!

  2. Sorry, I chose a poor quote in my previous post - I am interested in the basis for the assumption that the bill isn't really about sectarianism, its actually about criminalising football fans 'for anything which could be interpreted as offensive'. The bill is self-evidently about behaviour at football - is that your main objection?

Football-based sectarianism is a clear and identifiable social ill in Scotland and it perfectly appropriate to legislate against it in isolation. It fills our casualty wards and is recognised and associated with Scotland by ordinary people throughout Europe. Many of them would have watched the highlights of the problem OF derby last season, the 'highlights' of which were one of the most viewed items on BBC's website, which in turn is one of the most viewed websites in the world. That is why the Scottish Government wants to legislate against, and they probably aren't secretly hoping to penalise Well fans for sticking up two fingers at St Mirrian fans, or whatever.

What do you think a bill addressing sectarianism across society, the so-called 'real-causes' of sectarianism would look like? The 'Lets Make the Central Belt of Scotland More Affluent, Tolerant and Better Educated Bill'? I'm sorry, but the old 'sectarianism is Scotland's problem not football's problem and that is what we should address' line is just another Old firm cliché presented to avoid responsibility and maintain the status quo. We should avoid those. yes.gif

the problem old firm derby I take it you mean the one where players mangers and backroom staff were acting like children and throwing handbags about? By using this point you are yourself using media and old firm cliche's as as I remember there was no widespread trouble in the stands out of the ordinary? Taking out the sectarian problems that may or may not have occurred this bill is a direct action against fans due to the behaviour of players and managers?

  3. As said this is campaign group actually built together by different groups within our support coming together for this one cause, we are not interested as a "group" in anything else other than opposing this bill, thy different trusts and comitee's can still do their own thing were are not wanting to become another "faction".

  4. This story is running on the Supporters Trust website. What is going on? Is this a Trust initiative?

    All very odd.

It's a combination of various groups of Motherwell fans the singing section, supporters trust, one step beyond fanzine and many others.

This bill needs a united opposition not just from us but every support it is going to effect.

  5. Think about it.

Have you ever shouted at a ref, an opposition player/manager your own players managers?

Ever sang a light hearted song at the opposition support?

Fancy 5years in jail for doing so because 1 individual copper deems it in his OPINION offensive?

It's disproportionate and unecceasary, law abiding football fans are allready treated far worse than Joe public this new bill is only going to make things worse.

  6. There Is laws and legislation in place allready to combat these issue's the number of arrests made for sectarian breach of the peace I allready quite substantial.

The bill this is against is not needed and is only going to criminalise your normal fan, this bill will give any Individual police person to arrest you if they feel you have said or done anything remotely offensive. Simply put it gives he police power to arrest you based on their own opinion.

I don't think there is any doubt we are against sectarianism and bigotry but this law will be used more freely in situations where the crowd is smaller and individuals can e more easily singled out ie everywhere apart from an old firm crowd which it is meant to target!

They will make arrests at every smaller club for minimal disturbances if that because it is easier an builds up their statitistics which will then be used and manipulated to prove this is working.

We are not going to let Motherwell fans be victims of a political propaganda.

  7. Some quotes from the green brigade forum to get everyone fired up for tomorrow.

    We'll have a massive tifo.

We'll have 25,000 people doing the huddle.

We'll have the loudest noise ever recorded when we lift the trophy

Wonder what the Motherwell fans will have?

    fuck all :) ;D

Front row seat to see the best fans in the world :P

16000 people crying at the end ;D

    ???

  8. http://http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z5LW07FTJbI

Was it not that, that was playing in the away end at Odense and had the full end bouncing and swinging their scarfs?

The one I've heard, and is played all over German, Dutch and Belgian grounds, is Zombie Nation by Kernkraft 400. Sounds fuckin' tremendous when all the fans are doing it. The more colour(Shirts, scarves, smoke bombs etc..) plus a right good bouncy and it would look and sound amazing at the final.

  9. This chat about standing if you want to sit you shouldn't be in the singing section.

You join in the singing while your bum is plastered to the seat in one of the other thousands of seats.

Some folk might want to celebrate the day by standing singing and god forbid bouncing!

This only highlights the argument that there should be a choice.

  10. Does it matter if you have never sung it?!

Coming up to a major landmark in the history of our club we are living something that will be remembered and talked about in 20,40,60 years time.

I love the fact fans are wanting and eager to create history start a song that can be sung for years to come with good memories?

  11. Three little birds has been sung down at the end for over a year now you are all welcome to join in outside cup finals.

In order for this to work whatever song needs to be played over the tannoy and a determined effort from the crowd to sing it against Kilmarnock can't just turn up and expect everyone to burst into it on final day.

  12. Bear in mind we are talking about thousands of sheets.

The guys are in contact with other groups as they have been for years it's been a struggle for fans of every team to get this kind of thing in the popular mindset its looking good that there is alot of folk actively interested on here.

As dee said a3 is about the best aslong as it's sturdy enough I doubt the finish on them matters whatever is the cheapest?

  13. This is a horrible thread the hard men mouthing off on here about stuff the clearly know nothing about are a million times more cringey and embarrassing.

You don't like it you don't get it, give it a break.
