Oh aye, how confident did Murphy look? His first touch about 15 seconds after coming on the pitch was an amazing wee run, left about 5 Hearts players for deed then got snapped.

He seemed to playing a defensive midfield role, didn't get forward too much. To be honest he fitted in so well I totally forgot it was his debut. Seemed confident on the ball and got stuck in when needed. Well done to him. Aye, just a dead leg according to McCall. To be fair he was doing a tough job. I don't think directly replacing Sutton as the target man for high punts was playing him to his strengths as he doesn't seem to be able to win much in the air. To his credit he worked hard and closed their defence down well on a few occassions. I dunno, he showed the odd we glimpses and being an eternal optimist I tend to cling onto these things although mibbe it's time I let go

St Johnstone will fancy their chances against us I reckon. On a normal day I'd say our squad is marginally better than theirs however if all our key players put in a performance then we could pump them but if not then it'll be pretty tight. Any idea how many tickets have been sold?

Hopefully the days e-mail will be something the folk that were doing their nut on Wednesday night will think about. Bit o perspective eh.

Here's a thought for the future... If the streamers are anything to go by it seems this stuff works out a no bad price if you buy it in bulk. Before big matches why not buy a load and sell it outside the ground? I mean if it's six quid for a box of 20 streamers (roughly 30p each) and I'm sure you could sell them 2x for a pound or something. It would spread the stuff right through the crowd and save the hassle or distributing them. I'm sure folk with kids wouldny mind spending a couple of pound on stuff like that. I'm not saying this as a money making scheme, you could work with the club on it. Say to them if they can help out with the money up front then they'll get the whole lot back and the rest can be donated to the Youth Development Fund (another incentive for folk to buy). That way you do yer part in spreading a bit of atmosphere and the club benefits financially. Good idea? Pish idea?

Whens he contracted till?

Canny argue with whats been said so far. Still early days but seems to be on the right track. Aside from the fitba really like the way he conducts himself, there is a clip of him on youtube apologising to Bradford fans after a match and thought that took some guts, not something many managers would do.

Any progress?

Delighted with the result, excellent performance from the back 4 and Humphrey in particular but think veryone played their part at some point in the game. I think we can take it as a massive positive that we managed without Jennings and Lasley not being up to his usual standards.

Just sent a few pounds your way. Impressive stuff by the way, well done to everyone whos been trying to add a bit of life to the stands over the last few years. Hopefully with perseverance the attitude will spread a bit.

Canny beat a night like that. Seriously.

I know it's at Hampden but would this be your first choice of grounds for the semi? I can see both sides of the argument, it would be great to play in front of a full house somewhere but I'm sure to some of the players part of the reward should be walking out at Hampden. After tonights performance I'm no really geein a fuck either way the now.

2-1 vs Celtic 96. Howie took a skelp to the heed and Dolan saved the day. 2-2 vs Dunfermline 97. Last day relegation battle. Fir park was rammed. 6-2 vs Hibs 97. 2 nil down in under ten minutes then pumped them the rest of the game. Don't know if those games stick out more because I was 13 year old and only just started going to games. Fuckin great memories. More recent times would be 2-1 vs dons to clinch Europe, 2-2 with Hearts the same season for obvious reasons. I'm in no doubt 5-3 vs Dundee United would be in there too on purely footballing terms. And of course 6-6. Don't gee a fuck that it was pish fitba, only worth a point and made no difference to anything. Easily the most exciting game I've been to.
