  1. St Mirren in the main have been losing narrowly all season, we on the otherhand have been getting pumped, in the last 4 games we have conceded 15 of the poorest goals you are likely to see a professional team concede. We have scored one goal in the same time frame, our main source of supply appears to be Josh Law, a right back from the English non-leagues. We appear rudderless, unable to do the basics, lethargic, disinterested, heartless, devoid of motivation, lacking leadership from all sides and criminally unfit. Teams around us including County and St Mirren are starting to play some decent football, have turned to hungrier players which seems to be slowly working. We are still unable to play any semblance of football and we haven't convinced or looked the superior side in any of the 27 matches we have played this season. The teams above us are miles ahead and it will be almost impossible to catch 9th place.

All these factors point to a very tough fight against relegation and I for one, cannot see where the change in fortune is coming from. This simply cannot be dismissed as "pant wetting" or "melodrama", it is unfortunately a stark reality of where this club is heading at the current moment in time. We ARE the worst team in this league right now, this is the present and no talk of 2nd place finishes will change that fact. Baws need kicked, those with motivational issues can fuck off right now, firm direction from the top is needed as is financial backing to a new manager who is being hung out to dry here. He must be allowed to bring in several new players before the transfer window ends. This season is very much in danger of imploding around us and by the time some(if any) stern action is taken it may be far too late.

    What he said! :(

  2. I dont care how many were from open play or dodgy pens,we lost 5 goals to a Part-Time team, thats unforgiveable. And in the process, blew an easy £750k, Everyone from the manager to the first team squad should have the last 2 weeks wages docked and put into the Well Society for that abomination. And as for "Keef" aye I agree keep him out of our box, preferably on the bench until his fitness is somewhat comparable to that of a pro footballer, same happened last season and the one before, shite for 5 months then some big games in the last round of matches, how he got a 2 year deal is beyond me.

For me,and Ive never been a fan of him, but Id like to see McCall on his way now. Yes weve had great league finishes but considering the City clubs have been either rebuilding or completely imploding is finishing 2nd or 3rd with the calibre of players weve had really that remarkable?

A great achievement aye but weve now posted losses of what? £1m? during his managerial tenure. A tenure that has seen us shit it and gift a win to 3rd Div Rangers, 10 man (for 81 mins) Aberdeen,A penalty loss to a freefalling Hibs, plus Albion Rovers + Stjarnan, the 2 worst results in the Clubs 128 year history, Albion + Stjarnan alone would have netted us £1m if we had won. We are developing no youngsters, McCall only grudgingly plays one of our youngsters only if there is no-one else left, thats desparation, not development. He has handed out 2 year deals to 3 of the worst keepers i can ever remember us having,as well as 35yo Keef, and Bob McfuckingHugh and has instilled a culture of poor fitness and preparation.

Id fucking sell my kids for the chance to get paid £1k pw + bonuses, playing 1 football match, having sundays + wednesdays off and a working day the rest of the time of 2-3 hours. Added to 6 weeks off in the Summer where I didnt even have to bother keeping myself in any kind of fitness and getting a weeks paid lads holiday to the sun for my efforts. Id be a scratch golfer,Nandos afficionado and FIFA expert in no time. No wonder everyone at Fir Park loves their job!

Exactly this!!! These people are in a comfort zone they need shaken out of!!

  3. i had a look about for info and this is from the official site

Remarkably few stats are available pre-war, the famous one is that McFadyen scored 52 of the 119 goals in the title-winning season. I suppose it's pretty likely that at least one of the other forwards exceeded 20 goals.

  4. given that we scored 100+ goals three seasons in a row in the early 30s i'd say it has almost certainly happened before.

Unlikely, as McFadyen scored almost half the goals in each of these 3 seasons, however possibly Ferrier or Stevenson also exceeded 20 in one of those seasons

  5. Exactly Juan. The expectation levels in here drive me mental at times. When (not if) we eventually settle back down to our natural level of anything between 5th and 8th, I have no idea how some folk will cope, The Samaritans had better get themselves geared up!!

Losing to Berwick Rangers in a league match in 1980/81, now THAT'S unacceptable, though I'm sure none of the doom n gloom merchants were even born then

  6. Stuart McCall is once again spot on with his comments, and I am as I always have been 100% right behind the gaffer .Its a sad day when a guy who brings champions league football to Motherwell is lambasted by his own fans for speaking the truth.

I wonder how Mr McCall feels now that, by their actions in attempting to settle a sporting dispute through a civil court, the team he feels we can't live without has jeopardised Motherwell's future participation in Europe?

Their arrogance knows no bounds, they have cheated all of us for nearly 20 years, destroyed the competitiveness of Scottish football with their Bank of Scotland funded spending sprees, and yet, not one ounce of remorse from any of them, just a continuation of their arrogance and supremacist culture. Although when people like McCall and Alistair Johnston spout their nonsense, who can blame them?

The sooner this cancer of a football club is eradicated from the face of the earth, the better for all decent human beings.

    Rant over!!! :wallbash:

  7. Stand up man Jay

Exactly what needed to be said.

If our chairman or indeed any managers with the potential to influence the club are watching.

Believe this one small thing from me.

I will cancel all subscriptions and potential investements I have with the club and personally come and remove bricks from the wall that I paid for.

Directors - I will follow you through the press and comment on your every action. I have emailed Fifa and Euefa today as have many otther thousands.

We (and more directely you as directors) have been taken for compliant serfs for years and played week in and out against an illegally subsidised team (read Rangers (IA)

It will not be easily forgotten if you allow ,in any form I mean, any form of these cheats back in to the SPL or equivalent.

Be Carefull Scottish fitba at stake

End of era They never had the money. They just cheated you and Me VOTE ACCORDINGLY

I could not agree more.........Sporting Integrity takes precedence over any money that the bigots may decide to let us have. They CANNOT be voted back in

  8. Sorry Davie,

The car flags have sold very well indeed and unfortunately its an impossible market to predict. We would obviously like to have had more but by the time the first order began to sell quickly there was no more production time at the factory and they are the only manufacturers in the UK. There are options abroad but with an 8 week lead time it is just not possible. In hindsight I should have placed a much larger order and I am kicking myself that I didn't.

    Cheers

    Alan

In response to Eddiemunster who wants the person in charge of procurement to have their baws kicked:

I am the person responsible for procurement and although its probably against my better judgement I feel its important that I respond.

We have attempted to get wigs, sun hats etc but we could not find any available "off the shelf" in our colours. Any we did find were far too expensive to make them a viable option. Again, we can get them manufactured but not within the timescale. Believe me we have tried. We suffer from the very thing that makes us unique. Our colours are very specific so very few companies will have our colours available. If you want blue, red green etc you are laughing as they stock this gear in abundance. Its not that we have not been creative, its just that we have been unable to.

We have however, in a very short production space, managed to bring in bespoke made pin badges, t-shirts, flags, scarves, t-shirts in two designs and 7 different colours and Polo shirts in four different colours.

All of these items were designed by our in house design department and were designed in advance of the semi final. We actually spent three days working with manufacturers who we operate closely with on designs that may have gone in the bin if we had lost. Without this extensive prep work we would have lost vital production time and would have squeezed the window even tighter.

These manufacturers then held production space on the Monday morning just in case we got through and when we did they began manufacture immediately.

We also got the UK's largest transfer manufacturer to turn around transfers for our jerseys within 10 days. This is eight days ahead of their usual lead time and they do this as we are one of their biggest customers and we can use our influence to make this happen.

As "the person responsible for procurement", I co-ordinated all of this on my holidays, effectively taking three days out of my family holiday and sitting in my hotel room sending emails and making phone calls to ensure that we could have as much product on sale as possible.

Since coming back from that holiday (now 4 weeks ago) I have worked every single day along with my staff, operating The Well Shop and also operating the temporary shop in the town centre. Most mornings have seen a 5.30am start and a 9pm finish as we have to stock that shop in the morning and empty it at night. Me and my staff will continue to do this all the way up to kick off on Saturday and will be working right through the match to get everything done.

Leeann Dempster and her staff at Motherwell F.C. have also been working pretty much around the clock as there is so much to be done that goes unseen.

All of this is done at one of our busiest times as we are already working hard preparing for next season.

I don't tell you this to look for sympathy as it is the job I'm paid to do which I very much enjoy. Business has been very good and the atmosphere in the shops has been terrific as the buzz builds toward the final. All of our customers have been brilliant and the mood has been great, even when they have had to endure long queues for both tickets and merchandise. Its been a joy to be working at Motherwell F.C at the moment. These occasions are rare and we are enjoyning every minute.

I tell you this so that maybe you can get an insight into the scale of the task and the effort that goes into it from everyone invloved and that if we didn't manage to get wigs or ribbons its not for the want of trying,

Apologies for the long rant but I feel better now :)

    Cheers

    Alan Provan

    Person in charge of procurement

    The Well Shop

    Alan

Speaking as someone who has worked at 2 football clubs during my career, I welcome your 'rant'.

Most supporters have no idea of the work that goes on behind the scenes, or the lead times involved in producing products for any clubs outwith the OF.

Very possibly demand was underestimated to an extent, but better that than be left with excess '2011 Cup Final' stock rendered virtually unsellable by a defeat (or worth a premium after a victory)

The very nature of football is uncertainty, and unfortunately, that doesn't fit well with other businesses, presumably the one Eddie works in isn't dependent on quite the same number of uncontrollable variables. (I would pretty much guarantee that, as very few are)

On behalf of us all Alan, I appreciate that you have gone 'above and beyond' here and made a right few quid for the Club we all love

    WELL done mate

  9. Thankfully way way way too many to mention.

    Some from Leftfield..........

1-0 at Parkhead 1994, the day after the Beggarz were saved from oblivion. Dougie scores and over 2000 'Well fans sing "Part-time supporters, you're only part-time supporters.

1-0 at Swynecastle 1982, kept the Jambos in the 1st Div and we went up as Champs, and I started work in Edinburgh the following week.

3-2 against the Tims in the Cup in the mid 70's. 2 down at half-time then up step Bobby Graham, Ian Taylor and the Grew to make it 3-2.

3-1 v Spurs in the Texaco Cup 1971. We lost the 1st leg 3-2 and the Double winning Spurs side scored early at Fir Park. Brian Heron, Bobby Watson and Tom Donnelly sent a packed Fir Park wild as we progressed to the Semi.

3-0 v the Buns in 1991 2nd last game of season. Win and they'd won the League, but they were sent packing. Also the Shed's last stand, as seats went in after that.

    What he said!!!!! :yahoo:

  10. Was at all 3. Remember huge Motherwell choir in the Copland Road End at Ibrox, and we won .... not often that happens.

Yep, I was only 10, so witnessed it from the Main Stand with my Dad. This was the same year that the evil h*n done us in the semi final I think?

  11. Thats me gone. Im 16 I spend my own money going to games, travelling to away games and we get treated like this. It'll be the rugby for me as I'm keen on both and try to juggle both and at least that sport in Scotland has some integrity!

And me!! I've been picking and choosing my games for a while now, as every time I go, I feel it wasn't worth the admission price.

Unfortunately, the only way our opinions will be heard is when attendances drop even further, and it will be the Clubs we love that suffer. However, it was the financial incompetents in charge of these Clubs that voted for this nonsense!!

Would the last person to leave Scottish fitba please turn out the lights :wallbash:

  12. Just a couple of weeks ago at the first salad dodgers night that he was saying how fit and well he felt.

Get well soon big man, you promised to come back and egg us on a bit further down the line

Aye, I was there too....get well soon to a true legend. It's worrying right enough, as he is obviously in much better shape than the rest of us salad dodgers, sure we will see him again in a few weeks
