Falkirk out
-
Mon Falkirk, 1 goal takes them through
And let's get after the h**s record of 10-0
-
Happy with that.....................
I hate the Scum as much as anyone, but set that aside and read the 2 statements, and tell me how or why you disagree with them.
Also, Celtic and Rangers have had Joint Venture agreements in place with Setanta for years now to produce their own TV channels, so if they raised concerns a year ago about Setanta's financial state (and I know for a fact that it's been a concern to them for a lot longer than that), then maybe the rest of us should have listened.

One extra day doesn't help. This debate was done to death last year when Scotland went to Macedonia. It takes a minimum of 4 or 5 days to acclimatise, so the best plan is to get in and out as quickly as possible

Does anyone else remember Mike Larnach?
And how about Bob Latchford or Ally Hunter for worst keeper?
Couldn't argue with either Latchford or Hunter. Unbelievably Larnach was for many years our record signing at £100k (about 1977/78??).
Anyone for Alan Mackin? or Alex Spark??

By the way I've been doin some research into how much flights and other transport costs to possible places we can go to. How the hell do you get to Torshavn nobody seems to fly there?
Atlantic Airways - Aberdeen to Vagar (Given the size of the Faores I can't see Vagar being too far from Torshavn
Failing that, I'm sure theres a ferry from Aberdeen too? I'm sure some of the guys who went to HB last time will correct me.

Burns was the manager, but Davie Hay was Chief Scout at the time

http://www.xs4all.nl/~kassiesa/bert/uefa/fairplay.html
Rules are unequivocal, the place has to go to the team highest placed in Scotland's Fair Play League, who haven't already qualified. And even this guy whose knowledge of all matters UEFA is awesome, has us down as front runners

....born in the 1960's basically!
Found this on You Tube (Apologies if it's been posted before, but thought it was brilliant, and should be copied at the 'Ark asap, with Special AKA or Fatcalf leading us!!

That record looks bad on the face of it, but slightly distorted by the fact that the majority of those matches have been against the OF.
Still, must be due to break the run soon, I reckon a hard-fought 2-1 win, with Kelly-Anne, and Sutton scoring

annoying do you even know who they are or know anyone persnally in the group, find it hard to understand why you find the group annoying
Maybe I'm getting old, but an inablilty to spell and punctuate annoys me.

Hold on a minute...I got stick for picking Stuart Rennie, and now we've seen the first pick for Scott Howie!!
Kinda proves my point I suppose, I said at the time that Rennie was the best of a bad lot, and I stand by that. Before all the students try to convince me that Dykstra was a good keeper, bear in mind that a good keeper commands his area and safely collects most crosses!!

I remember MacRae playing for either a Scottish league team or the Under 23's can't remember which, but I'm pretty sure the defenders in front of him were Jardine and McGrain and they were passing it between them when an attacker broke through and MacRae came out and dived at his feet ending up with a broken wrist. He was out for months.
I was speaking to Malcolm Allison about him a year or so ago, and he said he was a terrific 'keeper with great agility but a complete headcase who wanted to play centre forward in training.
Well, he did famously play outfield for us a few times. I remember Ian St John saying in his book that he thought McRae was occasionally spectacular, but not basically sound. Always wondered why his career never really took off when he left us for such a big fee at the time (£100k).
Oh and by the way GIMFC....Gordon Mair??????? aka Night. You havin a laff?

The "too many steps' decision was a farce. Keepers did it every week, and were usually only pulled up on it if they were looking to waste time. It's like the newer rule about keepers holding onto the ball for 6 seconds - how often does that get enforced?
I don't think he was our best keeper, though. McRae tops that list.
Can't really remember that much about McRae, he was the keeper just as I started on the rollercoaster. I picked Rennie as the best of a bad lot really (in hindsight, maybe Maxwell desrved the place), but was never a big fan of Dykstra who seems to be a popular choice particularly among our younger contributors. Always thought he flattered to deceive, and I know a few guys older than me who thought the same of Keith McRae.

Makes me feel really old, looking at some of these selections
I'll go for:
Rennie
Nijholt
Martin
Krivocapic
Wark
Lambert
O'Neill
Cooper
Pettigrew
Graham
McFadden
Too many subs to list

That was before Joe Wark's first testimonial against West Brom in 1978 I think. He came in 3rd behind Laurie Cunningham and Cyrille Regis, just before they gubbed us 8-0
-
Is that no' Jack Ross??
Mo Ross is the ex Rangers right back, and I agree he's definitely worth a punt till the end of the season
-
Q. Mark, what's your priority? Cup or Top 6?
A. Not Top6, Top 3
Quality answer from the gaffer

Can't say a bad word against the big man....always professional, never in the papers giving it the self-publicity thing a la McDonald, McCormack. Signed for nothing, almost a goal every 2 games for a season and a half, and £400k in the bank.....thanks Chris, and all the best for the rest of your career, I'm sure it will be a long and fruitful one.

This thread is soooooo much an age thing it's no true!!
Joe Wark by an absolute mile, then Wullie P, Bobby Graham (the kind of genius that you young boys only ever saw in my number 3), which is Faddy.

Yasssss!!! GIRFUY Jamboscum

FFS how'd he get 4 minutes

Averages are by definition skewed by the Gretna and St Johnstone scenarios where one team finds itself isolated early on and ends up with a very low points total. I don't see that happening this season, so i reckon we need to be looking towards 30 points.

Agree100% mate, those of us who live in the real world realise this stuff happens, and have done it ourselves, but I dont everremember doing it BEFORE I actually got a job!!
