  1. Aye but would you honestly be happy with Saunders + Craggs in the centre of defence? we`d lose some amount of points getting raped for pace + giving away stupid penalties. Better Saunders grows into his role and grows up a bit, he has all the tools but has stupid decision making at times

Saunders has gave away one stupid penalty? He's really quite quick aswell. He's more prone to a mistake at right back because he doesn't look fully comfortable in that position. At centre half I've got ful confidence in the boy.

  2. Hallelujah to that!! The Jim Gannon debate has been done to death but he got me interested in the Scottish game again. He is the only person in the Scottish game who has offered anything different for the last umpty tumpt years. It did not work maybe partly because of the man himself but he had a hell of a lot to fight against.

Craig Brown is fine for us. He will steer us in the calm mediocre waters but he will offer nothing that has not been seen before in the game in this country. Where would Steven Saunders be at this moment as a player if Gannon had stayed? What about Forbes, Hateley, all three played their best football under Gannon. Unfortunately at the moment these players are going backwards.

Jim Gannon was an experiment that did not work. I genuinely believe he could have been the saviour of Scottish Football had he had the temprement and diplomacy to put his thoughts into action. It was a sad day when Stephen Craigan won out over the big guy. That is just my opinion.

Probablly our first choice right back, where he is now.

  3. I'd say it's an inventive striker we need, moreso than somebody in midfield. The Odense games, the Hibs game and the Celtic games we managed to get the ball in and around the 18 yard box rather easily, problem for me is nobody there to make a little bit of something out of nothing like Jutkiewicz or to an extent Porter.

  4. sometimes I wear a shirt sometimes I don't. Sometimes I'll wear a claret and amber ben sherman polo. If we're away from home or in a strange european town the last thing I want is to stand out as an outsider if I get lost or something.

  5. There are plenty of full backs around the 5'7" mark that are doing pretty well for themselves like Cole and Lahm and plenty others, they're hardly the weak spot in their team due to their height. Pace, positioning, and ability to get forward are more important attributes for a full-back than height.

They're not in the SPL though.

  6. What ever gave you that idea?

In the past few seasons they've taken the Scottish Cup ticket out of the season book, taken the reserve tickets out, bumped the Cooper prices up into line with the main stand and felt fine charging our own fans more to watch the Old Firm because otherwise there would have been no other way of fleecing their fans when they come to Fir Park. They charge other traveling fans as much as they would to sit in the South even when they get pumped into the shite seats in the main. And how much is it for a pie nowadays?

There is no reserve league any more!

  7. Some people have work commitments that mean they can't get down to the ticket office at 9am on a Tuesday or whatever.

That is a fairshout but, why as should other folk in the supporters clubs etc get a priority? All people do is moan about tickets on here, and how they should get priority etc.

  8. I have to say that I am more than slightly concerned that we are approaching a new season without a shirt sponsor and, despite the rumours, no sign of one.

Selling the jerseys without a sponsors name doesn't exactly fill me with confidence that a deal is imminent. Incredibly, we have actually offerd to print the name on feach of the jerseys feree of charge once the sponor is announced. Am I the only one who thinks that announcement was NOT aimed at the supporters who buy the jerseys but at any potential sponsor?

Come on, how many really believe there will be a queue for that facility?

Simply put, shirt sponsorship is amajor source of income for clubs like Motherwell and I am extremely concerned that with the new league season only a couple of weeks away our players are playing bare chested.

Aye the sponsor free jerseys may be the bees knees but the reality is we need a name across our chest, and for this club, or any club for that matter, to go into a European tie minus a sponsor is unbelievable.

Could be tbh, kids etc want the same shirt as their idols.

  9. Motherwell feature in 6(approx) games a season on tv so that can't be the only reason,i can't believe if you askd people they would say 'can't be arsed'rather than 'can't afford it'.

The youngsters you talk about are bullied and harrassed for 90 minutes for simply enjoying themselves as part of the bigger campaign by the police/stewards to remove the fun from the game, why are youngsters going to pay in to a game only to get flung out again for standing/singing.

I'm not meaning Motherwell games specificaly. There's alot of people now who'll watch Chelsea play Blackburn at home or in the pub wit a beer than go to a live game. The Polis side is an interesting one though, since Motherwell foot the bill for the Polis in the ground. Maybe if there wasn't as many polis on bumped up overtime rates in the east stand ticket prices could go down...
