It certainly is for me a good call by the club , he's had a number of chances and was found wanting. A new club might be what he needs ,fresh start and all that......I wouldn't put money on it though.
Like everyone else I'm hopeful of a better season ,but the reality is it's just like the last few years , are our signing good or aren't they ,time will tell ,and let's be honest guys who really knows.
Should have moved on years ago ,his potential has been talked about yes, unfortunately its never been fulfilled, always looking for that final baw that seemed tae be missing from his game.
I'm happy with both signings as well, if we're going tae get behind the manager let's start by showing a bit of faith in his signings, these are obviously two players he's been after and we've got them signed up quickly. No just players we've signed as panic buys.
I met Alan on a number of occasions when as our media man he used to cover our under 20's games at Bathgate. Down to earth guy and a Motherwell fan like us. Wasn't to sure when he got the general managers job (or whatever it's called), but he seems to be growing into it and as he says in his interview "he's made mistakes", but learned from them. What I really like is our open relationship between the club and fans. Refreshing.
So it's Robinson next season ,no my choice but I'm not going tae go on about it, getting behind him and the team next season. Hope I'm wrong ,I often am, have a good pre season lads...
Sometimes players sign and it's a good fit ,John Sutton comes to mind as a player who did a good job for Motherwell but struggled at other clubs, well Hearts anyway. Clancy from Killie fitted in well ,as did Higdon.
I've got no doubt whatsoever that if we stay up the powers that be will give Robbo the year left on his contract. Sorry but I foresee another season fighting relegation with a team of ex players and lower league duds, and Robinson in charge ...aye right.
