I forgot Jennings was suspended, kind of makes my point invalid. Still wouldn't start all 4 though.

Stolen from a Ross County fan on P&B.

I understand what you're saying but we played this formation(the one I suggested) against Odense and to me it was the one of our best performances in Europe, created half a dozen good chances and only conceeded due to sloppy defending at a set piece. On another night if we just took one of those early chances we would have went through. I just feel with three in the middle of the park it offers more protection to the defence and still allows us to impose ourselves on the game in an attacking sense.

I think people are putting too much emphasis on how well we done against an Everton team who never got out of first gear. Playing what is essentially almost a 4-2-4 with two frontmen and two wingers will leave us far too open in my opinion and the Greeks will pick us off. I wouldn't want us playing that way against some of the better teams in the SPL never mind Panathanaikos. Everton weren't anywhere near 100% on Saturday and on another day could have had 3 or 4. Bare in mind if we lose one away goal that's bad enough, anymore than that and the second leg becomes almost impossible. It will be hard enough to get a result in Greece without them having an away goal or two in the bank. Of course I'd love us to go to Greece in the lead but not at the expense of losing an away goal, a 0-0 at Fir Park would be not be a bad result and it only takes a Tom Hateley special in Greece to put us in the driving seat.

--------------------------Randolph Saunders----Hutchinson---Ramsden----Hammell ---------------------------Hateley Humphrey-----Lasley--------Law----- ---Murphy --------------------------Higdon Knowing McCall, this is how I think we'll line up. If at the end of the night the scoreboard reads "Panathinaikos 0" it will be a job well done in the first leg.

They said they'd sold over 4,000 tickets before the draw was made on Friday.

1.) Stevie Hammell got a decent turnout, got a big cheer when he came on and went off and seems genuinely touched by all the well wishers. Plus he's made a tidy amount of money into the bargain. 2.) Motherwell got a good work out against top opposition. We looked fitter and sharper than in previous games, some of the fringe/young players gave a good account of themselves also. We avoided serious injury and are one step closer to full fitness. 3.) The fans got a pretty decent game, got to see some top class International players including one of their own returning for a short harmless yet enjoyable cameo. Why some folk are complaining is beyond me. In my book it was an enjoyable and worthwhile game for all involved.

Not to doubt you but IF we had agreed to sell Murphy I imagine we'd be getting a decent wedge, 200k upwards. As a club desperate for money, if we had that money coming do you really think we would risk him getting injured in a friendly and them potentially pulling the plug..

Seen McCall said on MFC TV that Page & Saunders have picked up slight knocks and won't be risked against Everton. Fucking hell, this is going to be some makeshift defence we put out tomorrow. Although on the plus side young Adam Cummins seems to be available, liked the look of him against Aberdeen last year. So he might get the nod at centre back with Ramsden. With either Hateley or Devlin at full back. EDIT- From the Everton website. I know it's a friendly and results don't matter etc. but I hope we improve from the last few games or particularly with our weakned defence this could be another pumping.

I think folk are giving too much too this Faddy appearance. It will be a 15-20 minute cameo at the end of the game once the rest of the team has had a workout. Look at the game against Ayr, we brought on 5 or 6 youngsters who probably aren't all ready for first team action and most of them won't be involved in the Champions League game basically just for a run out to make up numbers. The first team is the priority sure, however if Faddy gets 15 minutes at the end it's hardly going to disrupt things. As David said, enjoy it! You might never see it again..

View from the away end. Fuck knows what the wee gazebo is about? Still, looking forward to visting a new stadium.

On twitter Faddy's playing.

Page is 6''2 is he not? That's taller than Clancy, Craigan etc. So I can't see how he can be too short.
-
Yeh, Brian Kerr plays for Arbroath does he not? As in who we're playing on Wednesday. You sure that's not what they're talking about?

Bit random but does anyone know why there's a load of old highlights of us against Aberdeen in the First Team highlights section? Is this the beginning of them uploading 'classic' games? Some good games there. Clarky's double at Pittodrie. The 3-1 up there with Hamilton's 35 yard screamer. The 3-1 win at Fir Park with Skippy running riot. Plenty of defeats mind. Just wondered.

No danger of a relegation battle. Ross County have Micheal Fraser in goal, Marc Fitzpatrick at left back & Stevie Craig as one of their striking options. Along with proven SPL shite like Ross Tokely, Martin Scott, Marc Corcaran & their top scorer last season was Colin Mcmenamin. And worse still Dundee have Kevin McBride at the heart of their midfield. Along with other shite. We still have some of the best attacking options in the league and as things stand we still have one of the best starting 11's. We may be weaker but so are most teams, Aberdeen are the only team in my opinion who are stronger than last season. If we stay injury free we will be up in the fight for Europe in my opinion, however a few injuries in key areas(paticularly Hutch if Saturday's anything to go by) then we could struggle for top 6 but will still be clear of the relegation fight. Even if we do get a few injuries at least some of the young lads will get some first team experience which will be vital as they'll be making up most of the first team the following season. Of course plenty can happen in the coming weeks, but as things stand I think we'll be top six and hopefully a decent run in a cup. Although with the state of Scottish football I'll take some of the youngsters getting blooded, a safe mid table position & the club staying out of trouble. Can't wait for the Champions League game and the trip up to Dingwall. Glad this farce is almost over and we can get back to the fitba!

Not too concerned. Sounds like we were well on top, lost a few goals on the break and then sort of just dropped off. First game back however I would hope McCall will tell them they better buck up their ideas for Tuesday. Champions League game is only a few weeks away. Need to step it up, if we play this poorly again on Tuesday then I'll be concerned. Few points from listening, the Page-Ramsden combo sounds brutal. Also young Hethrington sounds like he's been fairly productive since he's come on, maybe deserves at least a half on Tuesday.

Highlights the difference in quality if you ask me, all Scottish clubs were knocked out early doors while the likes of Huddersfield and Brentford lit up european football last season.

Alan Temple @alanftemple Followed by Amazing how easy it is for a random to start a rumour like this and for it to grow arms and legs. Nothing in it.

Faddy was definitely at Fir Park today, and is still training with us. Getting closer to the pitch as well. Could drop kick him onto it from there.

You offer no balance though. What about Vaz Te, couldn't kick his own arse at Hibs managing only one goal in 10 games. Signs for Barnsley, scores goals for fun in the Championship and won himself a six figure move move to West Ham where he scores the winner in the play-off final. He's now a Premiership player. Whilst we're on play-offs what about Stephen Dobbie. Failed at Rangers, Hibs, St.Johnstone and as late as 2007 found himself playing for Dumbarton in the Scottish Third division. He's played in the last three Championship play-off finals and is considered a 'top championship player'. Jason Scotland never set the SPL on fire. Yet he was one of the top marksman in League 1 & the Championship and won himself a multi million pound move to Wigan. Yes you could throw some more names at me who done well in the SPL but failed to make it down south. And I could come back with some more who flopped here and done well down there etc. It's almost impossible to compare two leagues, there are too many variables. Back on topic, we won't be signing anyone until the whole farce around Scottish football is resolved. Good luck to Jenno, I imagine the whole betting thing has put a few teams off.
