John ruddy was released because Norwich can no longer afford to pay his £37k a week wage. Not too far away from our total football wage bill I would imagine

Ruddy released by Norwich, I suspect well out of our financial league but take him back in a heartbeat.
Edt: Also Sean Welsh of Partick released I always thought he was pretty solid .

Ross County were on holiday though and still beat them.

See Rancid article where Clancy and Walsh are rated 2nd and 3rd. We must have a right rank rotten bunch of refs.

I see where you guys are coming from but I would point out that Sevco were a shambles with a new manager on board and a shit team. Hibs were in free fall with a shit manager. I would argue this would be the same as Caley this season (although last 2 games kind off challenges my argument) and Hamilton are a team who can't defend or score. The 2 Championship clubs have goal scoring strikers the SPL clubs have shit defences and in Caley's case Goalie. Last season Killie had made changes and were on the way up. I suppose time will tell. I just hate Dougie Imrie and hope whatever happens the little Holsenshcizer will be plying his trade in the Championship.

You think so? History tells us the Premiership club is more likely to win, and in the end it's not a real contest.
I think the quality of the SPL has fallen in recent years whilst the Championship has closed gap (see cup results). I would not have expected us to beat either.

Irrespective of who goes down automatically the other will likely get beaten by Falkirk or UTD. So probably best if we do win for extra cash but would not loose sleep if Accies go down automatically either.

Brian Heron?
I seem to remember Ross McCormack scoring a few. But maybe just imagining things.

Sorry, I'm probably in a minority of one, but assuming they get a win over Dundee tonight, I'll be cheering on ICT to survive on Saturday.
We're safe and I'd love to see Accies go down instead of Inverness.
Minority of 2.

Home now time to open mine that was sitting in the car the whole game
I think I've given myself an ulcer.
You and me both. Just opened the wine to upset it further. The joys of being a Well fan.
Phew, That was exciting. Now the big summer rebuild begins. Credit to the team for digging out 2 big wins when it mattered.
Was Blyth injured and we have just not seen the best of him or is he just shite?
Unfortunately there was one unsavoury incident in front of us. I missed the start of it but my wife and son said that a group of about 5/6 45-year-old casuals sat in the front row but one of their group decided he was going to sit right behind them in row B. The fact that every seat was taken didn't bother the wee ned and he just pushed a guy away from his seat and told him to find somewhere else. He didn't give a shit about any comments from anyone around him, threatened to fight the guy whose seat he had taken when the man went to get a steward and rounded on the man's mate when he dared to touch him to say to him to calm down. The second guy then left to find his mate and took him to find another pair of seats rather than face the hassle and it was only because the guy and his mate who suffered were ordinary decent guys who didn't want trouble that the wee wanker didn't get the fight that he seemed to be ready to welcome. By the time I knew what was going on, it was all virtually over but the wee arsehole was the sort who was totally unconcerned of what anyone thought of him as long as he got his own way. I know you get all sorts among a fan base but there sure are some who embarrass you to think they support the same club.
Sounds like the wee Ned can't hold his drink. Prick.
I was not a great supporter of Robinson's appointment. However, if we stay up I would give him the chance to build a team to play to his ideas of how the team should play. We have had terrible luck with injuries to our defence and he has had to patch things together. However, if we continue to leak silly goals next year he will have no excuses.
Mixed feelings on McCall, we had some good seasons and the cup run without ever playing really great football. But he did chuck it and left us in a mess which he could have compounded by getting us relegated.
I heard from a Horse's mouth at the Sponsors Dinner that MCGhee lost the plot, he wads changing formations and line-ups at last minute. Training was shit and confusing. The Horse that I spoke to was happy the prick left (his words!!!).
Ugly game, Ugly opponents, Ugly stadium, Ugly goal, beautiful 3 points. Get up you Imrie. COYW.

Sacking a manager now wont have any imapct on us staying up as by the time we've replaced him the season will be all but over. On the other hand whatever division we are in next year i'd much rather have a manager who knows his players and has the opportunity to stengthen his team which a manager coming in September/October time wont have.
It has worked for Dundee!!!
I suspect it’s just a matter of time before we get relegated. It could be this season, or the next but it’s on the horizon. Hibernian and Dundee United probably thought they were too good to go down, however, look what happened to them. We rode our luck through previous non ‘relegations’, but I suspect the lower leagues will be calling our name sooner rather than later. Maybe it’s for the best as it will give us an opportunity to rebuild for the future. It worked in the early 80s and I don’t see why it can’t again. Our days of finishing second or third are a distant memory and the prospect of relegation this season just got real.
I tend to agree with a lot of what you are saying. Although I would argue that Hibs and Dundee Utd were better teams than we are just now and had the resources to survive for a couple of seasons down in the Championship. Like you I have seen a few relegations but I don't see anyway back for us soon as we don't have the resources under our WS model. We will need to rely on youth and these need good management and coaching. unfortunately not something we have at the club. I see an extended spell out of the SPL and could see us dropping further.
Another game. Another self-inflicted defeat.
I've sometimes found it a little frustrating the way some of our support can cut the team absolutely no slack at all. Like the chat last week where some seemed unwilling to show any sympathy for, what to my mind at least, was the undisputable fact that officiating errors had cost us both points and places; instead preferring to focus on highlighting the deficiencies of the team.
If I've learned anything from today, it's that we all having our breaking point where the sympathy runs thin!
Like Dundee last week we've shafted ourselves and despite that once again our opponents were hardly in it and it was a game we should never have lost, I find myself thinking that indeed we have nobody to blame but ourselves.
It was a shockingly bad few minutes. From the seemingly unnecessary decision by Robinson to replace Hammell with Jules, the unfathomable decision by Jules to keep that ball in play on the by-line when it was going out and McHugh hesitating rather than getting the ball to fuck, it was shambolic stuff.
We're fucking it up big style and we're doing it all by ourselves.
To have the opportunity to go into that Accies game next weekend three points clear of them and in the knowledge could just about make us safe and come up with such an insipid uninspiring display is so disappointing. And whilst not playing particularly well to still have all those set piece opportunities and do nothing with them is equally frustrating.
I must confess my faith has been dented somewhat in the last week, or perhaps more accurately my trust in the team to be able to do what is necessary without a fuck up along the way has been dented.
Very nervous indeed about next Saturday.
Andy welcome to the dark side I agree some of us have been focus sussing on deficiencies but some of the performances have been atrocious and even allowing for the fact we have been unfortunate with decisions we should not have been in a position to have to rely on these. We are disorganised, have no real fight and too many players avoiding responsibility. I hate criticising the team but this is the worst team I have seen in my all my time supporting the club. We did have some bright spots but overall this season has been shit from start to finish. Changes required in Board, management and playing squad starting at the end of this season irrespective of what happens. I do hope that even if we stay up the board realise that current set up is not working.

So if we distinguish between on field performance and the running of the club as they are two distinct entities, explain how the latter needs heads to roll?
Keeping McGhee after the Aberdeen game and then appointing Robinson. These decisions will be disastrous for our season.
Cheap option, given the gig after moves for preferred candidates never came to fruition.
No coincidence that after binning him Oldham went on a run to secure their league one safety.
Failure to push the boat out to get someone with experience at the helm when we are in such a precarious position is quickly coming back to haunt us.
Maybe he'll be a good Championship level manager.
If he was the best of all the interviewees, it must have been a shit shortlist.
Nope, reliable source.
Oh My good lord we will be in Division 1. Might be the trendiest team in the Championship too as he has very nice hair.

Good news about truing camp in Dublin. Hopefully get the players fit. Also noticed Robinsons comments about a lot of new players to be integrated. Hopefully team will come out of the traps like Mcghee's pre season in Austria.
