Used to visit Baku regularly until a few years ago. Plenty of bars and lots of ahem ....ladies of the night (so I was reliably informed!!!). Went to see the Azebaijan v Turkey WC qualifier at some run down stadium in the town centre and it was manic from the policing to there being only 1 entry way in to the ground. Bloody frightening with 50,000 nutters. Small number of Turkish fans were pelted with bottles and cans. Police just stood by watching. It was a local derby of sorts. There was a smaller satium nearer the airport which is where we would play. Would be fun to visit again but take plenty of money as police corruption is rife (minor traffic vilotaions by your taxi driver can cost a fortune). Also, you need backsheesh to get in and out of the country, due to "visa issues".

They are mainly frustrated that Wiggy is not paying up but still think it will definately happen, becaue they are a "bigger club". The guys in my office are not 100% sure he is the right man for the job and he will have the same problems as Calderwood (nae money). Also, they are betting he will be touting for the Scotland job if Burley gets punted later in the year.

Article in todays Scotsman suggesting that the gap is now down to £25k. Says we are looking for £265k I asume that must be some compo for Leach too. P&J have similar story in which they say the Dons offered £175k for both. The also quote MM salary as £200k a year!!!

Difficult one this. Clearly he wants out and now most of the fans want him to GTF. However, if it means the Sheep are trying to do this on the cheap and we get no compensation then what do we do? Keep him to his contract and he walks after a season of him not caring (albeit that damages his market value) and having disgruntled fans or let him go for nothing? Glad I am not JB (well I am but not that one).

I don't know a lot about Luc's record in management has this been posted somewhere? Loved him as a player but would hate to make an appointment on "legend" status and it fails. Gordon Chisholm' s name has been mentioned and I thought he has done ok working with limited resources. Might fit the bill.

Thanks and good bye Mutley. I think McGhee is a competent manager and did very well forthe first 3/4 of his first season. Last year he was average at best. However, he has not left any team without some rancour with the fans/owners. He is clearly a mercanary and if I was an Aberdeen fan I would be mightily pis sed off that he only started the sentimentality bit after Celtic told him he was 6th in line. Not a lot of support for him from Dons fans I work with. I predict a falling out with Milne/Miller within 9 months. Aberdeen are almost £10mm in debt, need a new stadium (getting land and help from the council who are also bust) and they have no cash for players. So unless a miracle happens and Milne gives him some cash he is in the same shit as at the Well. But onwards and upwards and we will hopefully appoint a quality manger to build on the last couple of seasons efforts.

I remember the old days when the put the half time scores up on boards but you needed to buy a programme to know who was planing in Game A, B etc. As I could never afford a programme I never knew the scores nor cared, PA's are for poofs
