  1. Mind it....and sure I've still got it up in the loft somewhere!
  2. Just a thought - might the departure of Clarkson and/or Quinn (if confirmed) be an indication that the new manager has either been chosen, or at least narrowed down to a short list, and they have indicated that they don't want those particular players, and would rather have the money to bring in their own??
  3. To an extent, you've answered your own questions..... As you say, we survive by being a selling club - your investment as a season ticket holder is part of that survival, but with the size of our support there is always ging to be the need to sell players and (hopefully) bring on replacements. McGhee's mentality in not signing up players is clear - he had no intention of still being here, and hoped to take some of them with him. He has not been working for us for months. Sometimes it's 2 steps forward and 3 back, but sometimes (like the last couple of seasons), it's 3 forward and 2 back. It's part of the deal when you support the club, and not individuals. Players and managers may go, they may be missed in the short term, but we have lost better players than those going now and become stronger. We deal with it and move on. Certainly, with the potential loss of TV money things will be difficult, but I support Motherwell, not any individual who happens to play for, or manage, or even own, the club for a short period. Whatever is necessary for the club to survive is OK by me.
  4. Actually, I don't think I did. They don't want to commit to changing the venue because they can't guarantee enough of an attendance to justify it. Your suggestion only gives them the guarantee of income AFTER they have already committed to the change in venue, so they may still stand to lose out. My suggestion (or theirs that JB guarantees the cash - not that I think that's viable) gives them the guaranteed income BEFORE they change venue.
  5. Maybe they can't send us tickets when they haven't decided the venue yet. MFC could sell us away leg ticket vouchers for £20, and that would give Llanelli a guarantee of income before they print tickets or decide the venue. Then if the first leg kills the game they still get their money. Problem there is that MFC would have to organise voucher sales/distribution and ticket distribution for the same match in a short period of time. Of course, if they're keeping it at their home ground because they want the advantage if the tie is still undecided, then no argument with that.
  6. Or maybe people who, with limited funds, shell out for a season ticket, programmes, 50/50 tickets, and spend money in the shop on the basis that they'd rather their money goes to their own club than a rival, deserve a ticket more....... Funny how so many people think the profile of the fan who deserves the tickets most is so similar to themselves.
  7. I hear "sources" quoted on AFC chat are saying Calderwood to Falkirk, Hughes to us, McGhee to Aberdeen......
  8. If a section of it failed that doesn't mean the system as a whole wasn't working (or didn't exist). Wasn't the pitch relaid last summer, and how do you know FOR A FACT what was and wasn't done at that time? Still no evidence to support your case, just some people who'd rather assume the worst than stick to the facts. No-one on here actually knows the truth (or will admit it). A threadbare pitch is hardly a suprise if its a new surface, has had little time to mature and is subject to the usual Scottish wather.
  9. But that's not quite true, is it? Hasn't the club consistently said that a section of the undersoil heating failed? That might not be the statement that you want, but it IS a statement. If anyone knows FOR A FACT that the undersoil heating isn't working then I haven't seen that evidence. If the SPL have fallen for a smokescreen from the club that a non-existent USH system failed, then that makes them even more of a joke, but it just might be possible that the SPL have seen evidence that there was a working system up until it failed, and it can't be repaired during the season.
  10. You don't just need bigger crowds - they need to be big enough to offset the price reduction. For example, at half the price you obviously need twice as many paying punters to come in, and I don't know if any price cuts have evenr yielded that much of a response. You also risk alienating season ticket holders who might feel their investment is being devalued if reductions are implemented mid-season. Maybe the club could tell us the facts and figures, while they're giving us the facts about the OF ticket prices, the undersoil heating......
  11. Could anyone make use of a couple of complimentary tickets for the Phil O'Donnell stand for Wednesday night (mate's unwanted raffle prize)? Let me know via PM if you want them.
