Typical preseason game. Loads of our lads were a good bit off the pace (link up play, passes too short/too long, positional play, beating players etc.) but their fitness wasn't too bad. Forfar had a few beer guts on show but should have got the draw to be honest Least they deserved as they were a decent side. Hollis looks like a decent back up keeper, Weston got hurt (although looked a good bit short of match sharpness), Humphrey can still run fast in a straight line and under hit/over hit the majority of crosses, Sutton goes into every game like it is VERY important and gives maximum effort, Shuker could be a new signing imo and Gazapo won't be a new signing imo. Hoping for Broon's first eleven to play on Saturday. Hope to see Hateley in the team as well. I think he is missed a great deal when he is out. Good win right enough and nice wee ground.

NO WAY, CB would rush into a costly panic buy that could financially hinder our season just to accomodate a Europa League qualifier. SPL is still more important and he will want to get the right striker for that. Indeed. Or up front with McHugh......who has already scored in the Europa League.

I wisnae impressed myself. If he is the same against Forfar and Ayr then it will be cheerio no doubt. Hopefully we will see the player that Brown and Knox hope he is.

I personally thought Gazapo was poor but obviously we need to give him another chance against Forfar and/or Ayr United to see what he can do. Although these are friendlies if he can't perform against teams of that standard what chance does he have in the SPL against the OF etc.? At this stage though I will be surprised if we signed him. Shuker could go either way. Looked to be a bit short of match fitness and wasn't involved in the first 45 much but had a quality second half. Should have been on the score sheet as well. Should get at least an hour against Forfar imo. Quality wee ground and I was well 'warned'about the hedge Was that you that got chucked out decorator for jumping the barrier to get photies? Not a fan of the kit we were wearing but agree about Motherwell over the WC.

Was never coming back imo as I was sure Everton were going to cash in on him. All the best to him. Norwich have bought themselves a fine 'keeper. Fair few 'Well connections at that club at the moment.

Certainly gone pretty quiet on this front. Imagine that will be due to qualifying for Europe again. Potentially a midweek game during the season now. Anyone heard anything else?

I know this is only a friendly and solely arranged to give the squad match practice and work on their fitness before our first Europa League game a week on Thursday.......but I thought I'd try and generate some discussion nonetheless Looking to head up to the game myself. Not too sure what CB and AK will do in the sense of giving established first team players like Craigan, Hammell, Jennings, Hateley, Sutton, Murphy etc. 90 minutes or whether he will try and give the whole squad some game time. Be interesting to see what he does with the goalkeeping position. I take it Fraser is still in SA and won't be available. Does he give the full 90 mins to Randolph or 45 mins each to our apparent new number one and Hollis? Does he play Hutchinson instead of Reynolds incase the latter is away come the 15th? Regardless of result I'd like to see how the team *might* shape up for next season and maybe even get to see a few of the new 'graduates' from our under 19 team make an appearance. Still think we will win 3-0 though
