The first step on improving the forum, what are your thoughts on the shoutbox?

Aye those background images are huge, although they are the size recommended by the skin author, there's a wee bit of fiddling to make more than 4 available, but it could be done for a lesser resolution than 2560 x 1200, not sure anyone's screen should be that size

Compost corner would seem to have been superceded by facebook & Twitter although the NSFW forum is buried in there and that has value, no point throwing out the baby with the bath water on day one, I've learned a helluva lot the past 3 weeks so hopefull of improving the forum look & feel as well as accessability.

The shoutbox could be disabled during matches if that would encourage match thread chat. Open to suggestions at all times folks

Well that seemed to go smoothly enough, shoutbox will be installed promptly and I'll get on the case of skinning the forum with the custom theme. If there are any suggestions/bugs then please use the forum at the bottom of the front page to report them or send a PM

I thought the biggest room in the house was the South Stand...

It should be fixed at the moment, but we've no idea of the exploit used, it's easily repaired but the security of the forum etc means it's time to upgrade.

Been messing around with the new skin these are very rough tests of what's achievable. The backgrounds are customisable and I just flung in some images I had lying around. This is where we'd like your help/input. It's your forum so we're looking for 4 images to fill the background space, image size should be 2560 x 1200 preferably high quality and provide decent contrast. Folks, The recent security issues causing link re-directs brought to mind again that the site is long overdue an upgrade to help prevent such problems and to give it a much needed makeover. We're fortunate in that the advertising as it stands just about covers the hosting of the site, which runs to a three figure sum each month incidentally, but for software, skins and the like, that requires a bit of additional investment. Steelmen Online comes in for a fair bit of stick, some of it justified, much of it undeserved but for many it's the first Motherwell page they'll go to when turning on their phones, tablets and PC's every day. As users of the site we hope you'll consider contributing a small amount that will enable us to do the software upgrades that will help us enhance the look of the site and give us a buffer should the hosting costs rise in the future.
