  1. Another utterly sublime press conference from Robbo. Never used to bother watching them under previous managers, but they are must watches now. Such class, honesty and positivity and the way he bats away all the fishing questions - which is further evidence of how embarrassing our MSM is in Scotland - is superb. He won't be tripped up by any of these clowns, no matter how many pitfalls the lay down.
  2. I think Burrows has played a blinder with a few of his replies to the seethe on Twitter. Along the lines of "we didn't want to mention the fact your trashed our stadium, but since Brown threw accusations we have been hounded for a response from media". The denial from Celtic fans is truly embarrassing, with many now struggling for a retort to their well document behaviour above 'Well fans on Sunday and now claims that they have trashed our stand, again. Many have resorted to calling out "racists monkey chants" at Scott Sinclair without any foundation. I also hope the club also releases images of the damage to the stadium. Staring in the face of 100% irrefutable proof, be amusing to see how they react. Also think results of any investigation into unacceptable behaviour in our end should be well documented to show we as a club follow due process, unlike some. Following this statement we has a chance to truly take the moral high ground above Celtic and conduct ourselves in a befitting manner. Accept blame where due, but turn spotlight on guilty where applicable and see if their club acts accordingly. Will absolutely rile "the best fans in the world", but it is a can of worms they have opened.
  3. Would love some sort of statement like that, but the fallout would be horrific so best left alone. As for attending the game, if you offered me £1000 to attend this game I wouldn't go near it with a barge poll. Will be a venomous atmosphere following on from the weeks events, and both our players and fans will be subject to vile abuse while suffering a limited view. Celtic are simply the worst kind of club and have the worse fans - I don't want to be anywhere near that. If we win - which I doubt to be honest - while it will certainly be a "I was there moment", the angst will just be multiplied to extremes. While be a very unpleasant experience all round, with them having the perceived ammunition to do, say, act in any way they see fit and the SFA/SPFL will not do a thing about it.
  4. Thomson is the worst of the lot for me, closely followed by Madden and Collum. Mention to Murray, Finnie, Allan, McLean and Norris for also being regularly hopeless.
  5. See Burrows has confirmed stuff thrown from South stand as well...including one of the destroyed chairs and a phone charger. This could be some can of worms Brown has opened and maybe this statement will have desired effect. Now got Celtic fans claiming monkey chants aimed at Sinclair as well. Thats a new one. Absolutely no shame.
  6. Club has released a statement but as per website has went into meltdown so bo idea what it says. Celtic fans seethe at the ready...
  7. But they are paranoid victimised hypocritical fannies. Just because they get away with scummery does not mean for one second we are OK to do it. We should be self policing this pish out our club. Yeah, saw the picture. No issue with the little diving fuck doing that - I'd be the same to be honest. Was more saying that the twitter account going on about Griffiths throwing stuff into crowd also thinks the "shhh" from Sinclair is a sanctionable action - which of course it isn't - which made me think it was all a lot of bollocks. Us throwing stuff onto pitch is embarrassing and not acceptable. Griffiths retaliating thou?? Wonder how that would go down if it was one of our players?
  8. Does anyone know what the chat with objects being thrown onto the park was? Also, saw something on Twitter about Griffiths throwing something into the crowd. Same account did claim that Sinclair's "Shhh" gesture when he scored to East Stand was provocative similar to Higdon, etc so may be a lot of nonsense.
  9. The thing that gets me, this whole "there was contact" pish. It's a contact sport!!
  10. Superb post Clarkscat! Agree with every word.
  11. For me, it has very little to do with Celtic. There fans are just the worst winners when it comes to these things that draws more frustration from opposing fans making it about them - then calling everyone "obsessed". It's about the standard of refereeing in the country, the bias inherent throughout for whatever reason, the complete lack of accountability and the insubstantial review, appraisal and appeals process. The great irony is by Celtic's own perception they have been "victim" to this standard of refereeing more than any other team, and the reaction of their manager, fans and players over the past two games greatly diminishes any momentum to make the clear lack of consistency and integrity from our referees a major talking point in the hope we fix it. When the time comes again when Celtic get a dodgy decision against them, no one associated with their club has any right to complain - and I will politely remind them all about the past two games. "Swings and roundabouts" is the term, and it's true, but year on year they swings and roundabouts are getting bigger and bigger. A complete review and change is needed to the benefit of EVERY single club in Scotland.
  12. Quote from Rodgers press conference last night is just stirring it again ahead of Saturday. Also confirmed it was a stonewall penalty, so that will be the end of the debate in the MSM then. For all the positives a manager of his pedigree has brought to Scottish Football, this is point scoring of the cheapest kind. What a fanny. Hope this is pinned up on the dressing room wall next few days.
  13. A statement would mean very little in a campaign for change. It would be about working angles, networking and building support with other clubs and supporters, and for me that's probably what he is best at. When it gets to that point when any idea for change is ready to progress to SPFL/SFA board level, thats when the media can no longer ignore it. The demotion of Sevco showed that despite the power, influence and fear the Bigot Brothers bring, provincial fans must appease their own fans first and foremost and that ground-up movement can force the SFA/SPFL's hand. The Old Firm may be the big players, but without the other 46 clubs what are they?!
  14. While I get what you are saying, in today's digital age any journalist brave enough to make a stand would get the social media support. Maybe not the exposure of newspapers, TV or radio sure, but would be an origin point. Something has to give.
  15. The only thing that will work will be an extreme retrospective ban and fine for any player caught diving/cheating. 8 games and 2 weeks salary. I know it sounds extreme, but if sanctions are that tough surely it would not only help prevent it but encourage more honesty and integrity from players - bring in an element of self-refereeing. Would even extend it somewhat to managers who come out with ridiculous statements contradicting TV evidence for bringing the integrity of the game into disrepute. Would have to be FIFA lead, which means its very unlikely to ever happen sadly. When you think about it, you face much larger sanctions if a professional football in Scotland puts a coupon on Peruvian football than you do for blatantly diving.
  16. Get what you are saying, but you are overlooking the elephant in the room that when it came to reform opportunities when Rangers died Aberdeen were the team to stand up and block it. Like you, I was underwhelmed by Burrows and do not believe he is exempt from criticism, but he has been terrific in 90% of what he has done for the club and the comment from Steelboy is miles out. Thats not to say we don't need someone to make a stand and say the games up and we need to fix it, for the benefit of all teams. The amount of fans of other SPFL teams (excluding The Rangers) tweeting that tonight/Sunday was never a penalty tells me we are not the only supporters fed up of the shite as well. Needs someone to poke their head above the bile and start demanding review and change. Burrows could be just the man for that job.
  17. Great point as well, although for me that for me is a lack of integrity over corruption. The point you make about things being played out in the press is very valid. A friend of mine who can't stand football (big rugby fan) said that we have a reputation for being hatchet men, which he has obviously gleamed from the press. And we most certainly aren't hatchet me. Big, strong, aggressive; yes, but never a dirty team. That perception has been allowed to flourish through utterly inept reporting from the MSM following on from Bowman-gate. I'm not a legal expert, but pretty sure a lot of the stuff published in very libellous. So this "perception" is most definitely on the Old Firm fans mind, as the only ones still stupid enough to digest our sports press in this country, and that will affect the game. For me, it is also seeping into the minds of referees where they are believing what is written by absolute hatchet "journalists". We need new rules and laws to govern this, managers who categorically deny wrong doing when it is later proved (ie, was definitely a penalty) one game touchline ban for bringing game into disrepute. We also need journalists who can press the status quo and question the bullshit, not bowing down to the manager of ANY team. Finally we need a controlling body that can take control from two clubs and not be afraid to stand up to them. Celtic/Rangers has zero authority over the SFA, yet the spineless cowards in charge are terrified of them. For what? I would love to see the club lawyer up over this an make a real issue over it. Until someone does, then it will never change. Our refs will still be incompetent, the media will control the agenda and the big clubs will get all the decisions.
  18. For me, I'd add third option that ties into both other summaries...they aren't held accountable. This allows incompotence to fester and go unchecked and allow a degree of morale corruption to seep in. Far greater transparency is needed...post match comments from referees, post match review panel, public rating system from SFA, VAR where possible, having refs wear a mic, etc. This will allow a far better understanding, and dare I say sympathy, for the role of a referee and could almost immediately end any festering corruption and bring some positivity to what is a veru hard role. The state of our refs lie firmly at the SFA's door and something has been needed for a long time. Only on song with us right now due to two horrendous penalty decisiona in 4 days.
  19. PSG has 8.8x Celtic wage budget, who in turn have 17.7x our wage budget. So using the 7.1 logic, they should be beating us by at least a dozen goals.
  20. Think the club have to come out swinging from this one, would expext a call to SFA to ask them to explain the standard of referee incompotence. Its utterly embarrassing to Scottish football as a whole. Baw is burst. Should just kick off from our penalty spot on Saturday to save us the hassle.
  21. What was the carry on with stuff being thrown onto park?? Few mentions on twitter and even BBC has mentioned it.
  22. No reason why we can't do both. Bit of positivity.
  23. Their increased dominance following the demise of their bigot brother has turned them into the worst kind of fans ever - absorbing the Peepul's "simply the best" mantra, but bastardised with their traditional great green paranoia and exaggeration to form a whole new breed of cuntery. The MSM just hoovers it up, polishing the shite into an embarrassing wank-fest of blinkered veneration. Objective reporting and journalism in Scottish football is completely lost. If we win tonight (or Saturday) to end their streak and there is any dodgy decision going against them whatsoever the seethe would be unlike anything ever witnessed in Scottish Football. Greater than Bowman-gate, bigger than the play-off scandal, even more rage inducing than Skippy Sunday. And if we do, I will bask in all it's wonderfully glory.
  24. I don't and agree 100%. Saw on twitter what they were reporting and always happy to take time to further devalue theor shoddy reputatation until they no longer exist.
