Not sure where we go from here to be honest. Losing soft goals, unable to score. Midfield poor. If it wasn’t for Kelly I’d be worried about a relegation battle coming. Aberdeen at 29/20 on Sat looks like buying money.

Alexander just throwing sh1t at the wall every game and hoping something sticks. No wonder the players have no idea what we’re trying to do!

Thought the 3 centre halves all played well last night, but had to go for Kelly for 2 great saves towards the end. Don’t get the nominations for Slattery, played 1 very good pass to put Van Veen through on goal in the 2nd half, apart from that I thought he looked out of sorts and out of position (too far forward). Although it’s bloody hard to see anything at that far end when your behind the goals!

I’d change McGuire & McGinley for Slattery & Carroll. Would also have Shaw in for Donnelly if he was fit. The rest with a rocket up them after that 2nd half on Tue night. Fancy a 3-1 win.

Are we always awful the first game back after the winter break or is it my imagination?

History says when we’re bad under Alexander we’re very bad, just living up to that….

Do we have any subs?! Been crying out for fresh legs in the middle of the park.

Thought Donnelly controlled the midfield and had an excellent game given how long it’s been since he started in the Premier League. Cornelius and Van Veen both took their goals really well, however had to go for one of the centre halves as they were both outstanding. Sol shades it from big Bevis.

Was sceptical of Alexander before this week, despite his record being good on paper. Now I’m finished with him, constantly picks the wrong team i.e all of Carroll, Donnelly and Van Veen would improve that first 11. Leaving us outnumbered in midfield every game, not stopping crosses, allowing teams all the space they want until they get in the box, short corners, long throws, everyone back at corners etc etc

Lose midweek and we’re bang in trouble. 2 or 3 players starting week in week out that should be no where near this level of football. Add to that our “best” players playing poorly and we’re only heading one way. Agree with others that 3-5-2 is the way forward with Lamie or Solholm and Carroll coming in at the back and Ohara into midfield (on the right) with McGinley, Grimshaw and Woolery making way.

Grimmy is going to complete this game. Not only that he’s going to complete it in the middle of a midfield 3……Unbelievable…

Good god that’s never a pen! For once we get a soft one for us :-)

Anyone else feel like we have all 3 midfield players playing in the wrong positions? Surely the balance would be better with Grimshaw right, Slattery centre and Goss left?!

We have made 1 change so far tonight with 2 mins to go! After this performance how is that possible?!

If Alexander doesn’t have a couple of midfields up his sleeve before I week on Sunday I fear the worst. Donnelly & Ohara may be good enough but the 3 tonight are either not good enough, not ready or both.

Obviously early days in terms of the season but that was abysmal. Slow in thought and movement, no real pattern of play, lost two very soft goals to just about their only attacks, but I it’s great to be back. :-(

Good god, I know it’s essential pre season but this has been worse than any of us could have imagined. Completely outplayed and should be 2 or 3 down in all honesty. All 3 midfielder players so far off premier league level its unreal.

I’ve joined. Happy to play for fun or chuck in £5/10.

Deffo a big miss for us next season, hasn’t been as good this season but he is without a doubt one of the best defenders in the league. Shouldn’t kick another ball for us and the shenanigans that may have gone on around his contract need to be made clear to the fans given they own the club.
