  1. Seen another poster linked this video in the ICT game thread so thought I would add it in here: Thought the atmosphere was really good yesterday, there was a period of about 20 minutes in the 2nd half where it seemed to dry up but other than that it was consistent and loud. Some newish songs aired and like Neil said on here, not sure if it was in this thread of the match thread, they are all simple, catchy and seemed to go down a treat! Lets remember though its easy enough to do well when were winning, lets hope we can continue this throughout the season, even on the rare occasions when were not top of the league As Rico mentioned, quite a few folk had brought their own wavey flags and that really helped to improve the colour in the section, keep up the good work guys
  2. Alright folks, As you will know there was a group of us who helped put together the cup final display and a few other displays at Fir Park and I believe that towards the end of the season the overall atmosphere at 'Well games was improving, with the United cup replay being one of the best nights at Fir Park in many years. Moving on in to the new season we would like to try our best to help improve the atmosphere and colour at Fir Park and would like to encourage as many others as possible to do so. Recently I visited Alesund in Norway and took in 2 game whilst I was over there and what really sprung to my attention was how many fans got involved in the singing. Men, women and children of all ages standing together, waving flags and generally just having a fantastic time supporting their local team. This is pretty much a contrast to Scottish football where you usually find, for example in the last section of the East Stand, a group of young males usually ranging from about 14 - late 20s singing the songs. Now I know this is down to many cultural differences and other factors such as traditions etc. and it will never be quite the same in Scotland but I would love to urge as many people as possible to help improve these things at Fir Park. Other teams in Scotland have introduced singing sections this season, with the obvious areas at the Old Firm; the Green Brigade at Celtic Park and The Blue Order and Union Bears joining up in the Broomloan at Ibrox this year. Added to this are Hibs who are trying to get a "12th man" singing section in the stand which used to be the shed and Aberdeen having a singing section. It is clear to those that go to Fir Park that the last section of the East Stand is the "unofficial" singing section so hopefully we can push on and have a good wee section that is consistent with singing throughout. Tomorrow we have a display planned for the teams coming out and we would love for as many people as possible to participate. Anyone can get involved so if interested please make your way to the end section of the East prior to kick off. Also, If anyone in the main has the opportunity it would be great if you could get some photos also. Looking forward to a new season, Mon the 'Well
  3. Buzzing for the game tomorrow! Got 3 Nancy fans coming over for their first visit to Fir Park so hopefully they get to see a comfortable 'Well win. We finished last season on a high depsite not winning the cup and the atmospheres were improving. We have a small display planned for the teams coming out, nothing major but would be great if those interested could get down to the last section of the East Stand prior to kick-off to participate and get the noise levels up!

    East Stand

Don't usually like to moan on here but I have to agree with what has been said. If you look at clubs all over the world, hate to say it but the OF being the perfect example, they play songs which get the fans up for the game. Now I know we don't have 'Well songs but surely there is better things the guy could play than the current crap thats being blared out!
  5. The more I think about this Leeds game the more I look forward to it. I see on the Thames Valley Whites website that their is potentially going to be a game in Norway? I'm over seeing Aalesund on these dates so that could be a belter, any further confirmation or info on that? I will be going along to the Falkirk game also!
  6. http://twitter.com/#!/robbie9fowler Brilliant to see his @ comments are just filled with Well fans telling him to sign!
  7. Sure McGarry has been involved in a few tweets!
  8. Not sure who exactly started the tweeting to Robbie Fowler, I think it was a 'Well fan called David McLean but over the past week or so various Motherwell fans have been sending messages to Robbie Fowler asking him to sign for Motherwell. This started when he announced he has left Perth Glory to return to the UK and wants to find a club. Earlier he asked "seriously, why are so many people asking me to sign for Motherwell?" then when I asked him if there was hope for Well fans he replied "Not my call..." If you have Twitter join the Fowler to Motherwell Campaign. His username is Robbie9Fowler
  9. Delighted at the prospect of watching Leeds at Fir Park. Marching on together
  10. "There was always a great atmosphere here when I played and I'm looking forward to having the fans on my side for a change!" A dig at 'Well fans or just praising the Jambos?
  11. Alright guys, First post I think I have made on here since the final. Firstly can I say a massive thanks to everyone involved; from those who donated to those who helped set up and even those who turned up on the day knew nothing about it but still participated as without all of those people it would not have been possible. Another special thanks must go to the Supporters Advisory Committee who were a fantastic help in liasing with contacts and another thanks to the people at the club; Leeann Dempster, Alan Marshall etc who were great to deal with along the way. Personally I am delighted with the participation and the way it turned out, especially for our first display on this scale. The photos look excellent so lets hope more keep appearing. Moving on, as many of you know, we are aiming to create a much better atmosphere both at Fir Park and at away games. This will be from more organised displays, a lot more colour with flags, banners etc and most importantly through vocal support. We would like to encourage as many people as possible to get involved in taking this forward as possible so please if you are interested contact me via PM or send an email over to wearemotherwell@hotmail.co.uk and I am sure someone will let you know about any future plans we have. Finally, like someone mentioned in a previous post, we are still a bit short on the display so any donations would be greatly appreciated. Thanks again everyone for making this possible!!
  12. If they pull there's off it will be quality but it's not easy to do. Ours will be amazing also! Can I just say thanks very much to everyone who helped out today, it's much appreciated and I look forward to seeing it tomorrow!
  13. I am aware the person who took this has made himself known to the club, knowing who it is, I am sure you will soon see his photos when he 'decorates' this forum with them. That's a clue btw....
  14. Green Brigade Statement- "We will be organising a display for the cup final on Saturday against Motherwell. This one will be perhaps our most ambitious and intricate yet in terms of design. We ask all those in the East stand to help us in pulling this off, as we need 100% participation in order for it to work. We'd greatly appreciate if you could pass this along to anyone you know who is going to match. Lets hope that we can out-do them both in colour and noise!
  15. Just a big thanks to Del who sent me out his bucket hat, arrived the other day and it looks quality! Cheers mate
  16. Cheers to everyone who has downloaded the song so far, seem to be getting quite a bit of good feedback on that front! With regards to the night on Thursday, it looks like its going to be a busy one so please get down early to avoid disapointment...

  20. Alright guys, Just thought I would let you all know that local band The Banter Thiefs have recorded a song for the Scottish Cup Final called 20 Years On and the song will be getting it's first play tonight at the home game against Kilmarnock. The song started out as just a bit of fun with the band as they are all 'Well fans and hopefully it will give other Well fans something to sing in the build up to the final on the 21st May. The lyrics are simply, cheesy and the riff is Status Quo-esque so lets all take it in good spirits. Download here: http://thebanterthiefs.bandcamp.com/ and through the official website soon with a percentage of sales being donated to Youth Development.... For more about the band you can add them on Facebook: http://www.facebook....thebanterthiefs , Myspace: http://www.facebook....thebanterthiefs and follow them on Twitter: http://twitter.com/#...thebanterthiefs There will also be a sort of Launch Night / Cup Final warm up party in the Cooper Suite on Thursday 19th May with the band playing the cup final song, Melting Pot DJ's spinning the decks and famous Motherwell goals on the big screens. Entry will be £3 and there will also be raffles to win Motherwell related prizes.
  21. Cheers Del, much appreciated I will keep this thread open incase del can't find his and anyone else has one as?
  22. Probably a long shot here but thought I'd give it a try. I have seen a few people wearing the old Motherwell bucket hats this season which I am sure are from the 91 season. Does anyone have one of these which they do not wear or wouldn't mind selling? Absolute crackers and I'm desperate to get one for the final! Cheers in advance.
