  1. Tbh i'd rather go back to SKY aswell. Like it says in the article it will offer better exposure of the Scottish game. Setanta's coverage was pish while SKY were always a step ahead of them when it came to the build up of games etc. Bring back Jim White and Champagne Charlie! And also the 5 past 6 kick off's on a Sunday! :O

  2. The journey to Nancy on the train from paris with Stevie Craigans maw n da. She loves a gaviscon.

Can't believe i went through that whole journey with nae eyebrows! Ahh those were the days.

Also 5 countries in the one day? Love it!

If we get a team from Luxembourg, does anyone fancy going back through to Nancy for the day? B-)

  3. MacAllister: Great player, fantastic achievements... Gash managerial record!!

Personally I'd be really happy with a Billy Davies, Darren Ferguson or a Luc Nijholt. I think Nijholt has served his apprentice if you like and is ready to make that step back across the water and keep us going on the steady playing field that McGhee has put us on plus a bit of Dutch Total Football is something we have shown signs of when going forward, well more last year than this!

But are we turning into a like for like with the Celtic fans... "We want someone who is Motherwell minded" ??

You must be living in dream land if you think we have the ability to take a manager from a team who will be playing championship football next season?

And Billy Davies???? Why?? Yeah, he mighta been inexperianced in his spell with us as manager but my god, with that money he had, and the wages he was allowed to spend a week was unreal. And what did we get out it? Pushing for Europe in one season?

Wouldn't have the man back near the club. No point in going backwards. Onwards and upwards.

  4. I was resigned to the fact we were losing McGhee that Sunday night/Monday morning when both Calderwood and Strachen left. He was always going to leave us this year as i feel that he think's he has taken us as far he can.

I'd hope that Boyle or any other member on the board were thinking up candidates as soon as these two manager's both left their clubs because if we're slow off the mark with this one i fear we could go into our first two games of the Europa League managerless.

For me i'd like to see John Hughes in there although he looks to be going to either Hibs or Swansea. Terry Butcher would be a step backwards, especially how forward we've been going in the last two seasons. Don't want to see Paul Lambert in there. Can't stand the guy and imagine listening to his pre/post match interviews

Apart from Hughes, i really can't think of anyone else.

  5. I just want his departure confirmed so I can open a can in celebration.

The only possible dampner is that he doesn't take Leitch with him.

Wouldn't open a can in celebration but i can see where you are coming from. Just want it confirmed sooner rather than later to get on with it. Let the players get to know the new manager, how he wants things done etc. Its only about 3 -4 weeks til we're playing proffesional football again. Need to get things sorted and in place.

  6. Would take Imrie and Morais a minute! Don't think taking Foran back could be a move in the right direction? He's had his time at the club.

Anyhow....What about a wee punt on Mr Kerr!!!

Cheerio Brian, Enjoy Division 1 ya bawbag!

  7. Yeah absolute disgrace. Pay 22 quid to sit on yer arse and stay quiet the full game?

Also, after the game went round to the main stand after the game to try and grab a wee photo with Maros. Stewards and Police were shoving the kids around to let some players by, actually giving them a good push! Fucking joke of a club when it comes to the likes of stewarding and security!

  8. Game of the Season: Definitely has to be Dundee Utd for this one. For a 4-0 win and me falling through the gate and onto the trackside! All 4 goals were well worked and Maros got a goal aswell. Awesome day!

Goal of the Season: Sutton's. It has to be, everyone was going on about how Boyd's strike was a contender for goal of the season where as this goal was 100 times better than it. The technique in it, the turn, the volley and the fact Alexander couldn't get anywhere near it!

Player of the Year: If Clarkson doesn't get the majority of the votes in this then i dunno. If we lose him during the pre season we could be fucked. Great season again. Mon the Clarky!

Worst Player: Big Bad Boab without a doubt. Apart from a couple of freekick's and even though he's our top scoring midfielder he's been poor. Poor return considering he's possibly the highest earner at the club!

Young Player: Jim O'Brien for this one. We now actually have a winger at the club with flair and pace. He's got the ability to be a key player next term.

Best Moment: The whole European adventure this year was my first experience of Europe with Motherwell. Absolutely amazing couple of days and even though we lost 1-0, Motherwell fans weren't moaning for a change! The support was brilliant and the chants of One Phil O'Donnell were emotional for us all i bet. Also the save from Graeme Smith. I couldn't watch the penalty but then the whole Motherwell end went wild as if we had scored the winner in the tie!

Worst Moment: Has to be the St Mirren cup replay. We went in to this game thinking the cup could be there for the taking if we had won the tie. Sadly not. Big dissapointment.

Surprise of the Year: Fair Play League. Simple as. A bizarre way to get into Europe for the second successive season!

Overall: Wouldn't call the season a failure, it was always going to be hard living up to last season especially with McCormack away and then Porter going half way though the season. Apart from the two cup runs i'd say we done nae bad for a team of our stature. 7/10

Expectations for Next Season: Get the squad size right with a few signings. Obviously the pitch is going to be worked on so we can look forward to that. Would like to see Sheridan and Klimpl signed up on permanant deals aswell.

What I Want the Most Next Season : Scottish Cup Final. Never experienced it yet as i was only 6 months old when that great moment of 1991 occured. CIS Cup just isn't as good!

  9. With Kilmarnock at home on Saturday, they will be our opposition for the last game in another decent season for Motherwell. Although we missed out on top 6, we done no bad. We are a mid table club in the SPL who will rarely get such a successful season like last but after it all the expectations are far too high for the season after.

So aye. Team against Kilmarnock :

Krysiak in for Smith - To see if it's maybe worth taking him on full time since his contract is expired down at Brum. Although would like to see Smith in there since it could be his last ever game for the club.

One change to the back 4 would be Quinn out for Hammell (if fit)

Would swap the midfield about and put Lasley in over O'Brien.

Then up top put O'Brien inplace of Murphy.

Also, one last prediction of the season...3-0 the Well!

Let's finish the season with a bang!

  10. I like Sheridan. Fits in well with the front three instead of just playing the front two and has the ability to bag a few goals. He does an awful lot of running aswell which his rival Sutton doesn't seem to do. Sheridan i would say has the potential to become twice the player as Sutton.

Now only if he can find a better first touch.
