Carroll was excellent for us. He doesn't take many risks on the ball but still chipped in with assists and goals. His defending was very good and he knew when to rely on his pace/strength and when to foul.

I think with better players around him in Turnbull, Hastie and Lang we will see a lot more from Watt. He's definitely got more link up play in him than Long who just likes to get the head down.

I don't see Long being very effective on the left of the three. If it's 4-3-3 then it's him Watt and White all going for one spot.

Lang looks like a decent addition. He has a good variety of goals on his highlights videos which is always a promising sign.

The question is if giving guys 60-90 minutes is better why aren't we doing that especially when we have a smaller squad. He was continually found wanting against better teams and usually went into hiding when we were on the back foot. He's similar to Forbes and Vigurs for me in that he costs you at least much as he contributes.
