  1. this particular signing just seems like the easy option. st mirren get a decent looking full back from holland, killie sign a rapid young guy from ipswich to play left back. obviously both signings involved contacts/scouting. we hear a killie reserve is told he can leave for free and sign him up. it reminds me of signing meldrum because he lived locally or molloy and keegan because they had the same agent as danny murphy. we've had a great start but our performances haven't been great. ict and 30 minutes against 10 men of hearts was good but killie, st mirren and rangers were all underwhelming and the first half against hearts was rank. our squad is paper thin and our only experienced forward might be completely useless with our style of play. things are going well the now but i don't think it will take much to knock us off our stride. if we sign a decent striker and a winger then i'll be delighted and very confident. if we don't then questions have to be asked why not. st mirren and killie have stronger looking squads than us, i can't imagine they are spending much more than us.

    Clyde

tom hateley for me. 100th appearance, first goal from open play, first with his left peg and a shot of the captain's armband. only taking two years and nine days since your debut to 100 appearances is impressive and he's been extremely reliable playing in every game since he signed. can anyone think of a motherwell player who hit 100 games quicker?
  3. ben gordon is a left back, what has that got to do with clancy? i don't understand what the reslts of the games have to do with his performances/ability? if jenno hadn't shat the bed at 0-0 in the first game at fir park would he have been a worse player? the guy is slow and he made jones (currently in the blue square north)look a player back in may. he's 27 and has 70 senior appearances so he's hardly experienced. st mirren and killie have found young, cheap promising fullbacks this summer, why can't we look a bit further a field?
  4. he'd be better if he wasn't so fat. maybe we can sign him up for that weight watchers group at fir park.
  5. from what i know of him he is slow and got ripped to shreds off steve jones the last time he played at fir park. let's hope if we've got money to sign clancy a deal for a striker is in the pipeline.
  6. the guy hasn't kicked his own arse in the past 4 games. he's a one trick pony who seems unable to even perform that trick anymore. it's a big boys game. either contribute what you're paid to do or face the consequences.
  7. is there not a way we could get better music? somebody must know they guy who does it. get him on here and we could get a load of suggestions and a wee fan approved library of songs to pick from.

    Rangers

hammell sold the jerseys at the 2nd goal, he should have rode the challenge from mcmillan but he shat it and passed the ball to no one. that was game over so i don't think he deserves motm even though he played well.
  9. it's unbelievably bad. the guy usually keeps songs in his playlist for about a decade so we'll no doubt be assualted by it until 2021
  10. randolph hateley hutchinson page hammell humphrey forbes carswell lawless mchugh higdon hopefully humphrey and higdon can find a bit of form against part timers.
  11. the only reason h*n is considered sectarian is because when nil by mouth started all their pish they had to give rangers something to be seen to be fair so they designated h*n as sectarian as a counterbalance. the basis for it is due to it being a banned insult in northern ireland but again that is likely to be due to tit for tat between the political parties when making the list rather than any realistic basis. as finlay pointed out it is a nonsense to consider it sectarian as everyone knows it means rangers fans rather than presbyterians. this the end result of all the greeting about songs and terms, sheer stupidity and censorship. my family background is church of scotland so surely if it is sectarian it's ok for me to say it a la 'paddy mccourt's feni&n army' and spike jones saying n****r constantly? it'll be interesting to see what the outcome of the sectarianism bill is when it comes back up in november. there's no way they'll be able to ban the sash and they'll probably shite out of banning boys of the old brigade so we'' no doubt be hearing plenty of government endorsed versions of them in future.
  12. typical pigs. too workshy to sort out the 3000 bigots in the south stand but big and brave against a 12 year old.

    David Kelly

i liked him, he had a bit of the coyne about him. a decent player even if he was as slow as week in the jail. i also remember some kanu style doubts flying around about his true age. for some reason i'm also thinking he was combining playing for the well with owning golf course in england but that might be nonsense. that cup tie at dunfermline was a grim, grim day.
  14. i don't think clarky would be doing much bench sitting for us
  15. 34 corners so far this season. i could see us having 100 before we get a goal from one.
  16. i thought it was the opposite on saturday. he did enough to look good in the highlights but his general play was rotten. he won nothing in the air against the smallest centre backs in the league and moved like a world war one tank.

    Faddy

aye they're good shouts too. it's still not a lot of possible clubs and we don't know whether their managers rate faddy or they've got the budget or they might have other targets.

    Faddy

that pretty much sums it up for me. he's got a lot to prove.

    Faddy

i can't see an epl side taking him as there will be doubts about his fitness which was relatively poor pre injury. i doubt he would sign for rangers and celtic have mccourt, maloney, forrest and commons. plus they're both skint. so championship seems most likely to me. nottingham forest, derby, southampton, portsmouth or coventry look likely options.
  20. anyone hear anything about a new groundsman starting today? hopefully this guy has a clue.

    Faddy

what clubs do you think he might sign for mjc?
  22. steelboy

    Faddy

he was distinctly average the last time he was in the championship. compare faddy's season in the championship to that of dorrans or gutierrez and it doesn't stack up well. imo he's got zero chance of an epl club and it's obvious championship clubs aren't that keen or he'd be signed up.

    Faddy

he doesn't appear to be in great demand. if his options were barnsley or hull he might decide a year in the spl could be worthwhile.
  24. not sure i agree. faddy went to england 8 years ago and has barely left a mark. will he be remembered by birmingham or everton fans? i very much doubt it. if he had signed for one of the glasgow clubs he would have had opportunities to perform in europe and win trophies. mcdonald and mccormack both scored last night. i doubt they enjoyed scoring those goals as much as the ones they got against milan and porto.
