i agree about quinn but gie reynolds a break. clarky and quinn had bigger form drop offs than mark had this season and now we're deperate to keep them. i fully expect reynolds to bounce back as well as they have done in the last two seasons. wee yin - not as simple as that. saunders looks decent but quinn is a threat going forward and a leader on the park, when he leaves he'll be missed.

you get 90 grand for each qualifying round you play in. so if we get by the welsh team that's £180K guaranteed. obviously we've got to pay for hiring the shyberry and trips to wales and albania but hopefully our home gate money (£50-60 thousand?) would cover that.
-
if we get through the two rounds drawn, we'll make £270,000 in prize money. hopefully that'll be clear profit and the home gate revenue will cover hiring the excellsior and travel. say we make it through three rounds (which will be difficult but not entirely unlikely) come the first day we could have won three or four competitive games and go through to perth buzzing. imo the club have everything to gain and nothing to lose from these games. from my perspective as fan, a game in eight days and a quality trip coming up - bring it on!

it's alright saying that but if we get relegated next season we are up shit creek. we can't afford to lose maybe 7 (porter, buzz, hughes, klimpl and maybe clarky, reynolds and quinn) of our best players from what was already a thin squad. trafficlight - not everyone slated clarky. it's a shame all the old posts got wiped or we could have a right good laugh at what all the regular nostradamus's have had to say about clarky, quinn and buzz.

Fao Flow Or Anyone Who Saw Training Today
steelboy replied to dougie arnotts barmy army's topic in Club Chat
if they don't turn up to training they shouldn't get their last weeks wages buzz - he had an excellent season - especially the last six months - and should have offers on the table. you'd also imagine that any new manager would be willing to give fraser a chance and spend his budget on other areas. so i doubt we'll see buzz resplendent in pink next season. i'm very sad to see him go, tap man. hughes - got a feeling he's waiting for rangers and now they've got champions league money they're looking at other options. can't see him playing for any other scottish team than us or the h**s, i don't think any other diddy team can offer him much more than he was was on at fir park and playing here suits him personally. he probably has offers down south and abroad it just depends on what his ambitions are. i think there's a chance of him signing if we bring in a manger and some players who show we're meaning business next season. really hope we sign him as he allows us to play fitba on the deck. mclean - suprised he looks like leaving but i don't think he'll be missed much if he does go. probably values himself higher than we do after all his injuries. i don't think we'll miss him anyway, he looks impressive 90% of the time then loses his man and costs us a goal. i'd rather see saunders, hutchison and page get a chance than break the bank to sign him. klimpl - would be a good signing but isn't worth the money. i'd imagine his wage demands would be high and the danish club will be looking for something. provided us with dig when we needed it but if you put his best run up against lasley's first 11 games then wee keith comes out ahead. keith was playing out his skin when others were poor, when maros came in quinn, crags, o'brien , porter and hughes had all found a bit of form. cheerio maros. -
whoever wrote this is a retard.

they must think they can only break even at the bigger stadium if they can pull a few thousand locals in as well as a decent travelling support, it would be daft for a wee club like that to risk losing money. anyway i'm sure everyone who goes down will see the game, there must have been 3000+ in nancy and no one seemed to be looking for tickets. these things always work out.

seriously don't post anymore logical and well thought out posts. you could hurt somebody.

one eye's going for the messages the other one's coming back wae the change.

i would say that about a lot of opinions but as this website continues to prove on a day to day basis everyone is entitled to one. i still don't think his comments are any reason to demonise him though it should rule him out managing here (as well as being shite). i would have been happy to have had a minutes silence for puerta who had played in glasgow five months earlier but others on here you could guarantee would said it was OTT.
-
and as i said at the time where was our silence for antonio puerta? i don't want the guy as our manager but he should be allowed an opinion.
-
pittodrie's a bit of a shitehole these days, richard donald stand apart. some of it makes the east look like the emirates.
-
maybe too big a gamble for boyle. i've got a feeling that the reason luke isn't in with much of a chance is that boyle doesn't know anything about him as a manager or a person and there is no one over here who can give him a reference.

anyone who expects reynolds, clarkson or quinn to sign another contract at motherwell is aff their heid.

it's in the spl's long term benefit for setanta to keep the epl sweet first and foremost. if the epl take premiership games away from setanta subscribers would plummet and that'd probably be the end of it.
-
our ex managers have generally done very well, particularly ex Eck and BD. eric black has managed coventry and assisted in the premiership since he left us. mcghee has done very well out his time here. big tel got a dream job in oz (fair enough it turned into a nightmare). even the worst manager ever pulled a decent job at swindon after leaving here. guys like sanchez and staunton probably want to "do a mcghee" and rebuild their reps here.
-
i kind of forgot about that. i suppose i'm still living in a bit of hope that we might keep hughes (and buzz and mclean). we did need cover at left back though. patrick joseph gerrard boyle might come in handy next season.
-
left back is probably where we are shortest. reynolds isn't good enough on the ball to play fullback and paul quinn will probably be playing up front at some point next season so a bit of cheap cover will be handy. doesn't say much for our LB in the u19s though.
-
of course folk are looking forward to the new season. today - i cut our fixtures out the paper and put them in my wallet. monday - european draw, the board will go mental hopefully sometime in the next week - new boss, again expect a frenzy on here two weeks today - our first game which could be almost anywhere between iceland and china but definitely not in motherwell. at some point in the future - we will sign a player (i hope). this is the best close season ever. normally you get at least a month without much happening and the only chat on here is who smashed what at the masters. right now the telly's hoaching with sport - two fitba tournaments, lions, 20/20, us open and wimbledon soon - plus we've got all this going on. nae withdrawal symptons this year.
-
i'd be happy with eduaord malofeev. he was mental.

A Wee Piece Of Nonsense Poll To Pass The Time
steelboy replied to Haggischomper's topic in Club Chat
a couple is probably bang on. i remember him scoring a screamer once (maybe in the 5-1 win against raith?) and having a good game against rangers once (but he was up against staale steenas). on the other hand ange was never a football player but he did seem to spend 4 or 5 hours a day aimlessy wandering around north lodge so you've got to pick him. -
we had a couple of quality black away kits about ten years ago, it would be be a decent change to go back to that. anyway i've heard claret and amber are popular colours in kazakhstan so we could well be seeing one in the next few weeks.
-
the staunton thing seems real enough. whether or not he's going to get the job he's definitely involved. scenario - gary mac gets interviewed, hears what boyle has to say doesn't fancy the job but recomends his ex assistant stan staunton. i said earlier in the week it's time to be patient and i'm going to try to stick by that. it's better that we spend a bit of time getting the right man than rushing and fucking it up.

you can bet on anything. if they don't have odds they just phone up the head office and get some. the only reason a bookie won't take your money is if they think there is insider info going about.
