I think people are exaggerating the effect of missing one match- we've played 51 games this season IIRC. Match sharpness won't be an issue. If anything it'll be the opposite- tiredness which will take it's toll. IMO McCall has struck a good balance. The majority of players who will start on saturday got minutes under their belt either today or against Killie, and we have came through those matches unscathed- risking injury for todays meaningless match would be ludicrous.

Winners of the best dressed shop competition were announced at half 2 at the 'Well shop in the town centre. The top 3 shops were us, Wilkinsons and Denholms, but Denholms won in the end. Booo! . Town looks amazing though, big well done to everyone involved.

Yup! Town centre looks amazing and it's brilliant to see almost all shops make an effort. Boots in particular looks outstanding. Best dressed shop wins 4 hospitality tickets for the cup final, and the winner is announced tomorrow afternoon. Fingers crossed Gamestation wins!

Not looking quite as good as I'd imagined, far too much other stuff going on in the windows, but still pretty cool. Think we'll make a claret and amber bowser for the middle of the right hand window tonight to try and beef it up a little.

Putting the finishing touches to our decorations tonight so I'll be firing our display up in Gamestation windows tomorrow morning. My girlfriend put all my ideas into practice, and it's looks phenomenal. Noticed today a lot of shops have 'Well posters in the window, so it looks like the whole town is making an effort!

Well, town centre management are holding a competition for the best dressed shop. My manager has given the go-ahead so expect Gamestation decked out in claret and amber!

Was it not mainly independent pubs that had Motherwell colours out? Independent businesses obviously have the discretion to make such decisons but Motherwell town centre is predominantly chain based stores who couldn't give a flying fuck about what MFC are doing and are more concerned about getting money through the door.

Correct. If Aberdeen had reached the final and the town/shops were covered in red and white I wouldn't complain, but the simple minded among the Celtic fans will be enough to put a lot of businesses off.

I'd love nothing more than to have my shop decked out in claret and amber... these are different times now though, companies won't have it!
