  1. Why fuck over people I work beside for one game when they bend over backwards to cover every game for me and have given me time off at short notice to go to games in Europe?

I have a good reputation at work. That is something that gets me further and I do well. With your attatude, not to mention your ability in terms of writing, I would not trust you to sweep the floors.

Enjoy the game today, remember not to lick the window too much on the way there, because maybe if your a good boy your carer will buy you a pie to chew on.

    Brilliant.

I was buzzing for this morning but the thought of Jelavic and Naismith gives me the fear. Still quietly confident.

  2. Thompson is an idiot. The most vociferous when discussing his opposition of the move to a ten, only to completely change his opinion when it looked like it might be pushed through to a 10 team league. Now it's looking more and more unlikely again he is shouting his mouth off about how he is for the fan's and completely against any change to 10. He's an attention seeker.

  3. Mo Ross has had a good start to his career at FP so far but I think it would be exceptionally harsh to drop the boys who got us to the final. Hately or Saunders for me due to them having played the previus rounds.

Both are more than capable RB's and offer different threats. Hately ability at dead balls and Saunders threat from set Pieces.

    Steady on

  4. Can't get any work done here. Buzzing for this.

The more I think about it the more I think Ross should start. Initially would have had Hateley but now I'm not so sure.

    My team would be:

    Randolph

    Hammell Gunning Hutch Ross

    Murphy Lasley Jennings Humph

    Jeffers Sutton

Take it to them and play with no fear. Gunning has looked assured and confident at the back so have no reservations about having no Craigan, especially with a bit of experience with Ross. Jeffers drops back quite a bit too looking for the ball and Sutton will win a lot in the air for Murphy and Humphrey.

  5. Stevie Kirk: I'm using my second chance to help football fans live healthy life

Feb 27 2011 - Gordon Parks, Sunday Mail

STEVIE KIRK admits he's using his second chance at life helping beer-bellied football fans get back in shape.

The Motherwell head of coaching is continuing his recovery from a heart attack suffered last September by reaching out to the local community as part of a range of SPL initiatives.

There are 182 community projects in operation across areas of health, education, employment and social inclusion with over 23,600 individuals taking part in projects each week.

Kirk said: "We are doing a programme just now called Football Fans in Training. It's the second course we've run and it's an SPL initiative.

"The criteria to join is simple. You must be overweight for a start, it's aimed at men aged between 35 and 65 and their waistband must be above 36 or the circumference of their belly must be 100 centimetres.

"They need to have a body mass index of over 27 which is classed as obese.

"We do physical work with them and focus on healthy eating over a 13-week period. This is what the community needs, clubs have taken offthe bl inkers by getting these people involved and the difference in them is scary.

"At the end of the course you can see the clothes hanging offsome of them."

The Fir Park legend is using the scheme as an inspiration after being struck down with a heart problem six months ago. He said: "The course started last September on the week I left for Florida and I remember telling them I would be coming back from holiday to get involved.

"But the well wishes I've received from that group of guys after my illness have been incredible."

Kirk wil l v isit a heart specialist tomorrow as he looks to get the all-clear and admits his close call was a result of a lifestyle that has become a trademark of Scottish culture.

He said: "I'm back to work, nearing full health and have an appointment with the cardiologist on Monday that will include a fitness test.

"Football is a tonic for me and to start with I wasn't allowed to go over the top as I had two stents fitted into my arteries but I'm feeling great.

"I've changed my outlook on life, my eating and drinking habits, and it's given me a right shake and wake-up call.

"When I'm work ing in schools I speak to the kids about the dangers of high cholesterol, which was the problem that hit me, so my message is about doing and eating the right things.

"I'm not bible-thumping but people need to be aware of the damage they could be doing to themselves.

"When I played in the 70s and 80s the culture was play the game, get to the pub and have a drink, train, drink then play again.

"It 's just a Scottish mentality and the way people live their lives.

"But football has changed so much for the better."

  6. Good point Fatcalf!! The reform of Scottish Football should in fact be the Reform of the finances of Scottish football!!

10 teams in the league playing each other a minimum of 4 times per season will eventually become the same as the last time BORING PISH

Neil Doncaster admitted that they way forward should be a bigger league but finances seem to dictate everything these days.

well... aye! Motherwell and most other clubs really struggle to get by. SPL clubs are skint and more games against Ross County instead of more games against Rangers and Celtic just aren't appealing. I know some people will criticise it for being shortsighted but as McLeish said its not financially viable to have more than 10 clubs right now. Teams like Motherwell are working on a season-by-season budget. We don't have the funds to take a hit for a few seasons. We need to maximum funds available every season and right now thats with a ten team league.

The product will be diluted with weaker teams in the league, with TV money maybe going down, and the TV money will be split among more teams in a bigger league.

Ideally I'd like a bigger league with more teams and stadiums to visit but it seems that it's just not possible for a country like Scotland.

  7. Eh?

Was Hammell not the last player we actually paid money for? Something like £130,000 after we'd made about a quarter of a mil on Paterson? Unless we paid a small fee for Jennings?

    Hardly news is it

  8. Murphy's worst game of the season for me, saying that, he certainly wasn't bad. Just shows you how good the boy is these days.

No-one really stood out for me, Jennings and Lasley pretty much bossed the midfield for 80% of the game so one of them.

    edit: faddythedaddy posting

  9. I had a dream about it last night. We went 1-0 up and there was a shoddy attendance. I woke up so I don't know what it finished. Neil Ruddock was playing for us though and my trousers kept falling off, read into that what you will.

  10. does anyone else get annoyed when the fourth official tries to stop Gordon Young (I think) going down to celebrate with the players at about 22 seconds in that video? Piss aff ya wee tink. Rips my nut that and when they tell managers to get back inside the technical area. What does it even matter?

  11. I dont see why people would watch the full game when they know what happens and they would have possibly seen the highlights on sky or caught them online a few hours later.

Aye, but plenty of folk go to the boozer on a sunday anyway and, if I read right, other Sky games will be shown. Seems to make sense to go along there and even catch some of the game with a pint.
