  1. Fair point. I suppose my perception is that we're in 4th by some absolute miracle.
  2. Decent suggestion. I haven't seen enough of him this year to know if he would actually play well but he's too good for the next tier down, and the video of him with the fans recently suggests he actually gives a sh**
  3. The team hasn't been the same since Jennings left. We've tried in various forms to replace him over the years but never quite managed it. Lasley isn't capable of running the midfield, and we've brought in various "experienced" (old) players over the past few years to keep it strong in the middle. Also not replacing Hutchison properly has contributed to the last few years of decline since the dizzy heights of 2nd place. We'll keep McDonald for at least another year, so we need to focus on a strong, commanding midfield and a solid centreback pairing. McManus needs to get shifted on to the fringes, and Lasley needs to start steadily reducing his gametime, and increasing his coaching role. No one who is currently in Scottish football springs to mind for either of those - any thoughts?
  4. Hopefully SM well spend some clever money this summer and get a decent striker or two. I'm actually not all that worried about Sutton leaving - I reckon it will give Murphy a chance to step up some more. I'd be much more worried if Randolph or Hutchy goes.
  5. I reckon this could be the biggest blow to our side. Randolph's clean sheet record speaks volumes about what he's done for Motherwell. Also, I don't think he feels as much of an allegiance to the club as the likes of Hutchy. Sutton, Murphy. So considering how good he is, and his ROI status, I think he is a good shout for Celtic, which will be a great loss. Hollis is great, but he's no Randolph! Not saying he will never be right enough. My Jambo mate reckons Kello is more likely to get the hoops job....
  6. I seem to remember hearing that on the first day of ticket sales when it was ST holders and those buying a new ST we sold about 7,500 tickets. So surely that would mean that there were just shy of 2000 people there who either had an ST already (and you would imagine most of them will renew) or were purchasing one for next season (as I did) since each person was to get 4 tickets per ST. That's not a bad start, and considering the season we've had, if the club push season ticket sales and get it moving over the summer we could be doing not bad when the season kicks off!
  7. Got to be Hutchy - he fought to the death, and deserved much more than he got. Love that boy. Sign him up forever.
  8. Sorry I forgot Hutchy - but I reckon he'll be the same. Only one that is shaky is Randolph I reckon. Sutton as well but as long as his agent doesn't push him too much I think he'll stick around. Hutchy and Murphy are going to become part of the furniture I reckon like Hammell.
  9. I wondered that as well. Maybe he just wanted to be in amongst it and feel the atmosphere? He didn't really get a minute's peace though....everyone coming up and talking to him. At one point there were three guys standing around him, singing at the top of their voices and pointing at his head. Wee bit over the top and a bit awkward because I think he wanted to avoid drawing attention to himself!
  10. Everyone who was interested in Humphrey probably won't be any more - he hasn't been great for a while. I don't think he would go anyway. Murphy could go, Sutton could go, Randolph could go. I don't think they will though - I think they will stay because there are some things more important than money. I'm hoping that's the case anyway!
  11. Sorry that photo is quite wee...but you get the idea.
  12. What an epic display. I'm trying to find a video of the coverage that shows it - the bbc highlights didn't have it on there. I was underneath a card, but my mate along on one side took a photo and it looked cracking.
  13. Well, I'm a little bit disappointed, but I had a brilliant day nonetheless. Got to see my team in the cup final, had the honour of standing behind Joe Wark to watch it (I would stick a picture up, but I haven't uploaded my photos yet). I think it would be short sighted to consider the whole season in the context of today. We didn't play our best, and we didn't get anything from it, but I think we've had a great season. As far as today goes, it was a mixture of nae luck, and some below perfect performances. To win today, we would have had to be at better than our usual best, and we weren't. ::Hammell was brilliant, as always, although a bit strange to see him out in the mid. ::Sutton had nothing to do - no one was getting balls through to him. Their midfield looked pretty solid. ::Hutchy played his wee heart out, and I really feel for the boy. He did so well. ::Gunning's shot was epic, but the rest of his game was questionable. Fingers could be pointed for at least one of those goals. ::Humphrey didn't do much today. He didn't seem to want to do what he does best - running down the wing and putting in a cross. He sat out there waiting, and then when he got the ball he went nowhere. Just passed it back in. Disappointing. ::Murphy didn't do much. As you can probably see from my avatar, he's my favourite player, but we didn't see him going anywhere today, nor did he supply Sutton with anything. ::Craigan was quite disappointing today I thought. A few great tackles, but also a few questionable ones. He let too many weak passes go astray as well. As for that hand ball - if Randolph doesn't stay with us next season we should consider putting Craigan in the nets. He was a shade of what he was at the semi. Can't help thinking - what would have been if Gunning's rocket had been an inch lower? I'm still proud to be a 'Well fan, and where I was standing, the atmosphere was absolutely ROCKING! Even when we were going down, and even after the final whistle, we were still singing. That shows some spirit, and the fans deserve some credit for that. Its a shame that some people on here are reporting different experiences in other sections. We probably seemed to be outsang, but then there was 30,000 of them.... I'm still unbelievably proud to be part of it. And proud to continue following the mighty 'Well. Can't wait to see how next season goes. WE ARE THE BOYS OF THE MFC!!!
  14. It's on!!!! Here we go - let's go Motherwell FC
  15. Smashing. Just as well we're best pals then Yabba....
  16. Yeah I'm going from Dennistoun as well mate...this should be interesting! Thought I was the only 'Well fan in this neck of the woods.
  17. Thank goodness you found your caps lock key. You can turn it off now
  18. Haahaa that would be class!
  19. Anyone know where I can get some decent highlights of the last game of the season against them in 2005? I want to see Scott MacDonald's overhead....also want to see the whole game tbh.
  20. Let's dae it. Spread the word! (Cheers for the credit as well)
  21. For me, the team has to be: ------------------------Randolph------------------------------- --Saunders---Craigan-----Hutchinson------Hammell ---Hateley-------------Lasley-----------------Jennings---- ----Humphrey--------------------------Murphy--------------- --------------------------Sutton---------------------------------- Saunders up the RB because of his performance last time we were at Hampden. Hutchy has to start as well as far as I'm concerned - one of our best this season. I also agree with most who are saying we will get torn apart with a 4.4.2. If we give Commons space, he'll rocket them in from anywhere. He's my biggest concern. The rest of them, I can imagine we will have them mostly covered as long as the boys are awake and looking lively (as I'm sure they will be), but Commons, he makes me nervous. I was scared that big Majstorovic would eat would eat wee Jamie without even chewing, but after having a close look at him, he is utterly useless I reckon. As for Lennon's wee clappy-times at the 18th? Who cares man, let them have it. I reckon that's when big John will pounce on a nice cross from Humphrey on the right. Also, applause from us at any minute before the 18th would totally take the shine off their one. Imagine, at like 16 minutes, we all break out with applause...they'll all be like "what's going on?? That's our game?" then when it hits 18 minutes they'll not feel so clever. I thought maybe in the 10th for Phil O'Donnell?
  22. This is absolutely hilarious.
  23. 15,000 people in C&A; scarfs over the head; She wore, she wore. Job done. The team come out to that, the cup will be getting crushed under an open top Park's of Hamilton bus after being dropped by Stevie Hammell.
  24. What a comeback! Tie Sutton down, and FORCE him to sign for at least 3 years.
