  3. I think its the official site thats mucked it up !! Check out the teams highlighted in "RED", the assumption is they are home fixtures, check the "h" & "a" next to the fixture, its a contradiction. Hope thats clear

    Bridgework Bus

Like the big man says, I was a regular on the bus from mid seventies ( 74/5 ish) and still 35 years down the line see, speak and more often than not have a drink with many of the faces from that time, infact there were about 1/2 a dozen of the regulars from that era on our bus to Nancy last year. Stopped going on the BWB like FC says round about 81/2 and dont know if it carried on much longer than that. IIRC alot of the guys went upto the Muirhouse Branch. It was in the early 80's when we started running the "Nut Hut Cup Bus", which is still going as strong now as it was then, nearly 30 years on, with trips to Nancy, Paris, All the Scotland home games, umpteen Hampden trips with the 'Well, including that "Lost weekend" in May 1991 and all the other away SC tie's since then. There are a good few of the younger posters on here have sampled the pub bus and are often told about it being like this back in the day. Often 3 generations on the bus. That all came about by us oldies serving our apprenticeship on the BWB. " A tidy bus is a happy bus " ........... or else ( that right Foghorn )

    Sponsors Night

Sorry Leeann, but I think you are totally missing the point here. For me personally, it not about the money, its also not even about the strip, its all about integrity. After a hard sell by the club at last years event, I agreed to sponsor a player. I was promised the days of getting the strip sent out to you after the last game, stuffed into jiffy bag, was a thing of the past, that was the "old way". You were going Glitz and Glamour, yes it would increase by a considerable amount, but trust us it will be worth it. In the space of 2 seasons the outlay has gone from £185 upto £395, but remember "trust us it will be worth it". So 12 months on what am I getting for my initial outlay -; Space in the programme, yes, although it was wrong for the first few games Web site inclusion, no, check out the player sponsor page for yourself, it's been like that since last july. Nominations for POTY, no, unless your quick. Invite to the dinner, no, cancelled Presented the strip by the player, no, see above. Add to the fact that we had to sign a formal agreement with you on all of the above and it may go part way to explaining why "we are not very happy". I agree with Iain on this one and you mention that 3 people are prepared to wait till next season, what if you have sponsored one of the players who is leaving, I know of 4 sponsors WHO WILL NOT BE RENEWING. Please just accept you misread the fans feelings and got this one totally wrong. I dont accept your reasons (as mentioned by Iain) as we have known the weekend of the last game for 10 months now and 11 other clubs can fit in an end of season event, what makes us so different ?

It sure as hell will have a knock on effect for next season, if the parties I have spoken to are anything to go by. Fact, the reason given for the price of player sponsorship increasing by about 25% (almost £400) from the previous season was purely and simply attributed at the cost of hosting the Official P O T Y & Sponsors night. Lets face it, nobody does it just to get a strip ! As Brazilian says, maybe the good news is that all sponsors will be credited back the additional £100 because the contract we signed with the club at the start of the season has been broken

"Keith, Letters are being prepared on this at the moment! 'Flow" Aye good one !!!! You didn't say it was a "sorry to disappoint" letter. Typical, led up the garden path yet again, one step forward, two steps back. Signed Angry from Motherwell

Cheers Alan, is it the same format as last year ?
  13. Neil, your poll is distorted, can you stick another option in Q2. i.e. If you do not buy a fanzine then you cannot vote on the middle question, if you dont vote then the poll is then returned to you saying you must pick one, the results then becomes irrelevant !

Any word on the nominations for the P O T Y and the Y P O T Y, surely we should be getting the details out about this very soon ?

    Sponsors Night

I know there are a few posters on here, who like myself, sponsor one of the players. Part of the contract agreement that we entered into for this season was the presentation of the strip from that player on the last weekend of the season at a "Player of the Season & Sponsors Evening, Presentation Dinner", similar to the highly successful night last year in the Shawlands Hotel (great night, poor venue) that was organised by Davie T and Jamie G. One of the other "honours" as they called it, was being able to vote for the shortlist for Player of the year and Young Player of the year Now, with only 4 weeks to go till the players disappear for their holidays, I was curious to know if anybody has heard anything about this event i.e. date, venue, shortlist nominations etc. As by this time last year we were being hassled to commit to an allocation of tickets for the event !!

"Can you tell us how many sleeves it will have ?" To me thats just a bit of "armless" fun !! OK, OK, I know......taxi

    Pearo

I think he would make an excellent centre forward, an out and out striker in the same mould as Kris Boyd. As you would ofter hear the commentator say about Boyd "he just looked up, picked his spot, then slotted it home" Taxi

    Rumour Quashed

"In the interim we get a brick by brick sneak preview in the match programme " Yes, but is it a brick or a block & and is that a hint of cement in the bottom left hand corner and does it go all the way round.
  19. Great night. Thanks to all bidders and winners, over £6000 raised from the auction alone. Hope everyone who managed to attend had an enjoyable evening and a special thank you to Tam Cowan who yet again pulled out a superb performance. Jim Duffy and Sheriff Lindsay Wood hit the mark with some excellent, funny and entertaining stories. A final figure from the night will be announced when all monies are collected. ( PS, well done to Brazilian, who bought some raffle tickets by proxy and came away with a prize ) And yes Frazzle did win that item !! No doubt more stories of the night will appear here in due course.
  20. Brazilian Couple of valid points there with some very straightforward answers. Bidding on items If you are intrested in anything in particular I am more than happy to place a proxy bid on your behalf or i'm sure anyone else you know would thats going to the event. eBay Agree with your points but given that the strips have just been donated to us this week and we wanted to get the total funds by Saturday it was the only feasable way of doing it. As for pictures or COE, the strips are not all in the one place infact some of the club representatives attending on Saturday night are bringing them with them to the dinner, making this impossible to do. We will however be issuing the club reply letter with the strips. As for our rating and the authenticity, that it why we publicised it in the media that the auctions could be accessed through the Welltrust.net site, best we could do given the circumstances We have also replied to a few buyers questions promising supporting documents. Hope you can understand our predicament with trying to maximise the time available and striking while the irons hot. PM me if you would like a proxy bid place on any item.
  21. Because, if you have never been to a sportsmans dinner etc, one of the most important factors is the number of seats at a table, its got absolutly nothing to do with the cost or a bulk discount , its all about the number of invites the table host will extend to his guests. Invite 8 people and have 2 strangers at your table or turn up with 11 and somebody is "Nigelled". Hope its not bugging you any longer !!!
  22. At the moment the only club not playing ball are Falkirk, there are NO bids on the signed shirt yet. http://shop.ebay.co.uk/merchant/motherwellsupporterstrust does anyone frequent the Falkirk messageboards that can embaress some of their members into bidding for a worthy cause !!! infact try some of the other clubs boards to see if we can get the bids up.
  23. Best of luck then. We also have a signed Fletcher, Man Utd top, donated to us by Darren and Brian McClair, although this is going up for auction at the dinner along with some other top drawer items.
  24. Hibs , Hearts and Aberdeen also have bids on them now, is that your Sheff Wed bid thats in ?
  25. Good man. It's an XL and has 19 autographs on it, it also comes with a "Cert of Auth" signed by the PA to the Chief Exec. There is also a letter from them wishing best of luck for the night which we can throw in if you win it. I have the strip here so you could even save on the P & P. Happy bidding.
