Surely with the worst of the weather seemingly over, and it approaching March and thus Spring-time and warmer conditions. Surely, the chances of another postponement will get slimmer by the day..

Just a case of how much the park is going to dig up, as well we all saw what a poor condition it is in on Sat.

So, fortunately we could well escape this with fuck all of a fine... can't complain.

We may escape the fine, but the threat of the 20k will force the club into action, and the cost of a total overhaul will be a lot moer than 20k.

Hopefully they'll do it right this time, lets see if this new "new" regime makes a change.

I can understand the SPL's decision but if there is torrential rain which floods all the parks in Scotland we'll receive a fine if our game is called off. Should they not have limited the condition to a frozen pitch if that was the problem?

The official statement seems to indicate that we will dig up part of the pitch and repair the pipes affected. Surely this will have no effect on the condition of the pitch in general other than to ensure it will be able to be heated. Are we still going to end up with the usual threadbare surface or has the balloon had a damaging effect on the pitch?

At last the club have had to admit that part of our undersoil heating is fucked. You just wonder how long it has been that way and how long they would have left it to avoid forking (pardon the pun) out for the repair. Maybe now after this wrap on the knuckles we might at long last see John Boyle fulfilling his promise of a decent pitch. Then again... :P

Should count ourselves lucky, quite a light punishment. Surely now no excuse for not fixing our problems with the pitch, USH etc.

It's only diddy teams that get punished :P

Taken from Evening Telegraph Dundee.

COWDENBEATH have been hit with a suspended £5000 fine due to problems with their pitch and floodlights. They have been given until January to recify matters

I still don't think we will get the USH repaired. I think they will just stick £20000 aside from next seasons budget and pay the fine when we get caught out again. Its still be the cheaper option as I've heard £80000 to repair and re-lay the pitch.

Dont be daft, the next fine after that will probably £50k and who knows how much it will be the time after that. Even an £80k repair is cheaper than the alternative.
