Europa League

Now that European domination has been put on hold for another year for all down Fir Park way, here's a question...

Had The Rangers debacle not unfolded, and we finished in the same position of third, thus entering the Europa League at the same stage Dundee United started at, would McCall's men have been better equipped/ stood a better chance of qualifying? Would they have been capable of winning their first tie, before advancing to the Levante round? Would there have been a difference in approach/attitude/belief at this juncture, or do you think the same way the Champs League then Europa were approached would have been taken?

Would this have had as much if an impact on the reactionary fans within the boards here? Unbeaten after 4 SPL games, but slaughtering the team for abject performances against side's much better equipped than ourselves? With a cheeky wee Europa win over an Eserikehspor or someone of that ilk, would expectations have been higher or lower? Alternativey, would an opening round defeat defeat in the Europa, coupled with the same SPL start, ahve more folk clamouring to punt the likes of Humohrey, Ojamaa, Higdon et al?

Purely a what if scenario, but would be interesting to see the responses...
