Close call between Erwin and Leitch.

 

Went for Erwin.

 

Really hope Leitch keeps his place for Saturday as he was head and shoulders above Lasley and Carswell.

I thought everybody did quite well tonight but it's got to be big Lee Erwin for me. The boy put in a helluva shift. He was always willing to take a man on and did what he could with the little service he got. Whoever McCall brings in will have a hard time shifting him out the team

Big Mac for me. Won must in the air, organised the defence and holding mids well, last ditched blocks and nearly got us a clean sheet when we were up against it for long spells

As good as could be expected really, especially seeing as he was playing on the left as a right sided player. He got booked before he'd even touched the ball but settled as the game went on. Got a few decent blocks in and looks like his right foot is decent.

 

He couldn't really have had a tougher opposition to debut against with the likes of GMS, Ciftci, Dow and Bilate. If ZFA and Hammell can't make Saturday I don't think McCall would hesitate much about starting him anyway.

Good to hear we may have another young prospect in the making. I think youth will play a big part for us this season

Thought Ferguson was a bit rabbit in the headlights to begin with but to be fair to him after ten minutes he settled down and did a decent job.

 

On MoTM, I thought Carswell, Angol and Reid did a fine job marking out their danger men but over the piece the job Erwin did was excellent but I think young Leitch just edges it. Rarely wasted the ball and some good touches.
