  1. Ive never bought into the feeling that Motherwell fans are any more indifferent or indeed harder to please than any other fans. We just notice it more because we are them and they are us. Most supports with a broad demographic will produce similar percentages when asked to make decisions on various subjects. Its like politics. Nobody really gives a f#ck about local elections cause its roads, bins etc. When it comes to the big decisions more people tend to sit up and take notice. Still a piss poor return though.......
  2. Have we just exchanged our new manager angst with Lennon Miller angst? I get its the close season and there isnt much to talk about, but no need to be getting worried The boy has an agent who will be making sure everyone in Europe is aware of his availability, over and above the clubs communications. The kinda clubs with the money to buy him dont have League Cup games to prepare for in 2 weeks. They will be in no rush.
  3. Agree turnout is very disappointing. Reasons need investigated so we can at least try to drive up engagemement. Unfortunately rules and regulations are not very "sexy" to your average punter, but I would have hoped for higher numbers than that.
  4. Im all for football being played on grass. We used to have one of the worst grass pitches in the league and now its one of the best. So it can be done on a small budget. Like others have said, you have to prioritise. If standards are set it forces that decision on clubs, which is fine. But imho, there should also be standards for grass pitches. Ours used to be horrible during the winter months. St Johnstones was poor last year and other clubs have had dodgy grass pitches. The rules shouldnt just be applied to plastic if we are serious about improving standands......
  5. I would imagine both they and Falkirk will look to challenge it. To be fair, I will wait until I see how the new pitches play this season before passing judgement. I agree that some of the grass pitches we played on over the last couple of seasons werent always the best. St Johnstone being the most obvious in the cup game and the following week.
  6. On Robinson, I agree I saw precious little under Kettlewell to suggest he has much to offer. But we were absolutely howling at that point and he was being asked to do a job he wasnt suited to. Id like to see if JBA can get a tune out of him in a different formation. Strikes me as if he could be quite useful playing a pressing game. If he can return to full fitness that is. Tough injury to recover from. Although I did see he was on the plane to Holland, so......
  7. How do you know he has zero knowledge of the Scottish game? Im sure they have tv and computers in Denmark. Also, Scottish football is littered with managers who had plenty knowledge of the Scottish game and still did shite, so its hardly a benchmark. Clearly the McGhee signing was Kettlewells and Fadinger looks like Wimmers, but I would be shocked if the club signed off on Watt without at least discussing it with the manager. Given we need another 3 or 4 players for cover until xmas, Im sure he can do plenty with that. I get that you are naturally pessimistic and thats fine. Some ying to my yang brings balance to the forum, but negative vibes without a reason is just vibes.....
  8. This was my original post on page 2 for anyone interested......
  9. Didnt take it as a criticism. Just couldnt be arsed typing it all out again! 😊
  10. My original point outlines that......
  11. For the avoidance of any doubt. I am a legacy member. But I also still pay a direct debit, so Im not arguing from a selfish perspective. Just trying to see it from both sides and find a middle ground.
  12. Certainly not a Tory! Its just simple fairness. Not that hard to understand.
  13. You cant do that when the rules at the point of parting with your money were that you were a member for life and kept the voting rights that come with that. That would leave the Society open to allegations of misselling. But given that the model has now been changed, a way need to be found to provide fairness to new members so that they arent disadvantaged compared to legacy members. Im sure the new Society board will have looked at the matter extensively. It does beg the question as to how much thought went into the long term financials at the time of set up and why those in charge settled on that model.
  14. Lets not turn this into a who paid what. The whole point of the Society is to bring everyone together. Legacy members should be protected and current members should be treated fairly. There are many who fall into both categories. Im sure the current Well Society Board are reading this and aware of the feelings on both sides. I trust them to do the right thing.
  15. Consensus is he is comfortable on the ball and likes a pass. Struggled with his fitness when he first arrived in Scotland so only found his feet towards the end of the season. Scored against us at Fir Park in the 3-2 game but I have no real recollection of that! Has certainly played a lot of first team games and is still only 25. Would appear to be the right demographic if he has the quality. Maybe our Miller replacement?
