  1. 100% agree with all of this. Especially McCann. I know they are in a relegation dogfight, but they were leaving the boot, shoulder and anything else they could land on our players all game. The fact Walsh let so much of it go is quite ironic when you see tge 2 yellow cards Lowery got. He was far from the worst offender. Pleasing to see us get the better of that kind of football, just as we have just about everything else that has been tried to stop us this season. If we hadnt thrown away so many points before clean sheets became a thing, we would undoubtedly be in a title race. For now though, Europe and a good Cup run beckons.
  2. The next 2 games wont define our season. But if we can win them both it will certainly put is in a really strong position in the run in to the split. Livvy are a tough team to play against, but the league doesnt lie and there must be a reason they havent won since August. We are much further along the road than we were when we went there last time out, so I expect a much better performance. If we can keep another clean sheet we should have enough about us to take at least one chance and win the game. Top 6 is within our grasp. We just need to go take it. After that we can start looking up the way!
  3. Thought Just was excellent again. His work rate and interceptions in winning the ball back are exceptional. However, I went for Fadinger. In Watts absence he has really stood up and took on the responsibility of senior man in the midfield. Capped a good performance with a cool finish.
  4. Thought we struggled the first 20 minutes. Killie did well to disrupt our patterns of play and were very physical. However, we eventually figured them out and had wrestled back control by the time we scored the first goal. The boy Lowery is a little unlucky with the red card. Both are probably justifiable yellows on their own, but you expect the referee to give him the last chance waggy finger on the second. No sympathy for McCann though as he had clearly instructed hisnplayers to be leaving a little bit on tackles and several other Killie players got away with worse challenges than Lowery. After that it was one way traffic and 4-0 didnt flatter us at all. Some lovely football and interplay. Bjorgolfsonn looked good when he came on and it was interesting to see Jens go with 2 up top at the end. Could be a useful tactic in certain circumstances going forward. The young boy McColm didnt look out of place either in his short cameo. Overall, a decent performance and a great 3 points. 40 points in January isnt too shabby at all.
  5. Ive consigned myself to the fact we may never give a team a pumping and will win every game 1 or 2 nil. I think we might be just too controlled to hand out a pumping to anyone. On the other hand, its hard to see us losing too many at the other end right now. Of course Killie could have an absolute mare and everything we hit goes in, and likewise, Im not naiive enough to think there still arent mistakes in us, but in general, we are likely to have 65% possession of the ball and win 2-0. Love to be wrong though.
  6. There have been tweeks, no doubt. Jens alluded in his presser to using "the data" to improve our defensive issues. It just all adds to the confidence that we, as fans, can have in the process. This isnt just some ad hoc anomaly we are witnessing. Its the real deal.
  7. He did it with humour and they all laughed. Im totally cool with it.....
  8. I absolutely love Big Jens. That presser is fantastic. We need to do everything we can to encourage him to stay as long as possible.
  9. There is every chance he will be away in the summer. But the board have to at least try and keep the suitors at bay and try to tempt him to stay. It we would brilliant if he could steer us into Europe and still be here with the core of the team to have a good go at it. What more of a calling card could he sign for himself than taking a club like ours into the group stages? Given that the team is set up for playing in Europe it would be great to see. Even if he did decide to go, we would get a wee bit more compo if he is on a better contract.
  10. There is nothing clear online. Best information I could find was that he had signed a 2 year deal with talks to be opened on extensions should he hit certain targets. But its all a bit woolly worded. We did have a policy of 1 year rolling contracts. No idea if that would still be the case, although from the above possibly not. Pretty sure the board will be aware of how well this is going though and an extension for the manager on improved terms would be a priority. Wether Jens would be minded to sign it or not is another matter. Depends how he views what he is building here and what his long term goals are. Ive no doubt he is incredibly ambitious, but he also has the Gothenberg experience and will understand how playing the longer game could be beneficial. If he did in fact turn down the Aberdeen job, it might be a sign that he is happy to wait for the right offer. Improving your terms while you do so would be a no brainer for him as long as he rrusts the club to do the right thing when the time comes.
  11. Jens will no doubt just ignore the report in a shit stain news rag that he doesnt read and get on with his job of preparing the team. Of course he will probably get asked about it in this weeks presser, but he has already shown he likes to swat those kind of questions away like flies. I look forward to more one liners and that rye smile.
  12. Not sure how Halliday has "low balled" us. He was asked what he thought Maswanhise was worth and he said "at least £3m". Thats the minimum. But its the January window, if clubs are desperate and we stick to our guns, the value could be significantly higher. Pesrsonally I dont think Tawanda is going anywhere this window. The club and the manager have proved they know what they are about. They will have a quiet word in his ear and tell him to keep doing what he is doing and an even bigger offer will come in the summer. And it probably wont be from a team in our league.......
  13. Why does anyone think that anything Halliday says in a podcast will have any relevance to what fee Maswanhise goes for? His goals, the length of contract and how big Brian Caldwells balls are, are really the only factors. Everyone just needs to chill oot a bit!
  14. Given the way Kettlewell preferred to play, you do have to question the wisdom of signing a player in that mould. Obviously not going to be an issue in a Jens team, but he will still require to put the hard yards in pressing opponents.
  15. He did. He looks to have some ability and had early pedigree. But from the very little seen (and reading between the lines) he seems to be your stereotypical technically gifted but lazy type (Ciftci). Thats not to say Jens might not be able to get a tune out of him but it would take a change in mindset and application
