I wouldn't be surprised if Miller has to wait a few weeks before he gets game time. Takes a wee while to settle in to a new league with a new style, and he wasn't match fit when he signed.

From what I saw today both of them looked really poor. Obviously in all likelihood they will both pull away from the rest in time given the budget difference but that looked dire stuff from the two of them. Hearts under McInnes and with the Bloom backing would be the most obvious side to challenge the duopoly and they have had an excellent start to the season (even though we let them off the hook last week). It’s certainly a very tight league and I definitely don’t remember the last time you had three teams (Us, Kilmarnock and Rangers) all drawing their first four fixtures.

Not that I heard anyone say he had broken down again. Hopefully not.

Kettlewells last hurrah! He was fit and back in training last week. If he has broken down again thats a concern. We havent missed him thus far, but he was a guy, I was hoping could cover a number of positions, so would have been good to have as a squad player as the season progressed.

So hopefully he’s recovered and available right after the international break? That must be about 8 weeks, since the league cup games started in July.

This from club website on 16th July: Jordan McGhee is set to spend 6 to 8 weeks on the sidelines with a thigh injury. He picked up the injury ahead of the first match against Clyde in the Premier Sports Cup. He has begun his rehabilitation and we look forward to welcoming him back into the squad. Jens Berthel said “It’s very unfortunate that we lose Jordan for this period of time. He’s made a very good impression in my time here. He brings experience and versatility to the squad, so he will be missed. However, he is already on the road to recovery and we look forward to him getting back soon.”

Mcghee played 30+ games for all but one of the last 8 seasons or so, going over 40 a few times. So I wouldn't describe him as a Callachan style crock. We signed the latter after him being out a whole season. We'll see how this season goes, but Mcghee will be up against it trying to get into the team having missed pre season.

Was there an update on McGhee? Or Slattery injury?

When McGhee signed i am sure you and I had the discussion about my concerns about his injury record. Take no satisfaction about being right. Was it a gamble worth taking?

Unfortunately, I fear McGhee might be this season’s Callachan.

A goalkeeper should command their box and deal with threats before going for the ball, either by clearing them out or being more aware. With the protection they get, there is no excuse. Foul or not on Ward, he has to be stronger in those situations. Maybe he just is not capable of it. And he has butterfingers.

Might be a very interesting season ahead. Results so far would say very little between all of the non of the old firm teams, even Morse so than usual, and perhaps not as much of a gap between them and the rest.

McGhee is apparently injured
