Itβs the kind of game where we should be able to bring on Sam, Thor and RCC and expect them to make a positive impact up top if needed.

I agree. However, it would be a very tough encounter at the best of times, but I do fear tonight due to tiredness and exhaustion. JT and McGinn, for example, have played almost 3 full games each since a week past Wednesday. Other players like Cooke haven't impressed; Thor is still getting up to speed; and the likes of McGhee and Nicholson aren't fully match fit yet. I guess thats when the manager earns his corn in situations like today. We do have to stop giving up early chances; this is a worrying habit thats developed recently. The midfield also has to get itself sorted out. Due to injuries and suspensions continuity has been affected. Up until the Aberdeen games it seemed to be relatively solid, but then began to look vulnerable. St Mirren aren't a great side but they can grind out results, especially in Paisley. Our away form has been solid but not exceptional. Given that, I think a 1-1 or 0-0 scoreline would be a most acceptable result. Still, the team, but more especially the matchday officials, owe the fans one after Wednesday so who knows?

I think he will bud, all our focus is fully on league now. The only change he might do is Cooke for Said but I hope not. Cooke just hasn't impressed me so far but I am not giving up on him
-
This is probably our strongest available starting eleven, and I fully expect JBA to go with it tonight. Iβll be disappointed if he thinks otherwise.

Fucking hell. Thatsβs not what was being said. Itβs easy to discount the wild theory of some in favour of listening to those tasked to do so. Iβve offered plenty of opinion on the matters you say, Iβm appreciative my thinking aligns currently and enjoying it while it lasts. Disappointed as we all are, fact is we had no better chance than we do any other year.

Forgot professionals in every field get everything right and can't get anything wrong. I expect you'll never offer your opinion of what a manager/player/recruitment team you perceive to get wrong because they're in post.
-
Time to give them an utter scudding
-
Shinnie is a complete fuckwit. Heβd make an excellent ref.
-
"Team news?" "At least Oscar is fresh"
-
In the olden days, referees would take playing conditions into account when considering punishing "culprits". Not now though. No common sense being applied.
-
Going to a sportsman dinner with him as a speaker and me as warm up comedy act would be stuff of nightmares!! π€ͺπ€ͺπ€ͺ
-
I know but the rules have to say its where u end up not how you got there .
-
You'd struggle to find a more greetin' faced referee botherer than Shinnie, and yet, following Gordon's foul, he gives him a hand up and makes absolutely no move to complain after the ref shows the yellow card. That should tell them all they need to know.
-
'He's not an average player...........he's a total total k**b!! π€£π€£
-
Shinnie is a very average player , if he marked his man the way he marks the ref, he'd be a player
-
Agreed and Jens suggesting that as well in press conference. Heβs very measured in his response to questions and suggesting referees would benefit from more time to review and discuss decisions seems in keeping with his continuous improvement approach rather than, what for some others would be , a dig at officials.

If correct, the current rule of sending a player off for something they had no control over is bonkers and needs to be changed. Its quite ironic that of the two red cards, the one we are mostly agreed on not being a red is the one where the defender deliberately brought the attacker down. Thats where we have come to. Absolutely mental. Priestmans is technically correct but should never be a red card, Gordons shouldnt have been, because there is nothing "obvious" about Olusanya's opportunity to score. But Im fully in favour of the deliberate "professional" foul being made a red card offence, much like it was in the old days. (See John Souttar on Elijah Just at Fir Park).
-
Yup, Milanovic, very kind gesture. What you don't see is Shinnie off camera wanting him banned for 10 games!!!
-
Good stuff, the gods weren't on our side, don't think the line up would've mattered re OP slip. I've not looked into law, take it wording doesnt mention deliberate foul?? Also I noticed one of Aberdeen players asking for him not to be sent off, which is admirable. I'd Like to think I'd give benefit of doubt to a player who slipped especially so early in game...

The gaffer

This all depends on having competent people wanting to be referees. I'm not sure how many sane individuals would want to make that career move. Worth a try though.
-
Very disappointed at result but more than anything the manner of it , hard to stomach , so much went wrong . But I will not question our leader or our team , long time since went to FP with smile on face and left with a bigger one . We are a Motherwell I'd thought never see again with current set up and resources available i used to trudge to every game now I skip

I blame Kenny McLean for Gordon's red card.
