There's plenty of time for things to shake out, so I don't see the point in folk getting worked up at this point.

On Robinson, I agree I saw precious little under Kettlewell to suggest he has much to offer. But we were absolutely howling at that point and he was being asked to do a job he wasnt suited to. Id like to see if JBA can get a tune out of him in a different formation. Strikes me as if he could be quite useful playing a pressing game. If he can return to full fitness that is. How do you know he has zero knowledge of the Scottish game? Im sure they have tv and computers in Denmark. Also, Scottish football is littered with managers who had plenty knowledge of the Scottish game and still did shite, so its hardly a benchmark. Clearly the McGhee signing was Kettlewells and Fadinger looks like Wimmers, but I would be shocked if the club signed off on Watt without at least discussing it with the manager. Given we need another 3 or 4 players for cover until xmas, Im sure he can do plenty with that. I get that you are naturally pessimistic and thats fine. To be fair the whole team as its stands right now are none of the managers signings. He will just have to work with it.

I don't have any problem signing players from relegated or nearly relegated teams, We have had plenty of stand-outs over the years in teams that have been hovering above the drop. You just need to look at the starting line-up for our play-off against Rangers to see a few good examples. Faddy was another one that played in a poor team that would have been relegated if Falkirk had put seats in their stadium. Gary McAllister also played in poor Motherwell sides.

Agree, he's not our managers signing. Yes will support him too. Sounds improvement on Davor and Paton though hurts out. Was hoping he has contacts in Denmark that could do well. I'm also concerned that we are recruiting from relegated team and Dundee player from team with worst defensive record in league. Also think O'Donnell should have been given terms and let go. Agree badly need striker and hope this time, it's one from our manager.

Good luck to him and he'll get my full support. However he didn't seem to set the heather on fire whilst at Perth, in an admittedly poor team and I'm curious as to who signed him for us. He obviously wasn't on a PCA and I doubt if JBA knew anything about him. He could be another Theo Bair of course, who was mismanaged by Simo. St Johnstone fans seem to think he has talent but weren't overly bothered when he left. I'm not in any great rush to bring in extra bodies for the sake of it, but we do need another out and out striker before the League Cup group stages. As it is we only have Ap Stam, with 1 other out injured long term. I wouldn't think it right to give him 90 minutes in all the pre season bounce games given his injury record. If he does get injured what then? No doubt, JBA is aware of this serious short term deficiency in the squad and will possibly have brought in trialists to be assessed whilst in training camp.

Burton fans mixed reports about Elliot Watt. Most think he's skillful passer but lacks pace. Some express view that if he gets fitter and looses weight there is potential good player there. do very well in the right setting. Yes, I'm saying that in my piece as well... wrong time and place... and wrong to have been given the armband. But a talented and committed player who may still do well
