While not absolving the keeper of all blame, let's not ignore the fact it was the defence that gifted the first goal and the strikers that should have put us out of reach before the equaliser. I'm sure JBA is aware of all these issues, however, and will continue to address them during the break.

Having watched highlights today if Ward starts then it's last chance saloon for him, that killie equaliser was embarrassing. No point getting all the plaudits, playing great football but nothing to show for it as we have a very poor goalie whose confidence will be rock bottom. Call me old fashioned but I want a goalie to save shots and collect crosses, we have 10 outfield players to do the good footwork

Will be a tougher game now as Nisbet and the Swedish guy on loan are really good signings

I was speaking to a decent Celtic fan I know this morning and he likes Welsh. Said he’s a big honest centre half who is good on the ball and is steady, he thinks he’ll do well with us.

Will wait to see how he looks in a Motherwell jesrsey, but cant say I was ever overly impressed when he played against us for Celtic. All relative though. If he is better than we have in the building, he will do fine.

I am happy with the calibre of our signings, only concern for me is goalkeeper but time will tell

It would be churlish to suggest we have had anything else other than a successful window, but I am a little disappointed we let Wilson go out on loan without a replacement. He may have his deficiencies, ,but in my eyes at least he was a decent enough back up, in the same way Halliday is for the midfield spots. I guess if JBA doesnt rate him and the boy wants to play, fair enough. He might yet develop with more first team football at Raith. Just not convinced that we have adequate cover if anything happens to Longelo as we would be looking at SOD, McGinn or Halliday in there. As for the rest of the squad. Midfield is excellent. Wide areas look good. Up front remains to be seen but at least Maswanhise is scoring for now. GK needs to settle down with either Ox being given a shot to see if he can do any better or just standing by Ward in the hope he can iron out the mistakes. Good first window for JBA. Still some weaknesses to address, but we are gonna be fun to watch and hopefulky we ecan get enough wins to allow him time to build.

Compared to the fling-shite-at-the-wall chaos of Kettlewell’s transfer windows, this one feels like a real breath of fresh air.

I reckon ince Saids gets up tk speed and loses a few lbs he'll be quality as well. Definitely seems to have a bit of trickery about him. As someone has said, Welsh played 15 games for Mechelen since Jan, so appears to have been a regular in the Jupiler League.

I’d say it’s been a very positive window with a real uplift in quality from recent years. Yes ……… some issues to resolve and improve around goal-scoring, goal keeping and central defence. Let’s see what JBA can do over the next month or so before starting work on the gallows! Think the guy has been a breath of fresh air so far …………….. and remember, for those getting jittery about LB cover, I have only 2 words of comfort …………. Anthony Straker!

All in all it’s been a great close season/transfer window. Yes we could have done with an extra player or two but that’s always the case for most teams. I really don’t think that our season will be defined by not getting an extra player or two. What we have is a good team playing good football so let’s sit back and enjoy the next few months.

He is not injury prone, he has a shoulder condition that requires surgery, played his whole time in Belgium with it and no ill effects, incidentally Mechelen played everything through him so can see why we've got him. The operation is scheduled for May. Blackburn Rovers were keen to take him on loan too.

Longelo, Just, Fadinger, and Watt is some combination of signings for any transfer window. All 4 have made a good impact already, and I'm not sure we've seen the best of them yet. Said looks decent, but still hard to tell with him, and RCC is a known quantity (kind of) and at least on the face of it a decent coup. Hendry, Osong, and Priestman are too early to call, they've barely played an hour between them. The latter looks like a decent prospect, and possibly a succession plan for our first choice midfield. Hendry has been decent in our league before. Sule also looked to be a coup before the injury, with some pace and skill. Hopefully we see him back. McGhee may struggle to make an impact now that we've made a good few signings while he's been out, but still most of the season left to go, and we know there will be twists and turns. Overall this has been a positive window, with some real quality and less lottery tickets. To come into the last day woth just one need to fill, and getting it done, is pretty impressive, as the less we leave to the last minute, the better. The same goes for January, all going well, we want to be fine tuning at that stage, not bringing in numbers.

He had a shoulder injury earlier on in the summer that they thought might need surgery but didn't (can relate as someone who broke their shoulder, easy done). Rumours suggest that we had a central defender lined up to join but that deal fell through when he failed a medical. Who knows? Stephen Welsh has the right physical attributes and is ostensibly the kind of defender who would fit into our system, from what I can gather. My main, probably sole, concern, is that he is injury prone. Fingers crossed we carried out a rigorous medical.

Aye we could have done with another striker but hopefully Hendry will come good - I personally think Ewan has a lot of talent but started strong and lost confidence last year - very visible and it's probably for the best he moves on just now Just need to see what transpires if we can get any free agents in and see what happens in January From what I have seen on Twitter Celtic fans are saying they are sorry he's moving on. Hopefully things will work out well for him

As far as Ewan Wilson is concerned, you're right. However that tells me that JBA is quite happy to see him move on, irrespective of our needs as a club. He's on his way out. I'd say the window has been a mixed bag. We've brought in some really decent midfielders so thats that box well and truly ticked. Up front, the striking department has been found seriously wanting and the jury is still out as to whether we've really addressed that area. Defence, I'm not sure at all. We're short at left back. Central defence has been a serious weakness of ours for quite some time and, despite that, we bring in one injury prone loanee with an hour or so to go before the window closed. Goalkeepers? Our problem surfaced too late to actively address. I get that there's still the free agent market that we could tap into. So far this season, our defence and attack have been two weak areas and I'm not convinced we've addressed those parts of the team. I hope I'm wrong of course and its early days.
