Collum would swear the sky is green to cover mistakes and deflect. The same incidents get different decisions every week. All dressed up with whatever explanation suits at the time. No consistency. No accountability. Just clowns making it up as they go. The VAR review is pointless as well. It’s just a box ticking exercise so he can claim transparency and say they are listening. It’s the same script ever time and only pisses fans off even more. Nothing has improved. Our officials and their use of VAR has objectively ruined the spectacle and brought even more incompetence, cynicism and apathy into the game.

Did he also not go down very easily?
-
Bullshit on the hearts explanation !! the hearts player’s head is about knee height so no way you should be using your head to play the ball at that height. the guy got kicked in the head. FFS that’s why it’s dangerous play against the hearts player.

I know you’re all waiting with baited breath for this
-
I cant see that happening, 6 points and 11 goals better off with 3 to play is a very distinct advantage to us. But that said id rather we were going to Easter rd, last game with 4th place secured, so heres hoping we can take something from Hearts and Celtic, both of whom are bang average at best.
-
As Long as we go Into the Hibs game with 4th place secured, I’ll be good with that.
-
True. I forgot about Falkirk, but since we're taking something from Hearts, they're out the equation. Europe by 10 bells it is, then.
-
A tall order for Falkirk as they'd need to win their 3 remaining games and we'd need to lose all three. If Hibs lose one of their remaining games then we'd almost certainly finish 4th.
-
Not quite. Falkirk can actually still get 58 points if they win out. If it’s a draw Hibs can overtake us by winning last two games.
-
2-1 Celtic. That result will do us, as will the performances of both sides. Mibbe we'll be in Europe by kick-off on Saturday - get the feeling Hibs are this year's top 6 whipping boys.
-
Looks like Celtic made hard work of that but finally zero points for Hibs today. So Hibs need to at least win 2 and draw one to overtake us. Of Course, would be much better for us to just beat Hearts and Celtic.
-
VAR keeping up their usual standards. You couldn't trust them to check the time
-
Celtic now scored.
-
Hibs down to 10 men after 20 mins a wild challenge by McGrath, their 4th red card in 3 games ffs.
-
McGrath sent off now for them too. Happy days, down to 10men with 70mins to play.
-
Think we should be fine for 4th, hibs fans not exactly out in numbers today and players look flat. Bizarre as Falkirk 2pts behind them and home to hibs next week
-
Could be down to several factors Joe, as you hint. The pitch was certainly one. I think Falkirk are a better all round team than us and have the playing squad to mix things up and vary tactics. We, on the other hand are a better pure footballing side, if that makes sense. We have deficiencies in the squad which have come to the fore of late. For example, no cover for left back and a lack of strikers. I know Thor is still is still realtively untested and injured to boot. With quite a few players leaving in the summer Nicholson, Halliday, Gordon etc. it will allow us to address outstanding lacunas.
-
It doesn’t have to be one or the other. As I’ve said, if you can’t grow or maintain grass, you’ve no business in the top league. That applies to us as well. We’ve had to spend heavily to fix past mistakes, and others should be expected to do the same. It’s not fair that some clubs effectively gain a bigger playing budget because maintaining a plastic pitch is significantly cheaper than grass or hybrid surfaces. And if you underinvest in your grass surface and ignore drainage issues, leaving tattie fields, there should be penalties to discourage it. This is a spectator sport. We wouldn’t accept a pockmarked cinema screen, so why accept substandard pitches? There should be a level playing field in the top flight for all. Pun intended.
-
Phone the ticket office and buy them on the phone. They will hold them for you at ticket office or post them out. Still plenty time to get there.
-
I guess the argument against that is the state of Aberdeen & Dundee United's pitches this winter. Im generally in agreement with grass being a requirement. But Id rather play on yesterdays pitch than the Pittodrie tattie field we got in the cup. Even ours wasnt great midwinter, albeit it played ok and there were mitigating factors. Edit: to add, Falkirk played very good football yesterday. But I guess they are used to the speed of the pitch.
-
Fir Park should be absolutely bouncing for this one . Looking forward to this and here's hoping for a very good performance
-
These plastic pitches have no place in the top flight. I’ve said it before: if you can’t grow and maintain grass in Scotland, you’ve no business running a professional football club.
-
Not a great kick off time for many but there's no reason why we shouldn't attract 10,500 fans. Hopefully, the online ticketing problems will be sorted out in time.
-
Presumably, Falkirk went to great lengths to ensure that the surface was kept madeira cake dry for days beforehand?
