  1. Yep, you really do have to wonder. whilst you’re at it, why not try wondering about some of these...... There weren’t just four Beatles members The Beatles were a rotation of different, similar looking, people, one of whom was from Grimsby. The US didn’t invade Iraq because of Saddam or for oil but to get hold of a Mesopotamian star gate The US invaded Iraq to get ahold of an ancient Mesopotamian star gate . You might’ve seen the film Stargate? It’s based on a true story. The the Olson twins are just one person. That the Olson twins are just one person moving back et forth réally fast. 3. Well done to the club today for honouring a club legend, Willie McSeveney who celebrated his 90th birthday last Monday. Article in match day programme and a presentation by another legend Willie Hunter on behalf of the ex-players club in the Centenary Suite. I spoke briefly with Willie McSeveney and it was an honour to shake his hand.

  4. I hadn’t read this thread for a couple of weeks so have had a fair bit of catching up to do. Fuck me, there’s some pish getting slavered. To hear that some were booing Hastie today is an absolute joke. He’s a 19 year old boy who would not have been prepared for and (by his own admission) never expected this level of attention. I would wager he’s not been media trained. I hope to christ he doesn’t go on this forum to read one of his own clubs fans twice calling the boy a cunt because of a speculative story in the most guttural of red tops. True to form, there are those blaming the club for having not signed our hot talent up by now. Many of whom are the same people who blamed the club for not putting youth first. Even when they do.....apparently it’s a shambles. Even for you YaBezzer, that’s a belter. I’d love to see your stats to substantiate the claim . It may be lost on some that this is a critical point in a footballers career. They are leaving the Academy age groups and looking to push on, find their level and stake their claim for a short but hopefully fruitful career. There are so many variables, why would anyone in that instance want to tie themselves to a long contract at the earliest instance? A fans perspective is factually obscured and tainted by tribal emotions. A wee bit of objectivity goes a hell of a long way.

  5. Gorrin’s timing of his tackling and composure on the ball seems to get better every time he plays, a really important player for us over the past few games and hope he gets a new contract. He didn’t give them a moments peace today, constantly applying pressure on their midfield and getting us going forward again quickly. Really enjoyed watching him today and if it wasn’t for the fact he was taken off relatively early, I think he would’ve been my pick. Campbell was also great in the middle today, winning the ball back and offering an option at times in the final third too. It’s lovely seeing him get back to his best as he’s a thouroughly enjoyable player to watch when he’s in that kind of form. It’s amazing to think that Hastie had a relatively quiet game today, despite the fact he added another to his goal tally. Maybe it was more to do with the fact Ariyibi was so effective today that Hastie was used less, however any time he was on the ball, he still looked like doing something positive. Another decent performance from him. Main was a hell of a lot better today as well. The knock on that led to the first goal was brilliant however he missed a great opportunity to score early in the second half to really put the game out of sight. All round play much improved from the killie game, however he really needs to start scoring or chipping in with assists to be properly effective. Ariyibi was simply wonderful to watch in that first half, and still had flashes in the second although like Main, wasted a couple of opportunities to score and out the game really out of sight. If he adds some more end product do his tricky dribbling he could make a real success of himself with Forest. Terrorising Gordon today as well as most of that Accies back four really put him in contention for MotM, although that’s only to be expected if you get an assist in addition to winning a penalty. Aldred was a complete wall, Tait and Grimshaw looked really comfortable for the vast majority of the game and Dunne was decent. A good overall display from the defensive line meant Gillespie had very little to do aside from take a couple of goal kicks. Wish I could say more about the defence, however they just didn’t have that much to do against a poor accies forward line. Turnbull stole the show today though. Getting two goals and an assist would normally automatically mean he’d get the MotM but the fact his overall game was so good today makes it a relatively straightforward choice in the end. His composure on the ball is something we’ve lacked for a good few seasons really, and the fact he’s starting to improve the defensive side of the game and improving his work rate means we could really have a special talent on our hands.

  7. I would have liked to have seen Scott yesterday but I can understand why Robinson gave Johnson a shot. He was terrible though and we should be looking to get shot in the summer if possible. All 11 starters played very well and McHugh was decent when he came on. Turnbull and Hastie's goals are the difference between a relegation battle and the top six and take the pressure off Main and Ayribi. I thought that Rodriguez had a great game yesterday, he looks much fitter than the first half of the the season.

  8. Only three pages reflecting a great result with all the usual suspects missing. Yet a disreputal rag runs a story about a player going to Ibrox and some are all over it. Negligence by the club, unable to spot super star in the under 20s, a youth system not fit for purpose all being thrown at the club. Why can't people just enjoy it when things are going well?

  9. The Palace thing is interesting. Maybe there would be a possibility of that happening with him on loan to us all of next season.

  10. I’d love for him to stay more than anything but even if he was to sign a new deal and leave in the summer for a proper fee then I’d be fine with that. Sell him to anybody but the 2 ugly sisters and I’m okay with it. Great lad and even better player.

  11. Bit of a misleading headline. Sent back for an injury assessment in his calf.

  12. Today proved to me that Hastie has still got a lot to learn. In terms of team building I'd love to secure Gorrin, Grimshaw and Aldred on longer term deals.

  13. And what happens if Hastie leaves and perhaps someone comes in for Turnbull in the summer or he picks up an injury? The answer is we have a team that doesn't score again. We are doing well but there will always be areas that can be improved upon and I'm afraid Main is the one most would point out. No one is saying he doesn't contribute but his scoring record is fairly pathetic and it's not like he's not had chances, he's had plenty chances and fluffed most of them. Maybe someone else can come in and contribute what Main provides and be a better source of goals? I don't think it's beyond the bounds of imagination to believe so. Before our good run we had plenty people on here saying our mediocre league position and poor performances were as good as we could do given the budget, small club, players etc. That's turned out to be a lot of hooey. You should always be trying to improve and the fact that we've picked up form doesn't mean we can sit back and relax. We should always be looking to identify where the team can be strengthened and aspiring to be better.

  14. Very noticable that Turnbull has stepped up his game off the ball, turning him into an even more effective player.

  15. Cos I saw him playing for the Under 20s and Hastie and Turnbull were the stand out players in a good team. ANYONE that watches the Under 20s will tell you the same. It's nothing to do with hindsight. These guys have turned the season around, no one was expecting them to do this well and have the level of impact that they have but it remains a mystery as to why the two best youth prospects at the club went into the 2nd half of the season out of contract. And the supporters that booed Hastie today need to take a long hard look at themselves.....especially as probably about half of them are fair weather guys.

  16. Going into that 5 game run was reminiscent of the 14/15 season for me. We were playing a style of football that all other teams had sussed and there looked to be a morale issue. There were differences of course, we had a new manager and lots of new January arrivals. What we did have though was a critical run of games in February that gave a glimmer of hope that if we managed to get a couple of wins could see us nudge over the line to safety. As every week passed, that hope slipped further and further away. This year, the management and squad have made the most of that run and we are safe for another term. For that, they deserve nothing but applause. As much as I thoroughly enjoyed cuffing the h*n, going into those playoffs is not an experience I want repeating any time EVER.
