  3. Fatcalf, you're an old timer like me who has seen it all before at Fir Park. I agree 100% with you, it's just part of being one of the 'Well faithful and the young posters to this board will soon realise this and in years to come they'll be saying what you & I are saying now. We always sell our best players but how many times have we really suffered as a result? Trust the manager, support the team (no matter who is wearing the Claret & Amber) and we will have more better times than bad. Losing players is part of the roller coaster journey. Many 'Well fans have no idea what it feels like to go into the last few games needing to pick up points to avoid relegation, it's a hellish feeling. We haven't been close to that situation for a long time. I had to wait 34 years for a European tie at Fir Park, now the young ones expect it every season. Who else in these tight financial times in this league would any 'Well fan swap places with, a Jambo, a Killie, a Hibee? We would all prefer the good times to continue and keep our best and add to the squad but football life has changed for ever and we've just got to adjust and try to enjoy the changes. Yes, we'll moan and complain but the panic merchants need to calm down and listen to the 'auld timers'. We may not be correct all the time and always agreed with, however those with experience should be at least heard sometimes. After typing this and reading it over I realise I sound like my grandad!
  4. I cannot believe that some fellow 'Well fans make comments like "As much as he has been terrific for us, I 'd be disappointed to see him stay now. I thought this was a perfect time to cash in and build a new squad with a new manager". How can you be disappointed to see him stay? Please help me understand the reasoning behind such sentiments. A successful manager, a great season, some entertaining football and yet you want a change. As someone who has been going to Fir Park for many, many years I know there is no guarantee that next season will be as enjoyable as 2012-13 but I would pay my money to see a McCall managed team before yet another gamble on a new boss. The gamble might be a winner but is it worth the risk and heartache. Building a new squad with a new manager is not what we need in the present state of Scottish football. We finished runners-up for goodness sake. How much would Hibs, Hearts, Aberdeen, Dundee United give to be in our position? The biggest improvement I want for next season is in our cup performances, other than that I am satisfied with our on-field displays. The Claret & Amber roller-coaster is fun but we don't want the old days of fighting relegation or bottom half of the league, it's not good for your health, enjoy the moment and what we have now. Thanks.
  5. I have no idea what the sponsors saw today that made them select Jamie Murphy as Man of The Match. Chris Humphrey was my choice ahead of Law, Lasley or Higdon. Also thought the ref had a good game, a few times there were tackles & pushes that with the general 'softness' in the game now I would have expected free kicks to have been awarded but was pleasantly surprised when he let the game flow and kept the cards in his pocket. Some may think Higdon got a rough time from the ref and Tokely but Higgy gives as good as he gets, the way it should be.
  6. I read with astonishment the sentence "Couldn't bring myself to vote either way". Why couldn't you make a decision? Could someone explain to me what serious circumstances would have to occur before an individual would vote. Your club have asked for your opinion and you appear not to have one, incredible. Rangers have 'cheated' every team they have played whilst under the charge of David Murray and others and when asked you can't decide on whether the new Rangers be allowed to join the SPL or not. And before anyone says it, I know you have to respect another persons decision but I truly am at a loss as to why you wouldn't vote. How many times in life will an ordinary football fan be given the chance to make a difference to their sport? This is not about money or people losing jobs it is about standing up, saying enough is enough and that the ordinary football fan is having a say on how the guilty should be dealt with. When the club said that we would have a vote I was never more proud to be a Motherwell fan as I was on hearing that news and being given the opportunity to make a stand. I also cannot agree with your comment that you would rather have them in the SPL than see anyone at Fir Park out of work. As hard as it may sound these matters and how they are dealt with are way more important than a few people losing the jobs. Think what you are saying, you would rather have them back in the SPL, I simply cannot understand that reasoning. I have sympathy for anyone who is made redundant but hard decisions have to be made and allowing the new Rangers into the SPL, in my opinion, is totally wrong.

    Snap Poll

As one who has suffered many disappointments following Motherwell, I will take a Rangers win tonight. As much as I hate to see any of the Old Firm win I always want them to take points off of the teams we are competing against for 3rd place or any other position. My heart couldn't stand going into the last game v United needing 1 or 3 points. I've been there too often in the past and it ain't fun, take 3rd place tonight without question and go to Fir Park a week on Sunday and enjoy a truly remarkable achievement. Remember younger fans, this is Champions League, keep repeating that and it really hits home what a small squad have achieved.
  8. Hello jacktwin, Thanks for replying. I am interested in the programme. Can you drop me a Private Message letting me know how much you are asking for it?
  9. Hello fellow 'Well fans, First time post and I hope it is in the correct area. I am looking for a programme for the Flamurtari v Motherwell Europa League game 16 July 2009. Let me know if you know of anyone who has one for sale, thank you.
